This is going to be a science fiction/fantasy novel. I'm going to try to hit somewhere inbetween 50k and 100k words before the end of August because school starts Sept. 1st. At the moment I have a fairly good idea about where this story is going. We'll see how it all turns out.
Plot: Abby Braden is living in the Small town of Port Owenside, Maine, when she meets these strange new students at the school. These new students are actually from the planet Strattol and have came to earth to escape their home planet which is being slow destroyed by the evil Zaden who is now calling himself "the king" of Strattol. King Zaden wants to enslave the humble people of the planet while eliminating those that he feels aren't fit to live there.
Abby eventually befriends these 4 new students, especially Elijah Patton, and finds out that they are brothers and sisters escaped from the planet Strattol before they were killed or enslaved. Each of them have abilities but Eli is different. He eventually falls in love with Abby, or what feels like love to him having earth being so new to him, but discovers that Abby is the girl that is destined to save their planet.
They travel back to Strattol now with Abby and they visit a fortune teller that says Abby must gain wisdom from three seperate and very important people. Abby and the Booth siblings visit these people and they learn the language and secrets of the people from the planet. They also give her abilities that she needs to defeat Zaden. In the end she will kill the king.
-I'll put in the cast of characters and prologue later. I'm on my way to marching band practice now...haha yes i am in the marching band.
Constructive critisim and comments are welcome wink

Cast of characters Sorry, I know it's confusing. But if you read the story I guarentee it will make sense. Abby Braden-The main character who is destined to save the planet Strattol Elery Cahir/Taylor Patton-Once on earth he picks the name Taylor for himself. Has the ability to transmit all his knowledge such as what a certain word means to any person he desires and can take anyone's power (when he meets a mind reader he can read minds from now on. When he meets a shape shifter...well you get the idea). He is Abby's love interest and discovers that she is destined to save his home planet. His sister is Cadence. Arem Berach/Bailey Patton- Pretends to be a Patton child on earth but is related to Aia who is his sister and is Elery's and Cadence's cousin. He has the ability to read and manipulate minds as well as predicting the future. Cadence Cahir/Madison Patton- She is Elery's biological sister. She has the ability to assemble anything with her mind and she is a shape shifter. Aia Berach/Emma Patton- Arem's sister who has he ability to move objects with her mind and teleport to a destination of her choosing. As long as a person is touching her, if she chooses to teleport they will go with her. Nelt Berach/Thomas Patton- Father to Arem and Aia and uncle to Elery and Cadence. He is extremely smart and has the ablilty to become invisible. Nelt is very fair and is the authority figure of the house. He is also in charge of teaching the children magic.

