During a football game once i had an epic brain fart... i screwed up like 5 sets sweatdrop

an epic fail several people have had this year, has been during this copany front that like half the band has to backwards jazz run to... 3 people have already did a backwards somersault.

and freshman year, my friend had lost a lot of weight through the season, and decided to wear a pair of pants that were too big without a belt, and during a practice his fell down.... i cant tell you how many belts hes going to get during the senior roast next year. lol

i havent had an epic fail (i have had a minor one cause i forgot where i was supposed to be in a set) yet but this year 2 people have fallen during band camp but last year i was in 8th grade so i wasnt there when this happened but i have heard tons of stories where a flute player wasnt paying attention and practically ran into a flag that color gaurd was swinging around and then after he freaked out and she was like hey you were the one walking forwards i was walking backwards doing this really hard move and you didnt even get to your right spot it was funny cause i knew the colorgaurd that hit the flute player

edit: im not sure if this counts but yesterday this kid wasnt moving and i needed to move halfway across the field he ended up making me hit a quad

When we reviewed the drill parts on Thursday, I kept forgetting the spots I was in at some point xp FML!

I wasn't the only one, but still.

Thankfully, the people who are by me in the show most of the time helped me out. One of the seniors ended up pushing my shoulder so that I would move since we literally marched in a half-circle to switch spots and I forgot how many counts we had to hold before moving.

We were practicing our 6-5 backwards marching las tyear(freshman), and we were in 3 yardline rows: Woodwinds, brass, and colorguard + drumline. Well, us, the woodwinds, were behind the brass, who were behind d+c. Of course, this was at bandcamp and we were almost done. I was so tired. My legs stopped working and so my 6-5s were more of 20-5. Needless to say, one of the ssousas tripped over me and we both fell.

We were marching 8-5's and I miss counted and went two 8-5's, and the the rest of the band was like " what is she doing...?" I blamed it on the heat. XD

Have you ever screwed up so badly when marching?
for me it was at the post band camp picnic my freshmen year and i somehow ended up at least 4 steps from my spot....

Something similar happened to me at a really huge contest.
One of the trumpet players messed up and she somehow ended up in the spot I was supposed to be in, and I didn't know if I was wrong or if she was wrong, so I just stood there a few feet from where I was supposed to be, and at that point we had to stay there for like 36 counts. And it was in the very front too. >_<

I also fell while jazz running at practice. Sprained my ankle really bad.

>.> My most epic fail, is when I made my section leader trip, I was rather embarrassed, But i would say the most epic fail in our band(Only counting how long I been in the band) Is when my friends brother tripped and the flutes fell down like dominoes :3

LOL. my friend in the clarinet section mis-stepped so caused the whole mellophones to trip and fall + 1 sousa xD my mello friend actually got her arm cut open...but it was funny after that lol

my brother (clarient) marched in the wrong direction during a performance when he was a freshman rofl

xD well this guy in our band, had another epic fail, he fell down and broke his arm, he preferred saving his instrument(who wouldn't)

Oh my goodness I had a super epic fail like two practices ago!

During part of our show we are supposed to do this one thing following each other in diags and then moving back and i COMPLETELY forgot to follow the diag and I just went backwards, then I was like crap and tried to find myself and I ended up going two yard lines too far. So I was basically running around like an idiot while the rest of the band was holding for 8.

And after band practice our BD was like so I totally saw that epic fail of yours this morning and I was all I KNOW! gonk But he was nice saying that was basically the first time I super screwed up ever (ima junior so ive been around haha) and he let me off the hook sweatdrop

ok 4 stories so be prepared hehe. ok first one...
It was my first show as a freshman (i'm a junior now) and I'm one of the shortest people in band (yes and i'm a guy go ahead and laugh). So, anywho, i had to jazz run between 2 really tall people who were also freshman and a lot of the time, they kept closing my spot by accident and i couldn't get thru. Well, i was nicknamed the baby of the band that year cuz of how short i am and when i did this, everyone cracked up laughing. I played flute too which made it worse. so at our first football game of the year, I did that set but didn't end up in front of them like i'm supposed to. oh and after that set, it's a hold. so while everyone else was holding, i put down my flute and squeezed in between them and fixed my shako before putting my flute back up to playing position. No one, not even the tall kids who wouldn't let me thru, noticed until our bd played it back so we could see what we did wrong.

2.) A french horn player during concert band was running to get a stand (he's our sucky drum major this year who doesn't know what the ******** he's doing) and there's a little garage door looking thing and it was half down. He ran straight into it and busted his head open. broke his skull and everything.

3.) My brother justin. When he was in band (i was in 6th grade) he was a sophomore i think. haha he fell and did a couple summersaults and then got up as fast as he feel and jazz ran to his next dot and played like nothing ever happened. OMG it was hilarious! oh and he ended up getting drum major the next year.

4.) ok this happened the year before me. There was a set where it was tubas and basses in a line doing a backwards right slide. the tuba on the left end fell and made a domino effect. justin didn't see it so he didn't cut off but all the tubas and bass drums were laying on the ground it was hilarious

It was my Junior year of high school. I had played cymbals since eighth grade. I'm not gonna lie, I was the best cymbal player in our district. And probably region, lol.
During the drum feature, it got to the part where I did my visuals with the cymbals. I'd done that routine countless times, flawlessly. And everytime I did it, the crowd went nuts. But this time... I don't know what happened. But I was in mid-spin of my right cymbal, when the strap slipped off my hand. Suddenly, the crowd stopped in mid cheer, and all you heard was a resounding "Awwww...."

I picked up my cymbal, finished the show, sat in the stands, and cried for the rest of the game. Not even lying. I was so upset.
