**Disclaimer** There are a few specifics to take into consideration with this spell.
1)Do NOT,and I repeat, NOT go pulling out perfectly good railroad spikes that are holding tracks down. Its undoubtedly against the law and perfectly dangerous. Think of a huge derailment accident as the threefold law taking affect if you pull out a spike thats in use. scream
2)If you don't somewhat own the property you live on, please don't go digging a huge @$$ hole or drive the spike into the ground destructively. If you move into an apartment or some such place where garden work is usually out and the potential of your hard-sought-after spike being stolen is high, keep it indoors.
Ok! Spell time!
You will need:
-1 OLD railroad spike*
-1 White ribbon (For all-purpose protection)
-1 Green ribbon (For the flow of prosperity)
-1 Pink ribbon (For friendship and happiness)
-A black, permanent marker (or if you're inclined, heavy duty model paint)
Personally, I'd do this sort of spell on a Thursday, when the moons waxing or full. Then again, if you wanted to switch the colors a bit and turn this into a protection spell, you might wanna wait till a Saturday when the moon is waning. ITs up to you but Im in the mood for positive spells at the moment.
Now! Obtaining a spike is relatively easy for those of us who live near train tracks. They'll usually be nasty, old, rusted up, and bent at all kinds of funny angles. Most of the time, you'll find them a little ways off from the tracks themselves, maybe two or three feet. For those of you who havent seen railroad tracks in your life let alone a spike...might wanna think of an alternative (say...a nail?), or look em up online. The more...Voodoo inclined...online stores tend to have them xp
Next step is to tie the three ribbons towards the head, and wind them around the spike (think of a maypole). While you do this, picture your new home being a place of warmth and happiness. If your planning on kids, picture your little runts running around and playing. Think of good thought about what you think a home truly is. Visualization is the key here.
When you're finished, tie the ribbons off at the bottom (doesn't matter how, just so long as they stay in place). With your marker (or paints), start to draw a pentagram (or similar shape of power) on top of the spikes head. line by line, say something like the following:
"By Air this homes laughter is rife
and with Fire installs the passion for life.
Water purifies and cools every corner of this land
While Earth protects it with a loving hand.
May Spirit bless this home so dear,
With hope, and love, and warmth and cheer."
Circle around the pentagram, to seal your spell, and take it outside. I recommend sticking in the ground right outside your front door or steps, or perhaps in a garden. Theres always the old standby of placing a few of these beauties on the perimeter of your property as well, if you're lucky enough to find more than two spikes.
*Notes* Um, when I say "Old", I mean it. These spikes are usually mangled up and quite un-useful. However, theres the chance someone might know someone in their family that has access to brand-new spikes, and I say they're perfectly fine to use as well. Just...dont go pulling up ones that are in use....
Also, and I say this cause its most likely to be my case for years and years to come, this is alright to do if you're renting. We rent a rather nice home where the landlord actually encourages us to do gardening and work like that. Sticking a spike near the steps wasn't detrimental at all, and upon moving, it can be removed. I do however dont recommend transplanting the spike. It was intended to bless that home, and if you choose to remove it upon leaving, see to it that it is dismantled and make a new one for your new home.
