DavarGrey: But isn't communion wine like.. a tablespoon at most? I think Wiccans drink a bit more than just a tablespoon.
Not even, given it's watered down as part of the ceremony, and the sips are tiny so a large congregation can share the cup. Speaking strictly in the all or nothing world of legalities though, it would be a hard case to prosecute the no alcohol under 21 law vs. religious expression when the most prevalent religions do serve a small amount... that is unless the minor was given enough to actually become intoxicated and cause harm to themselves or others, if a minor is put in demonstrable harms way no amount of recognition as a church will have meaning in court.
Correction from Kitten(my wife): From her experiences growing up in the Catholic church there was an effort made for there not to be any actual alcohol given to minors, which differs from my experience growing up in an Episcopal church.
