1~Ice- Pretty simple with this one. The floor becomes solid ice. There are random chunks of ice protruding from the floor. And of course, you have little to no traction.
2~Desert- Pretty much nothing but massive sand dunes. You sink down into the sand, which slows you down a LOT. If the wind blows, the sand gets kicked up, which obscures vision.
3~Open Field- A plain grassy field with nothing on it.
4~Ocean- A mini ocean about 40 feet deep. There are five floating platforms for battlers to stand on. The plat forms bob around and it's really hard to keep your balance on them.
5~Dense Forest- The arena is packed from wall to wall with dense, tropical trees. As in any tropical jungle, there are lots of vines and other such things to get tangled up in.
6~Land of Fire- Parts of the arena floor sink away, leaving behind pits of lava. Also, pillars of fire erupt from the floor periodically.
7~Concrete- A plain concrete floor.
8~The Abyss- Near complete darkness engulfs the arena. Dark energy is abundant in this field.
9~The Sanctuary- Opposite of the Abyss. Light energy fills the arena. Its very bright!
10~No floor- The floor drops away leaving a pit filled with spikes. There are levitating platforms at varying heights, going all the way to the top of the arena. It's hard to jump from platform to platform, and trust me, you don't want to fall.

Ginseku scratched his fuzzy hair, trying desperately to gain grip on the flea that was wriggling it's merry way around his scalp. He'd spent the night at Austin's, and wouldn't you know it? Somehow he managed to get a damn FLEA. In the middle of the DESERT. "Come here you little b*****d..." "Excuse me, sir?" Ginseku paused, forgetting for a moment he wasn't alone in the hall; The test proctor coughed before continuing to turn and face him. Gin pinched the flea from his hair and twisted it to death. "Sorry my man, didn't mean you, i meant this 'lil bugger right here.." Ginseku tossed the flea aside. "Ah. I see. Well then, let's continue..your testing room isn't much farther." Ginseku nodded at this suggestion, as it was a good one. "Right then, lets go." The two continued down the long hallway, passing other random students as they went until they found themselves waiting in an empty room with nothing but a large rudimentary speaker hoisted up in the corner of the room, and a small, dim, in-lain light in the ceiling. ________________________________________________________
Austin took a deep drag of his cigarette, rubbing his eyes. He'd pulled an all-nighter with Gin last night, and the massive bowls of reefer were finally taking their toll... Austin yawned, exhaling a small cloud of smoke. He was unsure why the test proctor had asked him to watch Gin's test, Maybe Gin had requested it. Either way it went, He planned on smoking a bowl and passing out in the audience room...after watching Gin's fight, of course. The school guide stopped in front of a door, and Austin came back to attention for it. "This is your viewing room. Please avoid smoking in here, there's limited air-flow." That was god-damned wonderful news, son. Thank you. "Right-o, man." Austin pitched his cigarette in a nearby trash can, then made his way into the audience room. He flipped on the dim light, and peered into the empty testing room. He plopped down in the leather chair in the middle of the room after locking the door, and immediately busted out with his articles of personal interest; His trees, his blunts, his pipe, and his Zippo lighter. It was gonna be a damn good test. "Air tight room indeed, sir." Austin lit a blunt and got started immediately. ___________________________________________________ Kirai followed the test proctor swiftly, almost at his side. He'd slept in today, which was rather unlike him, considering his training regimen. "Am I going to be disqualified for being late?..." "No sir, you shouldn't be, we get late entrants all the time. You're not the only one to get extra winks of nap." What a queer statement that was, Kirai thought. Sounded like something a stoner would say. Kirai lifted his tag, taking a quick glance at the symbols inscribed. '.....My first test...' "We're here." Kirai looked up, and saw that the test proctor was holding open a door for him. He walked through it, and found himself in a dimly lit room. It was rather depressing, it reminded him of something he'd seen in SAW II. "...what now?" "When everything is ready, they'll call you in." The test proctor pointed at the speaker in the corner of the room. __________________________________________________________ Sendo moaned in disappointment; He'd been waiting for half an hour now in the blasted audience box for Kirai's test. The fool was late. LATE! That never happened to Kirai, it was always Sendo! He pulled back the casing of his gun, wiping off the thin layer of oil he'd applied earlier to lubricate it. He released it, and it sprung back with a definite thud, assuring the large amount of recoil each bullet ******** wolf-boy, hurry up. I'm getting bored here." ___________________________________________________________
There was a loud buzz of noise in the waiting rooms, one similar to a warning siren. *Enter the testing room now. Your environment of battle is 10; No floor. Please, avoid falling off the platforms, we hate cleaning up your messes.*
