Home Life : Erik grew up with his family, his mother Terri, a lawyer, his father, Craig, a stay at home father, and his sister and brother, Anna and Ian. They are all muggles. Erik is adopted, so he doesn't know his real parents. They were probably wizards.
Diving deeper : Erik has grown up with a loving family. He enjoys reading, and playing with the family dog, Casper. He is the quiet sort, until you get to know him, when he becomes rather loud and goofy. He's a klutz, and very forgetful, but rather tidy. He has organized messes, he knows where everything is, but it usually gets cleaned up by someone or other. He is very smart, enjoys logic puzzles, strategy, and art in all forms. (He's not a bad actor, and a pretty good singer.) He has a very strong sense of justice, but his big mouth usually leads him into trouble. He has a tendency to blurt things out, then regret it later. He has a curious nature, and will question everything that interests him.
Taking a closer look :

Turning the corner, Erik headed up the driveway, the dog bounding at his heels. He pushed open the gate, unclipped Casper's leash, and headed to the back door. Casper was already there, pawing at the door to be let in. Erik noticed something by his foot. Bending down to retrieve it, he realized it was a letter.
'That's strange,' Erik thought, 'Why leave a letter at the back door?'
He read the front of the envelope. It was adressed to him, in a weird ink. Casper interupted his thought by barking. Erik looked and saw he was barking at an owl.
'But it's still daytime...'
After sushing the dog, he opened the door, and let himself and Casper in. Casper headed right to his water bowl, and Erik headed into the living room.
He sat down on the couch, and tore open the letter. He began to read.
'Dear Mr. Erik De Luca,
Yow have been accepted at Hogwarts School of...'
