I am just wondering, since this is something I often hear about in the news, and just word of mouth. Is it possible to be gay, bi or lesbian and still be a religious or christian driven individual? I mean in a world such as ours where contradictions and labels are everywhere would a person who loves the same sex be allowed in an institution such as the church?

Of course you can. There are churchs out there that openly accept GLBT people. But just because a certain church(s) or religion(s) wont accept/allow a GLBT person to be an active member does not mean they can prevent someone from their beliefs.
Either way you look at it, all religion is based around the personal releationship that a person has with their higher being. A group cannot stop an inidividual from having a connection within themselves.
I had a friend a few years ago who decided though that her religion (Mormen) was more important than what she was, and changed in order to fit in life's teaching. I couldn't stop her from doing it, but I was sadden that she decided her religon was more important than being true to herself.
So, yes one can/could be a religious driven individual despite their sexual preference. Religion is a personal thing despite it being such a public ideal.

Thanks for that comment. I am still trying to figure out all of this madness of religion and sexuality.