Gin and Kirai made their way through the steel-plated doors opposite each other in the arena, and they swung shut immediately afterwards. Their eyes met instantly. The silence grew thicker, and the bloodlust in the room spiked to a frightening level. _________________________________________________________ Austin ashed the blunt, taking a deep puff of it afterwards. There was a feint buzz somewhere in the distance, followed by some garbled speech. Austin sat up in his chair, exhaling some smoke. "About friggin time..blunts by themselves suck, Gin." Austin peered through the tinted glass wall at Ginseku's figure as he stepped through the door. His eyes flashed to a small pop-up on the window; apparently it was also a computer screen. Austin walked up to it to read it. *Testing room No.10 Testing students; Ginseku Shirokiba/Kirai Kurokiba. Testing Environment: No floor* Austin choked on his hit immediately when he read the second name. He looked through the window and stared at Kirai, who was giving Gin the most murderous look he'd ever seen. He felt the air thicken to unbelievable friction in the room. _______________________________________________ Sendo sat up in his chair when he heard the buzzer. He assumed that Kirai was about to enter the arena, and he sent his attention immediately to the first thing he saw; Gin walking through the door. "What the fu-" Sendo's eyes shot across the arena, following Gin's. THERE he was; Kirai, in the flesh. And apparently, the other person was somebody Kirai had a deep hatred for, because he immediately felt the energy of hatred skyrocketing in the testing arena. He loved it, it was delicious. He could kill an ARMY of people with this much hatred around. Sendo took a seat in the suede chair, leaning back to enjoy the wonderful aura that was latent in the air. "What bliss, this drama..." ______________________________________________________
"You." "Indeed. You." Kirai was unsure exactly what had just happened; did God throw him a freebie? Here his most hated enemy stood before him, in a locked room with nobody to help him. Ginseku was ******** dead.
Ginseku felt his heart beat erupt. It was Him. Gin had sworn to kill this demon in The Door...He'd sworn it upon his blood and anguish. On his life. That he, the demon which hunted him eternally, would haunt his shadows no longer. That he would be free of running forever, here, now.
Gin leapt first, but Kirai was just as quick, and they met in the middle of the room. Gin struck at Kirai with lighting-quick side kicks, but Kirai evaded with liquid-like movement, and swung his scroll upward, hoping to catch Gin's jaw and split it; Gin leaned back not a moment too soon, he got away with a mere paper-cut to his chin. He flipped backwards with effort, lifting his foot to kick Kirai in the gut and send him backward a few feet. Gin landed on his own, then took his stance. He leapt forth again, but dropped short when the floor began to rumble. There were small puffs of air as circles of varying sizes formed in the floor, then detached and spiked upwards into the airspace of the arena. Ginseku managed to hop onto one of the lower ones when they surfaced, and Kirai was standing on a circle that had spiked to the higher part of the arena. "Come forth, minions! Strike at my enemy with thine blades of hate!" Kirai swung his scroll, and one of the Runes inscribed upon it glowed red. there were several summoning diagrams of red in the air as Lower blood-ogres appeared on random platforms, each wielding a large red sabre coated in old blood. One sluggishly jumped down from it's current platform, making it's way towards Ginseku. ______________________________________________________
"Dude, Get'im! Rising dragon!" Austin puffed on his blunt hard, then pitched the pitiful roach. He was majorly involved now, his friend was fighting for his life and limbs in there. _____ Sendo giggled at the display of power the two put on in the first few seconds. It was magnificent, this bloodlust lingering about. It almost made him want to join in.. 'Come now, Kirai won't get mad..just tell him I said to do it..' Sendo shook his head. That nasty ol' b*****d was trying to get him to do things again..it was probably because of all the hatred in the air. "Shut up, you. If you want to kill something, you'll have to wait until i'm done watching this." ________________________
Gin leapt from his platform, catching the edge of one not too far away, and kicked up at the bottom with his feet to swing-launch backwards and feet-first into the air. His feet were met with the face of one of the blood-ogres, whom promptly, with his weak sense of balance on a platform, fell over the edge and into the pit of spikes below. Ginseku however, thrust his palms outward, and used the body resistance from the ogre to handstand back into a standing stance. He jumped off immediately, heading platform by platform in Kirai's direction.
Kirai laughed in amusement at his minion's quick death, and decided maybe Ogres weren't the best choice for this environment. He disbanded them with a swing of his scroll, and leapt forth to stop Ginseku's advance. He threw a flurry of punches and eventually landed one in Ginseku's gut. Ginseku nearly crumpled, and Kirai followed up this punch with a knee to Ginseku's face that sent him rolling off of the platform. "Pierce the air and tear the flesh!" Kirai swung his scroll, and a pair of Blade Harpies appeared in the airspace immediately next to him. They shrieked, and with a flap of their sharpened, metal-laden wings, they darted for Ginseku, who had found the resolve to flip and land on another platform near the bottom of the pit.

