hey,
i (obviously) joined this guild because i love Skillet.
but what i notised, is that instead of really enjoying the main points: God, Jesus, and Music.
their more idolising the members.
Im speaking in a way that I hope wont offende anyone. Im just wondering, why?
yes, their music is fantastic, the way it all blends together in elegance yet rock, its a truely talented group.
But they're on a mission to help the world with their lives and God through Music.
Im speaking because after i got out of depression, their music, and God, and an amazing camp called Mt. Gilead, helped me get back up.

I guess what im saying is:
Why bother idolising someone? When a God who made you, and the world, is right here?

I understand why you posted this. Those of us who are, well I guess you could say, obsessed with members, are not idolizing them. We just really like them! Also, alot of the people that joined this guild may not be Christians. Skillet has alot of non-christian fans, which is good because it means they are reaching out to those who are more in need of Jesus' love. Back on the subject of member idolizing... When we really like a member, it doesn't mean that when we hear or see Skillet that we only think of that member. Of course people are going to really really like the members, but we still hear the message that God has sent us through Skillet. It's okay to have crush on a member, be a big fan of a certain member, or whatever. We still enjoy the key points quite a bit, but some people are really shy to talk about their love for Christ. Which they shouldn't be, but it's normal, so they find it easier to talk about their favorite member. Does that make any sense? I sometimes have a hard time making much sense.... haha

This post does make a good point. And it's a good thing to discuss. I do focus more on the songs and the music than the members of the band, but that's because I want to become a music major in college. But besides that, I do hear Gods message, I am a Christian (the Mormon religion is a type of Christianity.) and that is something that all Christian fans should listen for.
