For A'ras, today was turning out to be a really busy one. Why? Well, he had finally driven himself from mindless procrastination and got a handle on his weyr. Things had gotten a little out of hand after he was assigned to this new wing. It made him grumpy and unable to focus...but enough was enough when he found a spilled spot of Klah on his Klah table. So like a driven fiend he started to clean and and scrub bringing his weyr up to the standards which he preferred - No woman could complain about this Man's home. By the time he had washed all his sheets, clothes, and oiled his leathers then dusted and polished every ornament he owned, a deep sense of personal satisfaction swept over him.
It was on days like these that Cavaruth could only sit on his haunches and watch with amused interest. He had gotten used to his rider's patterns of Procrastination to down right Obsessive/Compulsive and knew that he'd benefit when the attention was focused in his direction. That was why when the man decided that Cav also needed his bath, scrub and oil not long after, Cav just smiled with a dragonish grin; knowing that it would be a thorough job.
By the time the two made it back to the weyr, Cavaruth gleamed with a well-oiled sheen to match the ultra tidy weyr. Cav had to admit that A'ras sure had done well at obtaining their large living space turns ago. It was very comfortable to the big blue as he landed on the ledge allowing A'ras to take off the straps before stretching out his wings and lying down. His dragon toes curling contently against the stone.
A'ras laughed as Cav sprawled out, "You look like a dead herdbeast!"
Cav snorted back, "A very clean dead herdbeast to you! You're moodiness almost left me dull!" His tail swished out slapping his rider in the a** has A'ras walked in deeper and down rough hewed stairs into the living area.
"Oh Cavaruth, I'd never let you get dull." A'ras said with a chuckle knowing that of all things, Cav never missed baths or oilings. He'd never let A'ras...procrastinate on that.
By now A'ras was ready for relaxation...Stripping out of his dirty clothes, he sank into the large pool in his bathroom and settled in; letting the warm water ease away the aches of the long productive morning. His head leaned back against the cool tile as he let his mind wander...."It's going to be a great day..."

A shame that A'ras' great day was going to come to an abrupt end. . .or at the very least, temporary setback and possible intrusion. For while the blue rider had been busy cleaning his weyr and dragon spotless, another dragon rider had been just as diligently packing.
Yes, T'loa had finally received word that he'd been allowed to move! With all the over crowding happening, the weyr he'd been assigned as a weyrling had become far too cramped. Niyath was sharing the rather small space with a large green, and while the bronze dragon didn't mind the company, it was rather cramped. Space was difficult to come by and the dragon rider had little interest in setting up a place on the outside of Ista Weyr itself. He was a bit more traditional and preferred the cooler cave weyrs, even if it meant cramped space with unkempt roomies.
But his luck (and Niyath's size) finally paid off! There was a larger weyr assigned to him, one that would better fit Niyath and allow a smaller dragon and rider their current space. So it was with hasty work (as hasty as T'loa had been in awhile) that he threw his clothes in a sack, donned his wherhide jacket, and packed up the few belongings he did own. Thankfully the bronze rider was incredibly practical; outside of some clothes and his riding gear, there was very little within his possession.
"Xiazu~!" He summoned, giving a whistle between his teeth. Strange how he'd recently inherited a fire-lizard egg and from such a thing Impressed a baby green. The dainty creature had unusual markings, but she was (he was fast learning) not at all the brightest creature.
Thankfully Niyath had been rather ecstatic by such company, and the little green seemed to adore her 'very big bronze brother'. If the little green fire-lizard wasn't with him, she was frequently curled up with Niyath. She understood her name, and his whistles but was still quite clingy. She had a demand for food seemingly constantly but had already found a place in T'loa's heart.
He'd never thought of owning a fire-lizard, especially after Niyath entered his life, but she was still amusing in her own charming way.
Sure enough, the little green appeared out of *between* with a happy chirrup, and swiftly settled upon his shoulder. Creeling softly, she nestled against his neck and sent a few pictures of her adventures . . they were a bit of a blur and contained mostly other fire-lizards, Niyath sleeping, and the eggs in the hatching grounds . . but it proved she also knew how to keep herself preoccupied.
"Busy day, eh little lady?" He chuckled. "Not sure you'll understand but we're getting a new place. . . with a preferably cleaner weyr mate." He gave a final look around his weyr-sweet-weyr and knew without a doubt he would NOT miss it. Though it harbored many a memory, he could only hope the next rider to take over his weyr could better handle the sloppiness.