Gin wasted no time in flipping to dodge the first harpy, whom had darted at him with a flap of her wings in an attempt to impale him with her bladed armor. Ginseku came down upon her, and thrust a flat-palm blade through her armor and bones. The harpy slammed to the ground in anguish, Ginseku still on her back. He dug further and gripped her heart, then ripped it from her body. The other harpy attacked, while Ginseku was pre-occupied with the first, and slashed his back, causing deep and bloody gashes. --------- ‘Now’s my chance!’ Kirai leapt with great speed, knowing that if he missed this moment to strike, the battle could very well turn on him instantly.
Ginseku cried out, and turned to get the harpy back in his line of vision. He pulled several shuriken from his coat, and then flung them all at the harpy. She quickly formed a defensive cage with her wings, and the shuriken limply bounced off with light jingles of metal touching metal. Ginseku threw more, trying to keep the harpy busy, while he reached into his pocket for an explosive tag. --------- The harpy flexed her wings, tiring of the shell she found herself in, and knocked aside the oncoming shuriken. She dove at Ginseku, exactly as the first had, and he dropped backwards to a laying position, barely missing death by a few inches. He slapped the tag onto the left breast of the harpy as she swiftly glided over his body, and gave her a wink as he did so. When she had passed him and resumed a strafing position in the air to attack again, the tag set ablaze and instantly exploded, killing her. Kirai attacked in this moment, finding Ginseku slow on the recovery from his dodge, and pierced his left kneecap with his tag. Ginseku screamed out in agony, a small stream of blood dripping profusely from his wound. Kirai withdrew his tag as sloppily as he could from Gin’s wound to cause him more pain. Kirai laughed as Ginseku cried out again in excruciating pain. “…You see what happens when you leave an enemy to live? When you don’t grant them a warrior’s death?...They come back to avenge their honor. You were foolish to leave me there, Ginseku. Laying in a puddle of my own blood, much as you are now. The only differences between now and then are the victor, and who shall decide mercy. I am your judge now, Ginseku. Your jury. And your executioner. Now beg for your life, you pathetic whelp, so I can enjoy killing you!”
Ginseku was disgusted; this foolish BlackFang had not understood his gift to him. He’d lived every moment of his life in pain, in sadness. In regret, and in hatred. All because of that day… “You’re worthless trash. You don’t value the gift of life…You’re right. I should’ve killed you when I had the chance.” That sent Kirai over the edge. He immediately slashed at Ginseku, giving him several paper-thin cuts along the edges of his shins. Ginseku cried out in pain; big cuts hurt, sure, but thin cuts like that made a bigger fuss in the receiver. “Call me trash!? I’LL SHOW YOU WHO’S TRASH!!” Kirai drew back his arm, and his scroll stiffened into a blade. “DIE YOU WORTHLESS MUTT!” --------- Austin couldn’t take it anymore; Ever since Kirai had grounded Ginseku, he’d been debating whether or not to help him out of his current situation. He knew he’d hate him for it, but…This fool’s life was in jeopardy, he couldn’t merely stand by and watch it pass. He summoned up all of his energy immediately when Kirai began slashing at Gin’s legs, and went into a crouching position in the back of the audience box. He put his hands together and clasped them tight, interlocking all his fingers except for the index, and outstretched his arms. The air in the room began to churn intensely, forming a small whirlwind around Austin. It quickly wrapped around his body, forming an aura-like shield. “Wind bullet!” Austin sprung from his crouched position, spinning rapidly and piercing through the glass window of the audience box. He flew across the arena at breakneck speed, and knocked the death-blow off course of Ginseku’s neck. “And now, YOU die!” Kirai was utterly dumbfounded by the events following his utterance; Some random whirlwind had come through the wall of the testing arena and blown his victory off-course. And before he knew what was happening, he received several punches to his torso and face, followed up with what felt like Iron bars crashing against his legs and knees. He stumbled backwards in pain, trying desperately to shield his face and regain control of the situation; he could not. Before he could launch a counterattack, he found himself hit with a force he could only compare to a battering ram in the center of his chest, which found him breathless and in shocking pain. He backed away limply, trying to escape the pain he was receiving, and fell over the edge of the platform. He crashed into one about three stories below, and gasped in horror as he felt yet another fresh wave of pain shooting through his body. How did Ginseku do that?...He was inches from death, and yet he still found a way to attack. He breathed shallow, painful breaths, trying to get the stars and darkness to clear from his vision so he could recover. --------- Austin looked down on Kirai with a smirk, then turned around to face Ginseku’s limp form. “Hey.” “Austin?! What are you doing here?! How did you know I was..” Austin was immediately confused. If Ginseku hadn’t requested his presence