Sydney Brooke
Echo Earth Mechanic and Lt. Col in the USMC
Echo Earth Mechanic and Lt. Col in the USMC

Name: Sydney Brooke, known as Syd or "Mechs" by her close friends and comrades.
Rank: Lieutenant Colonel of the US Marines Corps
Age: 32
Race: Human
Eye color: Blue
Skin color: Syd has the ruddy skin tones of someone with a good deal Native American blood in their heritage, though she is clearly not a full blooded Native American.
Body build: Syd stands at 5'11" and weighs in at around 151lbs. She is physically fit and takes good care of herself.
Hair color/length/style: A very dark almost-black brown that never is let to grow longer than to her shoulder blades and is usually kept just long enough to pull back into a ponytail.
Unusual Abilities: Syd's love for mechanics, building, and knowing how things work is not just a strange childhood dream made reality through the marines, but also stems from a technopathic ability. Syd can't control machines exactly, but she has an uncanny ability to see the mechanics of something and know how it works, simple or complex, without studying it much if at all. She also is often heard to talk to the machines as if they were living things, and at times it certainly does seem as if they do listen. Syd's ability works with just about anything mechanical, but seems to come easier with vehicles, engines, and other such contraptions than with things like computers which even to her ability are more complex.
Clothing: Syd is often seen around the garage or hangar where the vehicles are in a set of old faded coveralls littered with grease an oil stains or a dingy old t-shirt and jeans. She keeps her hair back in a bandanna and usually has a pair of work gloves either on or hanging from a pocket. Being a military woman Sydney also has the full regalia of Marines Corp uniforms which are worn when appropriate.
Jewelry: The only jewelry Syd wears is a chain with dog tags around her neck that bears a few other small trinkets generally tucked into her shirt.
Character Personality: Syd is best described as one of those women who's just 'one of the guys'. Having had an interest in building things and how things tick since she was young Syd grew up with legos, model cars, and toolboxes rather than dolls and makeup. She's got an easy temper, but has fought hard to control it in the course of training as a marine and made quite a bit of progress. Still, Syd is often very smart-arsed and quick to come out with sarcastic, if joking, remarks. On the flip-side, once you've made a friend of her she can be counted on to stand up for you when it comes to what's fair and just, even when the majority is against it. Her squad is more often treated like younger siblings than officers under her command, though there is clearly a bond there to where they know when she's serious and it's time to get down to business.
Description:
Generally half stuffed under a car or head first in an engine block, Sydney Brooke, better known as Mechs, is a tall, tomboyish woman more often covered in grease than not. She tops out at 5'11" with ruddy red-toned skin hinting at some Native American background and her shoulder blade-length hair trussed in a ponytail and bandanna out of the way. True to her field of expertise, Syd is more often seen in a pair of scruffy old faded coveralls with a USMC logo on them spotted with ground in grease and oil stains that just never did quite come out, a pair of sturdy if worn brown of black sneakers or shoes with non-slip bottoms. She keeps a pair of gloves on hand and toolbelt about her waist when in the garage. Outside of the garage she's fond of her tanks often emblazoned with the Marines logo "The Few. The Proud." and a comfy pair of pants or jeans.

Overall Ref:

Claudia Black (Played in Stargate SG-1 Series)
Hairstyle Ref: Something similar to Sam from the Body part's shop on Gaia [link] Also a good ref for the coveralls, but Syd wouldn't wear hers open like that.
Clothing Ref: Aside from the above, something like [link] or [link] plus an apron would work as well. Feel free to embellish and have fun with it. Her tank or overalls/coveralls should generally be embellished with a Marines logo ([link] or [link]) on them.
Shoes: Any sort of heavy duty sneaker or shoe would work
Pose ideas: These don't have to be used if you get inspiration for something else, but good poses would be 1) holding a wrench/tool like she's fussing at someone, 2) posed like she's under a car working or bent over an engine working, 3) Just a general pose with a wrench/tool in hand would be fine as well
