So, a while ago, I read a novel called Vampire Diaries by an author called L.J. Smith. Now they're making a television series out of it. Which is just going along with all these lame Vampire popularity in pop-culture. I am pissed beyond anything, because I actually enjoyed reading these books. Because they actually have a plot, and character development and the main character, Elena is actually a very strong character. It's not the best book, or story, obviously, but it was so much of a better read than Twilight (then again, I guess anything is). I am so pissed right now, because I definitely DO NOT want these series to be another Twilight. GOD. They're just going to attack these series because it has some association with vampires. GOD I AM SO ANNOYED. HELP ME CALM DOWN. Who's read these series and who liked it?

Vampires are being done to death. Cheesy-assed pun intended. I haven't read the books, but lately I've been becoming leery of anything popular and vampire. (Twilight = death of the vampire. Way to ruin the legacy that Stoker started, Meyer. stare ) I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse books, which are so-so. Then again, my preferences are hardly main stream. xd

Yeah, these weren't very mainstream either. They've been around for years though. Since the early 90s, I think, actually. Smith just came out with the fifth or so installment of it this past February. I love it, because I'm in love with one of the characters in the series - Damon. OMG. He is so bad a**. It's amazing. But yeah. They ruined him because one, he is so not bad-a** looking, not beautiful, and just doesn't look like how Smith described in the book. I am not happy. *enter not happy face here* I really don't want this to be another Twilight. I don't. Because they're just going to ruin it, and just URGH. That's the only way I can express to you my frustration. URGH.

*shrug* If my story were to be published I guess that would be alright. I started writing it about 5 years ago, so I didn't write it just because "onos teh vamps are teh popularz!!! TWILIGHT!!!11!"
I'm VERY picky when it comes to vampires. First off I do not support HumanXVampire relationships; I find it to be just plain wrong and sickening. So any book that has that I do not deem as true to the vampire myth.

I just like Damon in the series. I don't really like Elena, who is the main character, as much. I mean I like her a lot more than I like Bella, but hey... Stefan, is okay, just kind of annoying. He's Elena's vamp boyfriend/husband/life partner person, and basically Damon is Stefan's brother and wants Elena for himself. He's pretty kick a**. Personally, I think he should just give up on the stuck up b***h and go for her best friend, but that's just me.

Don't worry! If the books are good they'll barely get any of the attention they deserve!

I'm afraid I spent my time in the Scifi section reading Assassin's Apprentice.

Sadly 'Vampires' are becoming this years fad. The 'flavor' of the month if you will.
It goes in waves if anyone has noticed. Once every two or three years there's a new fad for people to squeal over.
Like when Harry Potter was the talk of the town. BOOM! All of a sudden stories about witches and wizards popped up.
The Lord Of The Rings films.
BOOM! You've got you're elf stories and general fantasy obsession.
And so on and so fourth. Humans are natural slaves to trend. -_-

Whats the point with vampires anyway? I just think they are hollow shells and they only drink blood because they are jealous that they dont have any.