in the Audience box…who had? “I didn’t, I thought you’d arranged for me to watch your test, but…If you didn’t…” Austin shook his head. This was no time for that. He crossed the platform and immediately began to bandage up Gin’s legs, and applied a healing technique to Gin’s knee, causing the flesh to slowly seal itself shut. “Dude…You need to be more careful. Kirai almost had you..” “I know that! Shut up! Why are you getting involved in this to begin with?!” “You know what? Fine. If you don’t want me helping you, I’m sorry. Excuse me for loving a friend enough to want him to live. As soon as I’m finished here, I’m gonna go to my room, smoke a blunt and pass out. And If you come asking me to patch you up while I’m sleeping, I’m gonna smack you.” --------- Sendo couldn’t believe what was happening; Kirai had finally gotten his opponent to the ground, and he was TALKING to him? “Words are wasted on the dead, Kirai…Silence your mind and strike now.” Sendo smirked a moment later, when Kirai decided to take that little piece of advice and raised his tag to kill Ginseku. That smirk disappeared when a whirlwind came crashing through the wall and stopped Kirai’s attack. “What the ******** understood what had happened a moment later, when he saw Austin giving Kirai all kinds of punches and Thai roundhouses and generally knocking him silly with pain. He even winced a bit when he saw Austin hit him with a flying knee, which caused Kirai to topple off the platform and down to another with a sickly thud. “So the plot thickens…But I will not be witness to this farce. A one-on-one fight was what this began as, and it shall remain so.” Sendo waited a moment, taking aim with his pistol at Austin’s head. He pulled the trigger several times in quick succession, blasting through the glass window with ease. ---------- Austin turned immediately to face the source of gunfire, and receiving a bullet in his shoulder the thickness of a dime, wasted no time in jumping away from the platform, gripping his wound with pain. He leapt again when he was fired upon some more, jumping from platform to platform, trying to prevent another wound. “Come out of there, you Lil b***h! Face me like a man!” Sendo grinned at this, it was rather funny to see the pot call the kettle black. He kicked out the bullet-hole riddled window, and drew his second pistol with his ashy-grey demon hand. “It’s funny you should call me a b***h and yet, just moments ago, you blind-sided my friend down there and interrupted a personal battle.” These words hurt almost more than the large bullet in his body; They were true. Regardless of if Ginseku was about to die, Austin should’ve remained in his audience box. It was obvious these two had history and that this was a personal matter. And here Austin was, sitting right in the middle of it. A moment later, he replied. “I haven’t interrupted squat. I’ve only evened the playing field; That guy down there uses others to defeat his foes. That Ginseku here should have to deal with him, AND his lackies, is unfair.” Ginseku voiced his opinion in this matter, having healed enough to get to his feet now. “The man is right, Austin. Leave this fight to me..” Austin shoved two fingers into his wound, gritting his teeth with vigor as he did. He sloppily gripped the bullet with his fingertips, and yanked it out. He spat on his wound, rubbed it in, and tossed the bullet aside. “Well then. It should seem that since my help is unwanted here, I’ll just have to go about getting YOU back for this bullet here, Mr. b***h. “ Sendo laughed heartily at this challenge, and leapt down from his audience box to a platform opposite Austin’s on the other side of the room. “Go ahead and try, wimpy.” --------- Kirai heard a large amount of gunfire as he rose to a sitting position from the platform. He pushed his thumbs into his eyes, trying to clear the remainder of his stars from his vision. The first thing he saw was Sendo, shooting rounds at whomever it was that had stopped his victory over Ginseku. Kirai growled, and leapt up to his feet to attack him; Ginseku appeared before him on the platform he stood on. “Your fight is with me, BlackFang. Leave Austin be.” Kirai growled and leapt forth, swinging his tag wildly at Ginseku’s head. Gin slipped underneath it and flipped over Kirai, kicking him lightly in the back of the neck before landing. Kirai spun on one foot after quickly regaining his balance, and leapt forth again to slash at Ginseku before he could recover properly from the flip. Ginseku, still having a wounded knee, leaned his torso backwards to avoid the attack and instead of a slashed throat received a slashed chest. He snapped back from this dodge and threw a punch at Kirai, and glanced the side of his jaw enough to knock him back a few feet. Ginseku took a drop of his blood in this moment, made a symbol on his hand, and with a few swift hand-seals, summoned up his trusty katana, Musou. He gripped it with both hands and took an inviting stance. “Come, Kirai. Let’s stop playing now and get serious.” Kirai stood up-right now, and stared at Ginseku with pure malice in his heart. He held his scroll out before him and slid some of the blood from his lip down the length of it. With a burst of red smoke, a Chinese broadsword appeared with the same runes inscribed upon it as the scroll from which it was borne. “ Prepare to die, you filthy WhiteFang.”