Prologue In the woods It was nearing two a.m. in the small coastal town of Port Owenside. There wasn’t a human who was out of their home and all the animals had taken shelter for the night. The town was utterly at peace with the world.
Port Owenside, Maine, was known for it’s fishing. The main inhabitants of the town were fisherman and their families. The teenagers of the town talked mainly about how they were going to leave the small town and never come back. But they were never able to leave. It was, and would always be, their home.
With the population being close to 700, it was one of those small towns where everyone knew everyone else and even their cousins who lived in Toronto. The citizens thought they knew ever insignificant detail about every person who lived in Port Owenside, but each family had their own secrets.
Despite the fact that that the town seemed quiet, there was a disturbance in the woods about five miles from the main road. The animals who were roused awake were running from a craft that was decending into a clearing. The vehicle seemed to be moving slowly and silently towards the earth. The faint light of fire was seen at the bottom and it faintly illuminated the craft, showing that it was a grayish color and was no taller than a two story house.
It landed gently in the clearing and the door slowly opened to reveal six creatures that appeared to be human walking out. They were all muscular, except for the two females, and all had peircing green eyes. The leader seemed to be the largest male. The others would not do anything until he spoke. He had a strange shade of blond hair, a kind, clean shaven face, and seemed to be in his mid thirties. To an outsider he seemed to be the father of this family.
When he spoke, his voice rang with kindness and perfect articullation. “Elery make sure we were not seen by anyone,” he said. “Explore our surroundings and report back to me in an hour with what you find.”
“Yes Nelt,” a boy in the back answered. Elery seemed to be aroung sixteen, the youngest of the men. He had dark long brown hair which fell into his eyes. Elery looked to be in his late teens, with a skinny yet tall physique. He was wearing a gray t-shirt desipite the late summer chill, with jeans and navy converse.
“Be careful,” Nelt pleaded. “If we have been seen I don’t know how these humans will react. Maybe Cadence should go with you.”
“Cadence will only slow me down,” Elery answered with a sly smile to one of the girls. “I’m the only one with the ability to have you all learn the customs and language of this planet. Besides you need Cadence to assemble the shelter”
“Your right. Cadence he’s quite right we do need your abilty.”Nelt answered glancing at the small female. Elery gave a quick nod to the other male and took off at a slow walk into the woods as Nelt began to speak again.
“Arem, keep a watch on the future and the minds of those around us,” he said again. “If there is anything that is suspicious I want you to go and find them and manipulate their mind to forget about what they saw.”
“Yes Nelt,” the second largest male answered. Arem was muscular and tall. He had curly blond hair and was wearing a striped button down shirt with a forrest green jacket and khaki pants with designer sneakers. “Besides the frightened animals the human minds seem to be unconsious, probably sleeping. Wow they are having some weird dreams. A young male is dreaming of racing a penguin down a moun…”
“Enough Arem,” Nelt said, cutting Arem off and abandoning his kind tone. His voice was now filled with authority. “Do as I said.”
“Sorry,” Arem said looking down. He also started walking into the woods the same way that Elery went.
“Now as for you Aia, use you ability to gather supplies we need,” Nelt said regaining the kind tone in his voice.
“Yes sir,” Aia said in a beautiful sing-song voice. She was a pretty girl with blonde hair that reached her shoulders. She was wearing a simple blue shirt with a black coat and jeans with designer sneakers like Arem. She raised her hands and closed her eyes. Almost at once a load of suppies gathered in a neat pile near the craft. There was wood, glass windows, metal screws, and many other materials needed to build a home.
“Good,” Nelt said in approval. “We will also need food and furniture.” Once again Aia raised her hands and closed her eyes and once again the supplies arranged themselves in neat piles.
“Now Cadence if you don’t mind,” Nelt said to only other person. Cadence was a short girl with the same shade of brown hair as Elery which she wore pulled back into a hair tie. The clothes she was wearing also resembled Elery’s attire. She closed her eyes like Aia and muttered silently to herself. The supplies assembled themselves and all while all the furniture and food put themselves into the newly built home.
A handsome two-story home was now standing before them. It was an off white shade with a stone porch that wrapped around half the house. Smoke was pouring from the chimney as if a fire had been burning for hours.
“Perfect,” Nelt said happily. “It will be perfect for us. Now two last things Cadece. First I need you to desguise the ship and when your done with that I need you to shape into some of the local wildlife so we can better understand our surroundings before Elery gets back. And Aia we will also need a transportation device for earth. I believe they are called cars. Three will probably do.”
“Yes,” they both answered. As they set to work the two other boys returned. Each looked happy with what they had discovered. Elery was the first to speak.
“I have learned a great deal,” he started. “I know I have already gave you all the knowledge of the language here but if you will please line up I can give you what else I’ve discovered.” At his request they lined up and like the others he closed his eyes and spread his hands over the others.
“Thank you Elery,” Nelt said after a few seconds. “That will make our first day here that much easier. Now Arem. What good news do you have for us?”
“The best,” he answered happily. “I have manipulated the minds and we now have identities and papers for here.We can enroll in that school thing in tomorrow so we will appear to be normal. Zaden will never think of looking here anyway.” A trickle of fear washed through the five of them at the mention of the name Zaden. Only Arem was able to forget about it. “Come on guys! We are billions of miles away from him. He won’t come looking here for us.”
“Even so,” Nelt answered. “We will still have to be careful. Especiall you Elery. All of you should get into the house and get some rest. It looks like you guys will have a big day tomorrow if you are going to start school. I suppose I should start looking for a job to support all of us.” Everyone started into the house with cautious looks on their faces. The last was Elery who gave a frightened glance into the night sky.

Overall, it seemed a decent start, despite a handful of spelling mistakes (and as far as I saw, one grammar error). One issue I have is with the choppiness of the writing. I feel as if you aren't quite able to get it to flow the way you desire (if you notice at all sweatdrop ). My best guess to this issue is that the way you structure your sentences seems to be rather repetitive. Also, on a side note, the fear of Zaden's name... kind of like Voldemort--though I suppose that is to be expected if he is the antagonist, but people are likely to draw comparisons. I am looking forward to reading your next excerpt and seeing where this plot goes.
