Contact was ok, but I think people went expecting something that wasn't forthcoming, which is why there's disappointment around that title. I'm not going to count First Contact as a straight-up alien contact film, though, because it covers more ground that merely that. I'll go for Close Encounters of the Third Kind off the top of my head.

I just watched the movie *The Knowing* and I'm not sure if you will count that as a contact movie but it is the best one along with *Signs* I think that I've seen. cool wink 3nodding

I don't know exactly, but I really disagree with Ginger- I thought AVP sucked.

Niran_Betta_Fish ymPsiegetanK I don't know exactly, but I really disagree with Ginger- I thought AVP sucked. Alas, it's tue. Now the original Alien? That's an excellent first contact movie. It's technically not the first contact though, they're going in to a first contact situation to pick up the xenomoprh accidentally.