Kirai advanced upon Ginseku, slashing at his torso. Ginseku parried, using an under-hand guard to redirect Kirai’s blade over his head to the other side of his body. He slashed when he saw the opening, and Kirai placed his arm in the way of his vitals while scooting away. He received a small gash across his forearm, and promptly moved back in after the blade was out of his way. Ginseku attempted to parry again, but Kirai had grown moments wiser after his first attack, and feinted his original attack to switch to another; He slashed down the length of Ginseku’s injured thigh, drawing more blood from it. Ginseku lifted his good leg, with great effort, and kicked Kirai away from him. Kirai lost his wind for a moment, not expecting a kick, but regained his composure and came back in again for another attack. Ginseku didn’t wait this time; he met Kirai in the center of the platform and crossed swords with him, holding him there for a moment with his remaining strength. Kirai spoke with effort, trying desperately to maintain his position against Ginseku’s sword. “Why won’t you DIE?!” “Good question, why won’t YOU?!” Ginseku ducked down, releasing Kirai’s sword from its hold against his. Kirai, not expecting this, was still putting effort into the power struggle and nearly toppled over when his bodily support was removed. His sword came down in an un-attempted slash, and hit the ground with a metallic ‘TING!’ Ginseku slashed upwards, attempting to cleave Kirai’s jaw in two. Kirai pulled his head back, and instead of dying on the spot, was blinded in his right eye. A red streak of blood appeared in a slightly diagonal slash across his face, and Kirai cried out in agony. “GAHHH! MY EYE!” Ginseku leapt back, resuming his stance. He felt a hint of remorse in doing such permanent damage to Kirai; If he lived to see the end of the day he wouldn’t be seeing it with both eyes. Kirai dropped to his knees, clutching at his eye socket in an attempt to cease the flow of blood and pain that was making itself felt in force. --------- Sendo pumped off the remaining rounds from his first clip, then emptied his second gun as he reloaded the first. Austin dodged as best he could, dancing about on top of the platform and leaping from one to another in an attempt to get close to Sendo. He threw shuriken at him; Sendo stopped them in midair with some quick shooting, knocking them off course and even breaking a few. ‘This guy’s a regular cowboy!’ Austin went on the move again, jumping from platform to platform. Sendo finally ran out of bullets in both of his weapons, and Austin leapt forth without a moment’s hesitation. If he missed this chance to end it, this fight could drag on forever. He reached into his pocket with his good arm, trying to grab a kunai, when he was stopped in his tracks by several shots. Two through his leg; One through his arm. Three in his torso. Austin gasped in pain, and coughed up blood. He fell to his knees and looked up. “How did you-“ “Shoot you with no bullets?” Sendo laughed. “Your hatred, his hatred, Kirai’s hatred. All of it is my ammo; I need no bullets.” Sendo pulled back the slide of his gun to show Austin what he had loaded; A small orb of purple energy swirled and smoked and wriggled in place in the chamber, giving off an Aura of pure malice. He released the slide and it jumped back with a thud. “So, my near-dead-friend, would you mind giving your name before I pass you off to the Styx?” Austin chuckled painfully, spitting up some more blood. “Austin. Austin Gonzales.” Austin stood, though with great effort, and faced Sendo. “And before I do the same to you, what is YOUR name, cowboy?” Sendo grinned. Him? HE would kill HIM? It was amusing, the words that came from his victims. “Sendo Kemuri. Remember that name when the Grim reaper asks who sent you.” Sendo raised his gun and fired again, one last time. Austin stepped aside with apparent ease, despite his injuries. “…What?” Sendo fired again, and again, Austin sidestepped. “You’re only delaying the inevitable, Austin. You know that, don’t you?” Austin lifted his left hand, and removed the boxing tape he had on. “If, by that, you mean my death, then yes, I am.” Austin placed his left hand over his heart, and the twin scars on it began to glow. “The fate of the martyr. The fate of the traitor. Both running side by side..Even now, they burn together, searching for their purpose. Released now they burn the world around them. RELEASED BE THE DEMON!” Sendo fired another shot, not caring for this short monologue and apparent build-up for an attack. Austin smacked the bullet of hate aside, knocking it into the wall with greater force than when it was fired. His hair grew long, and faded from brown to silver-grey. His nails and canines sharpened. His ears retracted, only to re-appear on top of his head as grey wolf ears. Two tails sprouted from his tailbone, one white and one black. His pupils split into slits, the irises turning steel-grey. Sendo didn’t know what was happening here; Austin was transforming into…a wolf-person? ANOTHER WOLF-PERSON? “God, what is it with people here and WOLVES?!” Austin looked up, staring across the room with hallowed eyes into Sendo’s own. Sendo actually felt a small chill work its way up his spine, and following that, the faintest taste of fear on his tongue. He did not know where it came from; He’d never felt fear before, not since his deal with the demon which gave him his arms. Never. “So tell me, Austin, what is this trickery you use now?” Austin remained silent. “Come now, it’s not nice to ignore me when you’re about to die. Tell me what that was just now!” “I’m not Austin. Austin has ceased to be for the moment.” “OH? And who might you be, then?” “I have no name. I’m known only as No. 2.” “No name, but a number? That’s pretty lame. Oh well, even if you were No. 1, you couldn’t beat me.”
