Hi. I'm having problems motivating myself to keep learning. I'm very enthustiastic when coming on gaia threads and guilds, going on learning french websites but when I have the text books, which look really interesting. It kinda becomes overwelming and confusing [especially grammar]

This summer I'm trying to teach myself some more french to improve it for school after the summer. I'm intermediate and so i'm trying to now focus on improving my acccent, confidence speaking, verbs and have a better understanding of the french grammar [ and grammer in general]
What i'm asking is... How is should manage my learning?

If someone could write a checklist or a list of things i should try and learn in order of importance.

I've had 1 year of french. I'm using the grammar pages of Deux Mondes 5e to learn french. I started with the last chapter and am working my way backwards because it's more interesting that way.

I'm not learning french, but have experience with self learning language.

Try to make a fun project for yourself to do in French.

Try watching a movie in french and learn all the vocab in it. Also see what structure and what sort of things you understand from it without subtitles.

This can also be done with music.

Or try to read on of your favorite books in french. Usually you may feel excited to read on of your favorites, so it may seem fun to read in another language. Also you already have an idea of what the context of the book is, so if you translate wrong, you may know or have a feeling that you've done so.

And I guess last, flash cards... I don't know, I find flash cards fun to learn from. I could learn for hours a day just from flash cards. gonk

Also stay organized, make goals of what you should learn within the day or within the week. Whether it be learning a whole chapter from a textbook, or just learning more than 100 vocab. The more goals you make and more effort you put into keeping that goal, that more organized and manageable learning the language will be.
