I used to have a lot of these little guys when I was younger. They look similar to the Russian Dwarf Hamsters, but they are slightly bigger and much more friendly/less likely to bite you.

I don't see them in pet stores any more. I can find The Russians, but they are too nasty for me. Has anyone see the Chinese Dwarfs in their local pet store?

Those Chinese hamsters are very cute, I havent seen them in my local pet store, but I will keep watch for them smile

It's weird. You really don't see them in stores anymore. When I was a young girl, pet stores always had gerbils, Syrian Hamsters, Russian Dwarf hamsters and Chinese Dwarf Hamsters...
Pet stores now seem to still have the gerbils and the Russians, more Syrians selection and NO Chinese Dwarf...
So strange. I wonder if they are endangered or something like that??
I've tried looking into it, but I've gotten very little 'real info' back... crying

I've seem to noticed that Chinese dwarfs are hard to come by too and I've always wanted them ever since I've seen them around Christmas time. Though the robo dwarfs look cute too.

I know someone that breeds hampsters, I'll talk to them sometime soon and get back to you.

I'm more of a rat fan, I used to have a rat and he was incredibly sweet...hampsters are the one rodent I've never owned, they always seemed more skittish so I never researched them.