“Silence, wretch.” Sendo scrunched his nose in anger and insult. Wretch? “Take this time to lament upon your life. Review everything which you regret, and make amends with it, so I won’t have to deal with your spirit after you’re dead.” “You? Kill ME? It’s even funnier than when Austin said it!” Sendo laughed heartily for a moment, then stared at No.2 with intense focus. “You couldn’t kill me if you had a knife to my throat and half the mind to do it.” Sendo lifted both of his guns, and began firing rapidly at No.2. No.2 moved with liquid-like speed, stepping aside with little more effort than necessary to scratch his nose. Sendo growled a bit in frustration, and leapt to another platform, advancing on No.2 and firing at the same time. No.2 disappeared from sight for a split second, and reappeared on another platform. Sendo fired again, and No.2 disappeared from sight. He reappeared on another platform, but did not remain there for more than half a second; he disappeared from sight and continually shifted from one platform to another, moving in and out of visibility like a mirage. Sendo couldn’t keep up, No.2 was just too fast to track with his eyes; He was so fast, in fact, that it seemed as if there were more than one of him in the room. He dropped his guns and spoke aloud. “You think you’re clever? Using speed to hide yourself like that?...You’re weak.” No.2 stopped moving, taking a stand upon his original platform. “Says the one who can’t hit me.” Sendo growled, then pulled off his overcoat, revealing his spiky demon arms. He held them up, and began to concentrate his hatred and the hatred of all around him. The spikes on his arms began to glow slightly with a purple energy, and little bits of static connected with one another as they dripped down the length of his arms. He closed his eyes, focusing this energy heavily until it began to flow off of his arms in waves. No.2 didn’t wait for Sendo to finish this charge, however; He faded from vision and reappeared next to Sendo. He punched him in the side of his left elbow, causing it to crack painfully. Before Sendo could react, he disappeared again and did the same to Sendo’s right arm, then faded out of vision once more to return to his original platform. Sendo flexed his arms painfully; How had No.2 done that? He’d only closed his eyes for 3 seconds! And he was still on the same platform he was on when he closed his eyes! Sendo popped his arms back into place, and glared at No.2. “Hit and run, huh? That’s okay..I can do that too!” Sendo’s body flickered in a swipe of motion, and before No.2 knew what’d happened, Sendo was behind him and throwing a wide hook with a glowing hand. No.2 turned to face him, barely slipped under the hook, and managed to get away with only a few scratches to the side of his face from Sendo’s arm-spikes before flickering away to another platform. He faced Sendo. “Heh…maybe this won’t be boring after all..” The hiss of burning flesh made itself heard and felt at the same time. No.2 gripped at his new injuries, feeling a burning and great pain arising from them. A small amount of purple smoke wafted off of these cuts, as they bubbled like boiling oil on the side of No.2’s face. He wore a scorn now. Sendo grinned at No.2. “Feel that? That’s the burning power of hatred, boring into your flesh.” “How dare you mark my face so…I’ll crush you.”

Kirai stood, and ripped off a piece of his shirt-sleeve. He tied it gingerly around his head, covering his right eye. Thick blood pooled immediately and dampened the dark fabric, making it slightly red as a bit of overflow dripped down his face. “…If I’m to continue this fight, it shall not be as such.” “What are you saying, Kirai?” “If I die in this manner, I’ll be forever disgraced. Fight me in your true form, Ginseku. With your honor.” Ginseku couldn’t deny this request; It was his clans’ rite of passing that if one should be near death, they could request an end in their true form. It had to be followed. Even if Kirai had no honor after everything he’d done to him, after everything he’d ruined in his life..Kirai was a wolf as well. And this was code. “Very well then. By your lead, Kirai.” Kirai planted his sword in the platform, next to himself. He balled his hands into fists, and crossed his arms over his chest. He remained silent for a moment, and closed his eyes. Smoke began wafting off of him in heavy waves, and soon, he was hidden entirely by it. After a couple moments’ wait, the smoke cleared, and a white wolf stood where Kirai once did. He growled and bore his black fangs at Ginseku, gesturing for him to take his form. Ginseku planted his sword next to him in