~Aerido~

Aerido raised a lone finger to rub the area on his cheek, just under his right eye. He ended up settling into a lean, with the same hand as a support. Golden hair fell down and framed the creamy white hand.

With a quiet sigh, the elf began. "Feore was... isolated," Aerido explained. "She ran in a different social circle from what the rest of her family did. Once, she invited me and, to my surprise, went to a nightclub. It was unpleasant."

Aerido reorganized his thoughts. "The point, is that I don't think I know as much as had first supposed. My sister, she was prone to attracting violence--from strangers, from- from love interests. She was very beautiful, but still so young."

The elf passed forward the picture, along with the copy of the forensic analysis report. Much of what it said, Aerido had memorized.

'A young elf... strewn across the ground.... ripping in several places... across the torso, by an upward slash... most likely claws. ... But she herself has been completely drained of blood.'

The report went on to describe the body, in what position it had been found--listed all wounds, the condition of both body and clothing. There were detailed descriptions--as well as a few photographs--of the blood spatter, on the walls, on the ground, and on the victim.

In her grip, were found a few strands of silvery hair. Further testing regarding such as under her fingernails, or any material that have possibly been left behind by the killer have yet to be tested and sufficiently determined.

"That particular night," Aerido went on to say, "Feore had been returning home from... I suppose, a party. Her parents were lenient with her. I found a brochure for a place called... 'Evil.' It is a club, with a large party dated for the night of her death...."

((Because I'm hungry at the moment, I was wondering when Aerido's food was going to arrive. xd On that note, I'm going to grab some food.))

Tala Mingan

There are only two things that matter in this world...

Tala scooped up the file and rifled through it, scanning over the small type of the densely written reports. She also studied the pictures, looking for any clue that might have been overlooked, anything that looked familiar. If she was lucky, she might spot something that she'd worked with before, a sign or trademark. Unfortunately she was having no such luck.

As she scoured the pages, Oberon walked up with Aerido's order. Placing it in front of the blonde elf, he smiled kindly and warned "Careful now, it's quite hot," before walking to tend to the rest of his customers.

"Well," Tala finally spoke after several long moments of silence, "it looks to me like the police have been very thorough with documentation. I'd like to get my hands on some of that evidence but that'll take pulling a few strings and may be a few days." Tala continued to scan as she spoke, going over every detail, committing as much to memory as she could. "Our best bet for getting a lead would be to go to this club and talk to the barkeep. They tend to be the most reliable sources at those types of places since they're not allowed to drink. A sober mind makes for a good source." She paused for a moment more before looking up at Aerido again. "It would also help if you could show me where she lived. We might be able to find contact information for any friends who might have been with her that night." She straightened up and closed the file.

... The most important is coffee.

((sorry. I haven't slept in two nearly two days, so my brain is on the fritz right now. If I said something that didn't make sense, please let me know.))

Aerido raised a bit of the food to his mouth, blew on it, and took a gentle bite. After he had swallowed, he replied, "She lives in her own home, as do I--but our parents own the land. You'll be allowed in, I'm sure... I just won't be with you. The club, though, I have no knowledge of the location of. I'm sorry if I am not much help."

((Mm. I had some sandwiches (boring) with horseradish and jalepenos! (not boring)

Are you all right? Maybe you should... sleep.))

Aminta Kennocha

Living life…

User Image Aminta stared at the account books for several seconds in silence. Then she pressed two fingers to her eyes. Whoo boy. Maybe she was getting too old to try and do a full day's work on four hours of sleep. The numbers were practically dancing in front of her eyes, and more than once she had had to add up an account three or four times to get a number that was even remotely like what it should have been. Tea, she thought. She should make something with caffeine.

She looked across the room to the little kitchenette that she'd added to the office. It wasn't much - a cupboard, a mini-fridge, a single counter and a sink. But on the counter was a kettle and teapot, and she knew that she had restocked on tea just recently. The antidote to her current overexhaustion was only steps away, but she couldn't actually convince her body to get up, walk those steps, and get it. Quite a conundrum.

