Story Welcome to a world torn by horrible crimes. And not just the crimes committed by the humans in their protected little worlds. But the crimes that are acted out by the creatures thought to be legend. The creatures known as the vampires, werewolves, and the many more hidden species that coexist with the simple-minded humans.
But what can the world do when so few know of the existence of such creatures? Join the newest proposal for a solution to this new problem, or fight it. Now you can be the creatures causing trouble and wreaking havoc, or you can join in as piece-by-piece the newest crime fighting group appears.
One human has made the choice to send a single vampire slayer after one specific vampire to begin a truce. A truce in which the vampire will work beside her enemy to save the world from its coming doom.

Her Past
Her name was Ana once. That was so long ago, though, that she rarely gave that as her name now. Some called her Tera. Others call her Thief. But the one they used the most is The Hunter.
She lives here in the forest of Wisconson, hidden deep in the trees and far from most prying eyes of the humans. They only occasionally stumble upon Ana's humble abode in the core of a hollowed out tree next to the tired stream that struggles over the rounded stones.
It all started five hundred and sixty-two years ago. That's right, 562 years ago. She felt old most of the time. But not too old for a vampire.
She wanted to be a rich girl when she was human. It could be expected from her era.
Ana's father was a moderately funded man with six children, of which she was the eldest. And as for Ana, she favored her mother's appearence. She is short, even for a woman trapped at the age of nineteen. Her hair is the color of golden silk, her eyes the color of a lagoon's clean, crystal waters, and her smooth skin the shade of a new ivory pendant.
She once lived in London.
Enough said, right? Ana was often jealous of the fancy dresses the rich girls wore. Their ribbons and their shoes. And when she met the new man in town, Ana was struck with what she knew was love, just as a hundred other doting females were.
The man moved into a house across the river from Ana's family. Kendel was a tall, extremely striking figure to see just walking down the street in his black clothes, knee-high boots, and his heavy coat. He was rich. Of course. And she was not.
Ana had no money.
He paraded around the city with his menservents, his sister Caroline, and his usual following female residents, whispering into their silk shawls and their gloves.
And yet, Kendel, with his perfect, golden skin, black eyes, sharp nose, muscled arms, and curly amber-colored hair, came towards Ana that day. Her of all people.
It was a cold, snowy day in her hometown. Ana was chasing my youngest sister, Peggy-Sue and trying to hold onto her second youngest sibling at the same time, her brother Collin. Peggy ducked between women that were clutching babies.
Peggy-Sue ran for her little life through the deepening drifts of white. Collin told Ana that he would catch Peggy-Sue and she hesitantly agreed after many of his complaints and protests. He vanished after the six-year-old as soon as she released his grubby hand.
Ana's feet ached, and her shoulders were burdened with her damp cloak. Ana was wearing a thick, dark blue petticoat over her light blue skirts and thin, worn-out shoes that hurt her toes.
She sat down on a creaky bench and pulled off her shoes to see the painful blisters on the back of her thin heels. They stung and pain rolled, prickling, up Ana's shins, making me grimace. When he spoke, it made her jump.
"Those are some terrible blisters, miss."
Ana looked up at Kendel and crammed her torn feet back into her shoes, despite the pain she was in. She leapt to her feet and curtsied to him politely. He simply nodded in reply. "Miss Ana Durhamm, sir."
"Ana? What a lovely name. I am Sir Kendel Willams," he said with a broad smile, gesturing to himself. The sun made a halo around his head in the snowflakes.

"There's no need to put those shoes back on," Kendel told me with a slight frown. "Let me get you some nice, new boots so that you can walk," he said.
Ana blinked with surprise when he offered her his hand. And she took it. He beamed pleasantly at her and she smiled tremulously, uncertain if she should be so comfortable around this man.
And so Ana's heart was stolen by the twenty-year-old stranger. And with it, all hope of a normal life. She fell in love with her Kendel Willams and she fell hard. They were engaged to be married within four weeks. Her father was all for it, too.
Then came the night of the rain storm. Ana was alone, trapped on the wrong side of the bridge and the river.
The river was too swollen for me to cross safely. So Ana stood beneath the porch and huddled away from the flooded streets. She nearly wept with joy when she saw Kendel headed towards her. He was anxious, she could tell.
"Ana, my dear, what are you doing out here?" he cried.
Ana fell into his embrace and he kissed her warmly, as he always did. "I was worried, Kendel. I can't get home!" she said with fear. "How will I check on my family?"
"Don't worry about them," he told me calmly. "I'm sure they will be fine, Ana. Come with me," Kendel said softly and soothingly.
Ana hesitated, torn between her father and her family and going with the man that she loved. So she chose the easiest option. She went with him. "Alright, I'll come with you. But can we check on them in the morning?" she asked slowly.
He kissed her hair and laughed quietly. "Sure, Ana. We can check on them as soon as we get up and are through with breakfast in the morning," he assured me.
Ana smiled weakly and nodded. "Alright."
Kendel wrapped his arm and coat around her, sheltering her from the drive of wind and rain against their backs as she scurried up the road and towards his good-sized home. It had all white walls, inside and out, and beautifully crafted windows, doors, and a roof.
He took her indoors and she shivered when one of the maids strode past with a tray in her hands and then vanished.
"I hope father is okay," Ana commented softly.
Kendel sighed and shook his head. "Please, Ana, stop worrying about them! They will be just fine, I promise," he told her.
But she never did see them again. Instead, she was trapped forever in the horrible fate.
Kendel took Ana to one of his guest rooms, and there, she discovered what he was. But Ana was far too late for her own good.
His sharp, cruel fangs buried into Ana's throat after he locked them alone in the room and then Ana's world was taken from her. After that, she never saw him again either. Because she killed him.

Ana took a deep breath, opened her eyes slowly, and yawned. She sat up wearily and rubbed her eyes. Groaning tiredly, she inspected the inside of her dead, hollowed-out tree with boredom and ignored the pain that her stomach gave her.
She yawned weakly, looked down at her bony wrists miserably, and poked her head out of the tree, yawning again. And she got the alarm of her life.
Twelve humans. Staring at her with alarm. One of the females screamed fearfully. She had seen Ana's fangs. All of the humans had, by the expressions on their pale, horrified faces. "What is that?" the woman shrieked.
Ana had no choice. She had to do it. And when she was finished hiding the bodies of the humans, she ran for her life through the forest.