the platform, then straightened his stance. He held his hands out in front of him, and formed a pair of different hand-seals with each hand. There was a heavy burst of black smoke that rushed away from Ginseku, which cleared after a few moments as well. In Ginseku’s place stood a black wolf with a pair of wings, baring his snow-white fangs at Kirai. He leapt forth, snapping at Kirai’s ear. Kirai managed to swipe his head aside into Gin’s and stop this attack, and leapt aside a bit to make more space. He leapt on Ginseku, snapping at his neck; Ginseku raised his front paws and prevented this, getting away with only a snap on the cheek. He growled when he felt Kirai’s teeth pierce his flesh, and moved his head down to snap at Kirai’s leg. He bit down hard, shaking his head to cause deeper wounds. Kirai felt this pain, and released Ginseku’s cheek to bite his ear and split it down it’s length with a yank of his head. Ginseku let go of Kirai and leapt back to the edge of the platform. They circled, staring at one another. Kirai stopped, turning his body to face Ginseku fully. Ginseku did the same, and lowered his head to bare his fangs again. He growled menacingly at Kirai, and Kirai raised his head to bare his own blackened fangs at Ginseku. Kirai leapt, and Ginseku leapt as well; The two met in the middle and began a power struggle for the position of dominance, neither being able to do any major damage beyond minor nips and scratches to each others’ faces. -------- No.2 flickered out of vision, then reappeared before Sendo with surprising liquidity. He threw a kick into Sendo’s torso; Sendo pulled up his arms in defense, hoping to impale No.2’s feet with his arm-spikes. No.2 faded out of sight before his kick made any contact with Sendo, and reappeared at his left flank. He threw a right cross with amazing speed; Sendo managed to duck it and counter with an attempted uppercut, only to miss by about an inch. No.2 jumped with all his strength, kicking his back leg forward to apply a flying knee to Sendo’s torso. Sendo remembered this technique, and sidestepped it much like a matador would a bull, and punched No.2 in the right kidney with a glowing HateFist strike. No.2 landed and flickered out of vision to reappear on another platform, but Sendo followed this movement and appeared on this platform as well; The afterglow of his strike had left a streak behind, leading him to No.2’s platform of choice. ‘I just need to keep hitting him with the Hate…I can track him if I keep that up. This is my way in!’ Sendo came in with a snap kick, which No.2 promptly ducked under, and gave Sendo a sweep-kick that pulled his grounded foot out from beneath him. Sendo hit the ground hard and before he could roll, was met with an axe-kick to his left collarbone which snapped it into multiple pieces. He cried out in pain, and though it hurt more to do so, he swept his left arm up in an attempt to strike with his spikes; No.2 flipped backwards and landed in the middle of the platform. Sendo hopped to his feet with vigor and shifted to another platform with as much speed as he could muster, then faced No.2. “That was cheap, dog.” “WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!” No.2 didn’t even fade out of vision this time; he was simply there, out of nowhere, before Sendo. His eyes were narrowed in absolute fury, and Sendo couldn’t see what happened next; No.2 threw an insane amount of punches into Sendo’s chest, and finished up this multiple-hit combo with a haymaker to Sendo’s face. It didn’t feel at all like this to Sendo, It felt as if he’d just been hit by an 18-wheeler going full-speed down the highway. He flew across the room instantly, and landed in Austin’s original audience box. His ribs were snapped, and fractured. They felt like they were going to cave in…And they were going to, if he didn’t get immediate medical attention. But even now…He felt his life flickering like an unsure candle in a windy storm. He managed to spit up enough blood to breathe, and pulled himself into a sitting position against the leather recliner, which was still covered in glass from Austin’s first break-out. His breaths grew heavier with each passing second. In his dimming vision, he saw No.2 approaching him with slow, smooth steps. Sendo managed to grin a bit through all his pain, as a kind of final ‘******** you’ to No.2. No.2 crouched down over Sendo, staring him straight in the eyes for a moment, as if almost reading him. Searching him. Sendo’s grin slowly faded, as he felt something within him crawling up from the past; Desperation. Something about No.2’s gaze struck the deepest chords of fear within him.