She was still sitting there, staring longingly at the teapot as though she thought it would rise and float to her through the power of her eyes, when her youngest sister walked in with another sheaf of papers. "New orders," sixteen-year-old Felisia began, before noticing what Aminta's gaze was currently locked onto. With a sigh, she dropped the stack on the desk and went to the kitchenette. Starting the kettle boiling, she shook her head and muttered about irresponsible artistic types.

Placing the mug within reach of Aminta's hand, Felisia continued, "Three new orders - a set of curtains, and two people want dresses tailored to fit. All the information's in there," she nodded at the papers, "and Mom wants you to have estimates for them by tonight." At Aminta's groan, Felisia chuckled and left the room, presumably to tend to whoever she was doing a fitting for at the moment.

Alone, Aminta sighed and pressed her cheek against the palm of her hand. Well, it was time to get back to work, if she was expected to have three new estimates on top of last night's work and today's additions. She would survive this day, and she would never, ever work until three in the morning again. After a second, she snorted. Sure. Maybe she'd even remember that vow for all of a day.

Feeling a bit better, she turned back to the accounts. Have tea, will travel.

Tala's curiosity perked up at Aerido's statement. That his sister lived alone she could have guessed, that he would not accompany her to the house was an interesting condition. "Why won't you go with me to your sister's house?" Not wanting to sound too suspicious she followed with, "I may need you there to answer any questions I have."

Tala took another swig of her coffee. It was regrettably cooling down and would soon be past drinking temperature. She was glad she'd at least managed to made a dent in it and her food while she'd been talking to Aerido. To not do so would have greatly offended Oberon and there was no way that Tala felt up to taking his little green haired wrath.

((Lol, talk about feast and famine. I finally fell asleep, only to sleep for over 12 hours. That can't be normal.))

With a slightly confused, yet hushed tone, Aerido replied to Tala's curiosity in full: "It is simply that I do not wish to be connected with you or any authority type, which is how my parents would view you--and, how their servants, being their only eyes and ears in the matter, would tell you."

Once again, it seemed that Aerido simply did not want his parents to know that he was actively attempting to go about the work of the curious--by hiring a private detective. "I'm sorry if that puts any particular strain on you. Such are my circumstances, though."

While talking, Aerido had eaten some of his breakfast as well. Particularly, the serving of glazed fruit, he had enjoyed immensely. At this time, Aerido chose to raise a napkin to his mouth, in order to banish any possible migrants of food that might have erred onto his lips.

Aminta Kennocha

Living life…

User Image Aminta sat back, flexing her fingers to try and get the cramps out. The worst was done, she reassured herself. She'd done those estimates and sent them back to her mother through Felisia, and she'd made a sizable dent in the accounts and various other bits of business she'd had to take care of. Also, her teapot had gone dry three times - a sure sign that she'd gotten somewhere. Decided, she got to her feet and stretched a bit. She needed a few minutes to rest her eyes and her mind.

She wandered back upstairs, trying to remember why. That new sculpture she was working on, though it would be fabulous, still needed time to cool and rest before she could continue. She had no other bright ideas currently on the go, although she did have two or three sculptures that she had shown to prospective buyers - she kept a miniature showroom next door to the actual workroom. None of them had gotten back to her yet. She was fairly sure that that red-haired elf would choose to buy the piece she'd called Fury, although she was a little uncertain about the other two and the ones they had looked at.

Sure enough, when she got up to the showroom there was a message blinking on her machine. It was from the woman in question, asking about a time to take another look at that piece. She'd left her number. Pleased, Aminta wrote it down quickly. She would get back to the woman later tonight, and hopefully by the time the meeting was over, she'd have made the sale. Walking over to the piece, she examined it critically. Personally, she didn't feel it was among her best works, but it depended on what people liked. It just didn't have the feeling in it that some of them did, she thought as she ran her fingertips over a smooth scroll of bronze. She wouldn't have any trouble parting with this one.

She looked back at the closed door that connected to the workroom, and smiled a little as she thought of the piece inside. When it came time to let go of that one, she might feel a bit of a pang. But first, she had to create it. Finish it. And when it was finished, who knew what she might feel towards it?

