[I will make a sacrifice!]
Name: Ladyumbra
Guardian: Lien Basain
Sacrifice/importance to the guardian: Replica treasure map.
Lien has always had a great fascination and love of maps of all sorts, they became key in his role as navigator for the military unit he served in. He still collects any of interest he comes across even to this day. A replica treasure map he picked up that day, one with actual named landmasses and seas is something he'd find great value in and yet be willing to part with for the sake of the situation at hand.
Herald's name: Orion
Herald's gender:Male
Prompt chosen: A
Prompt response:

"We'll be right back after these messages"

Orion's gaze dropped away from the tv the moment the words were said and his focus immediately redirected itself on the book spread open before him. The boy himself lay comfortably on his belly on the plush carpeting of the living room, able to enjoy both the t.v and his book in small doses as his attention flicked from one to the other as needed.

As he stared at the colourful pictures in the book Orion took in each detailed image that made up the whole collage. The young winged child chewed on his lower lip while he tried to concentrate. A bad habit of his that had lead to torn lip skin, chapped lips and inevitably cracking and bleeding when he didn't remember to care for them properly after his nibbling attacks. Still Orion insisted it helped him think..even if he never actually really remembered doing it in the first place.

Thinking was important right about now thought; even as his eyes worked over the picture and scanned it in a grid like pattern, the herald struggled to find what he was looking for. Waldo, the ever elusive Waldo was somewhere on the two pages that lay open before him and Orion was determined to find the tricky traveler. The man in his fairly memorable and recognizable red and white striped sweater and bobble hat was still rather hard to search out.

Perhaps just perhaps, Orion thought that if he finished the book and found Waldo on each set of pages he'd figure out the secret to why the man kept hiding? So many books asked you to find him and while Orion enjoyed the challenge of searching he was starting to get curious as to why Waldo hid so often?

Was he a criminal? If he was that was a rather bad disguise. Perhaps Waldo was a good person who had bad people chasing him but then why was he in books where they were supposed to find him? It just didn't make sense to Orion, if you were hiding there had to be a reason and yet no reason he thought of really worked.

Then again hiding itself seemed silly t-

" Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?"

Ah the show was back! Orion's train of thought was cut off, his head jerked up and his attention was once again drawn back to the tv, to the hunt for the female master thief Carmen. She of the long red jacket and fedora with it's yellow stripe. Well usually yellow sometimes he saw pictures of her hat with a black stripes and his father said it had to do with that she wore under the trench coat. That had just further confused Orion becuase really why? Why let everyone know what colour your clothes were by using your hat? Why did they need to know at all?

Still Orion loved to watch this show becuase he actually wanted to know where Carmen was and he worked hard to follow the clues and guess where she had gone. The boy already knew why Ms. Sandeigo hid from people, she stole things like math, and beans and the history of medicine, how did you steal the history of something?

Why she stole the stuff at all though was never explained, they always just said she was bad. How could anyone just be bad? No one was born that way, Orion was sure of it . He'd once told his father he thought the bully at school was born evil but his father had said no one was born mean or bad, that life made them that way. If that was true then something must have made Carmen Sandeigo want to steal. What that something was though he had no idea, though he was determined to find that out too someday.

Why did she steal, why was Waldo hiding, why did they both wear outfits with bright red that were easy to spot? These things plagued the child's mind as he tried to follow along with the program, his small wings twitched every now and then as he got excited or distressed while thinking.

Why? A question hated by most parents and yet adored by Orion especially when it came to people. Why anyone ever did anything.. that was an eternal question really and yet for Orion every day he felt he was sure he was closer to the answer.

Notes/comments:
* Carmen is actually stated as stealing for the challenge more often than not if they give a reason in the show or game being played at the time however they don't always hence why Orion only knows they say she is bad.
** yellow or orange stripe on her hat indicated a yellow or orange sundress under her trench coat, black indicated a black catsuit.

Orion is naturally curious in that due to the treasure maps influence he likes to find things and in certain circumstances find things out. He is perhaps never happier then when he'd completed a search or satisfied his curiosity
