In my daughter's eyes I am a hero I am strong and wise and I know no fear But the truth is plain to see She was sent to rescue me I see who I wanna be In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal Darkness turns to light and the world is at peace This miracle God gave to me gives me strength when I am weak I find reason to believe In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand around my finger Oh it puts a smile in my heart Everything becomes a little clearer I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough It's giving more when you feel like giving up I've seen the light It's in my daugter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the future A reflection of who I am and what will be Though she'll grow and someday leave Maybe raise a family When I'm gone I hope you see how happy she made me For I'll be there In my daughter's eyes

It had been so long since Kaya had spent time alone with her Mother. In fact, she had hardly seen her since becoming an adult. Once she'd grown, she had taken off to explore what she never truly could before. Though she felt homesick each night, the thought of her family so far away causing the occational tear.
Now, as she flew through the sky until she went in circles above the old den, she supressed a giggle as it bubbled up inside her. This surprise visit had been planned for a while. It was timed for when her Mother would be alone for a while. So far that was how it looked.

Keme had stopped by earlier. He loved spending time with the guys, and took Lucius out with them this time, as well as the other younglings. It was nice to lounge around and not have to worry about her little cubs for a while. Or so that's what she thought. Annelise worried about them 24/7. It didn't matter where they went, or who they were with, she still had those mother instincts to fret a lot.
Sighing, she turned over onto her side facing the entrance to the den. Anne watched a mouse scurry away and under a bush. She smiled and laughed softly, remebering her first litter. They were an energetic bunch and often wondered off. Especially one, who wasn't very social, due to the fact her lips were sewn together. But her second daughter Kaya, was the most memorable. Her first prey and how she loved to cling to her daddy. It was so adorable, Annelise hated seeing them all go.

A bright, excited smile formed across her mawl as she landed softly several feet away. This was perfect, she really was alone. They could finally have time one on one together. Her brothers and sisters always stole attention from her. Now nothing could get in the way.
Just feet away now, she pounced, laughing wildly until she rested on top of her Mother. "Hi Mom!" A loving nuzzle soon followed as she tugged at one ear. "I've missed you so much."

Annelise watched as a dark brown form landed in the distance. She picked her head up to see better, and caught the unmistakable sight of bright green wings. A smile spread accross her face, as she watched with amusement.
Giggling, she was taken by surprise by her daughter, even if she suspected it had been her. Annelise batted at her daughter's ears, as she laughed even more at the tug's of her own. "My you've grown to be a beautiful young lioness. I've missed you so much too!" she nuzzled her daughter back lovingly, "Where did you travel to?"

As Kaya lay there on top of her Mother's side, she smiled brightly, though dissapointment was obvious in her eyes. "I traveled far and wide. I saw waterfalls and a desert...I saw so much Mother...but I could not find a male that seemed right for me..."
A frown took the place of her smile as she rolled off and nuzzled up so her side pressed against her Mother's. She'd so missed being close to the loving form. "Do you think I'll ever find a mate Mom..?"

Annelise understood her daughter's disappointment. She thought back to a time when she wondered from place to place and couldn't find the right male. That was until she met Ohanzee.
Smiling, she tugged on Kaya's ear, "You'll find someone darling. You're beautiful, smart and you deserve the right lion. It took a while for me to find your father, but when I did, I knew he was the one." Trying to comfort her daughter, Annelise started licking the top of her head. There was a silent pause before she stopped to say, "I know you will find a mate. It'll take more than the world to stop a loving heart like yours from finding someone who loves you just as much."

Kaya purred as her Mother began licking her head. Since she was an infant, this loving action had always done wonders to soothe her when she was stressed out. Annelise always knew just how to help her, just what words to say.
"Thank you Mom...that means a lot. Dad really is a wonderful lion....I love both of you so much..." Her eyes closed as she nuzzled her head against her Mother's familiar warm furry chest.

Annelise draped an arm over her daughter and hugged her gently. She felt the truth in her words and had let it ring loud and clear in her voice.
"Don't tell your father that, he might get a big head," she joked letting out a small laugh. "We both love you so much as well, and you'll always have us." Holding her daughter in her arms brought back memories from when she was only a cub. They'd all be ready to go to sleep, and just as everyone went to lay down, all three cubs would cuddle up to either her or their father's chest.
"So tell me, have you met any of the dragons?" Annelise asked curious about Kaya's adventures since she'd left the den.
