Ashe shrugged, "I don't know. My family's been living in that house for generations. We've just learned to live with the woods as our backyard." She stopped and dropped to the ground. She walked a bit off the path for a few seconds and came back with a dead rabbit. "Dinner!" she said with a smile.
The rabbit was large, larger then normal. It also had a row of spickes coming down it's back and a long, barbed tail instead of a normal one. Ashe wrapped the barb in a cloth and strung the rabbit on a string. "We use to keep a few back in the house, but as the forset grew the rabbits where eaten or ran off. These are their desendants. Just as stupid and dosile as normal ones, but have a bit of protection. Barb's not poisonouse, but sharp as hell." She climbed back up in the trees she continued on towards her home.

"Interesting," Freya pondered as she placed a finger on her chin in thought. "I've learned the ways of living with the dangerous sea. Although it may seem easy to just float on a ship, it takes skill and heart to sail a hearty vessel like the one my pops owns. Great storms come and go, trying to send 'er to Davey Jones' Locker, but she gets through it with us behind the reins. Giant serpents swim by, too, and try to tackle holes into 'er bottom levels, but we get the bloody harpoon out and kill them before they can harm 'er," she explained as they walked to Ashe's house.
A small sigh broke past her lips in memory of her home, but she shook her head and continued on with her stories. "A giant fish even tried to take 'er out one time. A fish for Pete's sake! It was like a giant Anchovy or something. It was simple to kill and mighty delicious..."

Io chuckled at the thought of a giant sardine trying to eat a ship. She grinned a little as a funny little scene popped into her head of the Giant Sardine Battle, "I bet it was very delicious," She chuckled.

Ashe chuckled a bit at Freya's account of the giant fish. "I would like to sail one day..." she said wistfully. Soon her noise picked up the sent of wood smoke and smiled. She cupped her hands over her mouth and imitated a Screech Owl's call. She lowered her hands and heard a Horned Owl call in return. "Ok, they know we're on our way."
Shortly she brought the group to a small log and stone cabin. It was built on stilts and had a chicken coop up on the thatched roof. A small stone wall with no openings surrounded the yard and she could see her mother and sister cooking, her father was standing on the stone wall, watching them. She smiled and jumped down from the trees and handed the rabbit to him. "I hope this will help with the extra mouths we have to feed."
Her father, Adrock, smiled through his white beard. He was a tall, robust man, tough from living in the Forest. His face was scarred, but it was the face of one who smiled easily. Ashe took most of her looks from him. Her mother and sister took the rabbit. Both were small women with brown hair and quick eyes, their faces betrayed the temper both had and the scathing tongue. Her brother came into view from the other side of the house, he too had been collecting the traps. He was tall and looked like their father, but with their mother's hair. "Welcome, travelers. Come in, share our roof. You have a long trip ahead of you." He turned and, stepping off the wall, walked inside the house to set the table up for the newcomers.((Long post, but I really wanted to describe the house and her family.))

She smiled warmly at the family and inclined her head in greeting.
"Thank you very much for allowing us to stay here. It means a lot to be welcomed."