Giving Fury a last, light pat, she walked out of the little showroom and locked the door behind her. Although she glanced longingly at her workroom door, she shook her head firmly once and went back downstairs. There was still work to do, and when it was done, she would have to go home and tend to the chores she hadn't done last night. Somewhere in there, she would have to find time to go eat.

Tomorrow, she thought. Tomorrow was soon enough to restart on the project.

"Ah," Tala nodded and straightened back up, "I understand. In that case I'll likely call you if I have any pressing questions. Please try to have your phone on you as much as you can." Of course there would be servants and spies for Aerido's parents, she should have seen that coming.

"If anyone asks me, I'm working for the police investigators. I'll keep your name out of it." Her coffee was officially past drinking temperature, but it was largely drained now. She grimaced as she swallowed the first part of the bitter dregs left in the cup.

~Evelyn Marie Exudes~

"To teach is to learn twice."
-Joseph Joubert

After Evelyn had been asured that her book order was placed for next week and she was given the book she had ordered the week before the scholar was quickly on her way again. The book in question rested on the crook of her arm, making the strap of her purse, which hung over her shoulder, bite into the skin. The Elf was quick to remain in an up-beat mood, though she had yet to eat something or drink her daily cup of orange juice. She still, unfortunatly, had to pick up her jacket from the shop before setting out to find breakfast.

The reason for her worry over the jacket was that her current students household, though very beautiful as most rich persons homes were, was very cold. The room in which she taught was doubly so, as there were numerous drafts and a window that was never closed entirely the right way. The jacket in question was also mportant because it was the only one she owned that would remotely come together with the articles of clothing she wore, including the dark blue trousers and creme` colored blouse, and few accesories. The blouse was short sleeved, and Evelyn would keel over if she was forced to work in that drafty household without the semblance of warmth.

Kenby Sulu…

User Image Kenby flowed into the final pirouette of the new routine for the third time. Stopping right on the mark he'd taped to the floor - he assumed that that would be the spot for him and his partner, as it usually was - he executed the snappy finale bow that the director expected of them. As he straightened, several of the other dancers came in, some yawning, all looking far less awake than he felt.

Maybe it really was a morning-person thing, Kenby thought briefly. Then he rolled his eyes at the idea. That was just ridiculous. He could stay up studying routines late into the night and yet be awake and lively this early because he had trained his body to do just that. It was an instrument, no more, as his mother had taught him from day one of the training she'd put him through. Because he kept it trained and toned and didn't bother with caffeine or alcohol, it would serve him well. It was a simple equation - the body's preferences towards morning or night had nothing to do with it.

He looked around for his partner, but didn't see her. That was so unlike her that he found himself worried. There wasn't much that Lisa took seriously, but the one thing she did take seriously was practice. So where was she? Searching out her roommate, he was answered with a slow shrug. After a few minutes of gentle inquiry, he managed to get her to tell him that she was in bed with - and he quoted - 'girl problems'. Girl problems. Irritated with her and with himself for being irritated, he went back to his place. They had four days. Lisa couldn't just ignore practice because of girl problems.

Was he the only one who took this performance seriously?

…artiste extraordinaire!

In training, that is.

Aerido nodded and stood, leaving a copy of his telephone number. "Please... anything you can tell me, or that I can help with... anything. Justice for my sister would mean the world to me."

Once again, the situation left him unsure of what to do. Aerido finally decided that it was time to walk away--but he left an amount of money on the table, for the food he'd received. Then, Aerido left.

"Thank you again, you've done a lovely job with it, I wouldn't have expected anything else though." Evelyn pushed the shops door open again, pulling on the jacket she had come in to recieve, and came out onto the sidewalk backwards because she was still talking to the woman behind the counter. A bit of a chill had come over her, as normaly happened when she was anywhere near something colder than the air around her, and she felt the need to wear the deep royal blue article of clothing.

As soon as it was on the warmth it brought finaly gave her the ability to concentrate, and she smiled. Now for breakfast. The thought was cheerful, rightfully so, and she opened the book she had recently aquired as she walked, skimming through. It would be nice to read a chapter or two over orangejuice this morning, or something of the sort, she wasn't that picky on morning sustanance.
