lookin pretty sweet tong! nice inking jylez and color palette. the big a** swirl in the background is cool too, and its nice to see some more details in the larger, transparent version. i like how doing that can keep a more open-looking composition and still fill it in and show detail.
i wonder if there's a way you could integrate the larger version with the background swirl more other than lowering opacity...like maybe if you masked out the areas where the swirl is from the transparent version, or even masked out a stroke around that.. might look weird that way though, i dunno. or maybe a transparent stroke around the full character to mask out all the background stuff would help her pop out a little more too.
but yah, good job on this one =)

at the mention of a speech bubble i imagined like a grungy icon or something.
skull, death, poison, curses, etcetc. whichever. lulz
nice i like the design of the chara but maybe some more details would be cool. maybe like shark teeth lulz
i agree in lowering the opacity of the second girl layer. its distracting especially since the shark illustration is really nice i wanna see more of that than her again.
also larger hand maybe?