“Never confuse me as a friend to man. Dogs are nothing more than common pets, whose fangs became dull millennia ago. I’m a wolf.” No.2’s hand shot out, and gripped Sendo’s throat tightly, breaking his Adam’s apple with nothing more than the crook of his thumb. His long nails dug into his jugular veins like miniature daggers; He pushed his fingers in deep, until they were buried in his neck as deep as he could push them. Sendo couldn’t speak; he felt his vision go blank, and his mind go numb and hollow. Flashes of his past began to ring forth, all overtoned by the agonized screaming in his mind from his demon arm-donor. “You see, Sendo Kemuri? I need no knife to kill you. All I need is the mind to do it.” With that said, No.2 gripped as hard as he could on Sendo’s throat, and ripped it from his neck. Blood ran down Sendo’s body in a stream, gushing forth with newfound freedom. No.2, not caring to have his feet resting on blood, lifted Sendo’s corpse and flung it out into the testing arena; It fell with a thick and sick squish upon a spike, which pulled his entrails out of his body and strew them down the length of the spike like popcorn on a Christmas tree. No.2 took a seat in the leather recliner, leaning back to a resting position. He licked his bloody hand clean, wiped the saliva off on his shirt, and grabbed one of the blunts Austin left behind when he forsook his chair. He lit it with Austin’s lighter, and took a deep drag. He looked down upon Kirai and Ginseku’s fight, rather amused by the sight; Two wolves, whose fangs had obviously remained sharp, were going at it with amazing technique. It was to be a close fight, and No.2 was unsure himself what the outcome would be. ---------- And they circled yet again, both moving slowly, each step as apprehensive as the next; They were tired. They had lost blood; Kirai was getting the worst of it, with the loss of his right eye his co-ordination was all but shot, and he had to attack using predominantly left-side strikes. Ginseku’s right wing was lowered, Kirai had bitten down on it at the base, and keeping it entirely supported was more energy than he could afford to use right now. The gashes he’d received earlier from the blade harpies were still fresh, and with each twist and turn of his body, the scabs broke and bled anew. Kirai leapt to the right, and feigned a low left-wards entrance. Ginseku leapt left too, trying to get the upper-hand by staying in Kirai’s blind spot. He leapt upon Kirai; He fell short slightly and was forced to leap back. His knee, though Austin had healed it slightly, still had a cut in the soft cartilage behind his kneecap. Each time he had to make a swift movement, his knee got worse; it was making itself felt now. Ginseku went in for another strike, coming straight in towards Kirai, knowing he would, without better depth perception, see him further to the right than he actually was. He acted on this, and just before reaching Kirai, leapt right for a second to get Kirai to turn. Ginseku quickly went into low-guard, insinuating with his body language that he was hurting. Kirai turned and leapt, seeing an opportune moment to strike. Ginseku used all his strength and flapped his wings, using them to power launch him upwards quickly into Kirai’s guard. Kirai was very surprised at this, and managed to defend barely by nipping at the lower part of Ginseku’s neck/chest where his right leg met his body and ripping out a bit of flesh. Ginseku, however, rendered much more damage to Kirai, biting down on the right side of Kirai’s neck. ------ No.2 giggled in that moment; With their fangs bared and their opposing color schemes, these wolves had just made a yin-yang symbol with their bodies. “This is just too precious, this is.” No.2 finished Austin’s blunt when he started to feel Austin trying to regain control of his body. No.2 frowned. “Oh, hush. I hardly get to come out, and I finally get to see something nice, and you want your body back already? I just beat this guy you were getting killed by.” No.2 pushed back Austin’s conscience with his own, holding him back until the fight had ended. ------ Ginseku and Kirai split up; that last strike had stung worse than expected…Kirai felt his limbs grow heavy. Ginseku felt his head getting lighter. He could almost lay down and go to sleep right there... Kirai leapt at Ginseku, and Ginseku leapt at Kirai; but this effort proved too much for them both. Ginseku became far too light-headed from his blood loss, and went limp in midair. Kirai, having limp limbs at that time, didn’t leap very high off the ground when he attacked; Ginseku crashed head first into him, with his weight striking his own at full force. They knocked each other out, and collapsed next to one another on the platform instantly. ------ No.2 whistled. “Wow. They’re pretty strong for youngsters…But they still have a long way to go before they truly realize their heritage. Especially you, Ginseku Shirokiba…You may have grown in The Door…But you have much more to learn.” No.2 felt Austin nagging at his mind again. Bah. “Fine, fine, you can have your body back. Whatever.” Austin’s silver hair fell away, returning to its original length. His teeth dulled and retracted back to their shorter length, and his nails fell away as well. His wolf ears had become human ears again; His twin tails had disappeared. His pupils returned to their circular form, his irises turning to a deep shade of brown. Austin stood up, feeling ridiculously heavy and exhausted. He looked down into the testing room, wondering what he’d missed. When he spotted Sendo, he wanted to vomit. “Oh my fu-” He held his hand over his mouth, trying to keep himself from gagging. He looked around, hoping No.2 hadn’t done the same to Ginseku. He spotted him, and Kirai, both collapsed on the lowest platform, bloody and bruised. He pulled two kunai and a length of steel wire from his back pocket, placed one of the kunai in the wall, and after tying the wire to both of the ends of the kunai, threw the second one down to make a zipline. Austin slid down the line, and picked up Ginseku’s knocked out form after landing on his platform. He folded his wings gingerly, cradling him in his arms. He looked over at Kirai, wondering what he should do about him… Austin moved closer to Kirai, and took a bit of the blood that was abundant on the platform to draw a circle around the three of them. Austin pulled Kirai and Ginseku close to himself, and began to focus what little energy he had remaining. A small burst of wind encircled them, and quickly became a cyclone. The three of them burst into smoke and became leaves. The cyclone disappeared, becoming a strong breeze which blew them through the air vent and through the school’s air conditioning system until they came upon the school hospital.