Niyath rumbled appreciatively from where he stood upon his ledge, various packs strapped to his side. His tail swished happily behind him and his eyes whirled a bright green-blue. Though he said nothing, T'loa understood he was just as anxious to leave as he. . .
"C'mon you oaf. . ." Displacing the little green fire-lizard, who gave a protesting cheep as she had to readjust as he mounted Niyath, it didn't take long for the pair to be off. Out with the old, in with the new or so the saying went.
As they approached their newly assigned weyr, Niyath bugled a greeting to the resident blue currently present. T'loa had heard the name of his newest weyr mate, but hadn't put a connection together, even with Cavaruth present. He was still getting to know all those in his wing, and A'ras and Cavaruth, though noted during drills and assignments, weren't reemembered much outside of duty.
Greetings, Cavaruth. . . It seems my rider is to be moved in with yours. Niyath spoke amicably, waiting just a moment for the blue to acknowledge the pair before settling happily upon the ledge. The ledge was much greater than his previous home, and the bronze could happily stretch out his wings even with another dragon nearby! How wonderful!
Dropping down from Niyath's shoulder, he gave a lazy dip to Cavaruth, small lop-sided smile on his features. "Cavaruth," he greeted cordially, a part of him wondering exactly why the name seemed so familiar. He thought little of it, nonetheless, knowing full well there were many a dragons' name that he'd heard in his life time. "Any one home. . .? I'd hate to barge in so unexpectedly." He spoke to both the blue and his bronze, lingering a moment outside while he began to unpack Niyath.
Xiazu, on the other hand, had taken perch upon Niyath's neck and was staring curiously at the blue dragon. She chirruped a happy greeting as she watched the going-ons, still unsure exactly what all this hustle and bustle was about!

Cavaruth yawned from his snoozing and comfortable stretches on ledge. Things at the moment were rather blissful because who wouldn't feel lazy after a long well-deserved bath and oiling. His toes curled and straightened as he lay his head fully on the stone and gurgled contently with the gentle warmth of the sun. Wing-tips joint crackling just a bit as the blue turned every so slightly to reach the most comfortable position. However, soon...he heard noise in his head.. "Who? What?" It took the blue a few moments to open his eyes in surprised at the unexpected company as his large head swung around to survey the newcomers. Pulling his wings in against his sides, he pulled himself up from the "dead herdbeast" pose; eyes swirling with mixed curiosity and a bit of wonder.
"Greeting Niyath. We have roommates? My rider didn't say anything about roommates? Are you sure? What happened to your weyr? I'm sure that my rider did not mention new roommates. Are you sure you have the right weyr?" returned the questioning blue as his face peered over closely at the rider unloading his baggage to see if they were really serious about moving in and also trying to place the man and beast because both seemed very familiar beyond knowing Niyath's name.
"I know you from...mmm...Wing? Right? You're in our Wing." Cav wasn't sure how A'ras would take to new roommates especially from the...Wing. He knew he and his rider still were quite annoyed with the new green Wingleader and Green running the show. In Cav's mind, it wasn't right. Not at all. He couldn't even fathom being lead by a Green in any way shape or form. They shouldn't be in charge of anything if they couldn't keep up with him.
But...well, these new roommates of the Wing were a Man and Male Dragon even though they were...in the Wing. That didn't bode as badly in Cav's mind although Niyath wasn't a small dragon; he was a big bronze, however, this wasn't a small weyr either. Cavaruth pondered the notion of having a roommate dragon because he never had quite thought about it in a very long time because when he got too big for the weyrling barrack, A'ras had finagled this space.
"A'ras has just cleaned the weyr from bottom to ledge and then scrubbed and oiled me. So he is soaking in the bath as it is his turn to become clean now. Although...I think he has fallen asleep." he thought over to T'loa as he considered the ledge sharing just a little more; his tail lashing around his legs as he quirked an upper eye ridge. As the dragon he was, his chivalrous self wouldn't let a bronze be homeless but still, A'ras had said in the past if they started moving anyone up here they might consider moving them to a smaller Weyr.
That part didn't sit well with the blue. While not a bronze or brown, he wasn't exactly...small. Lucky for him he was on the larger side of blues and that was a good thing indeed because how would he rescue females if he were any smaller??? Actually he aspired to be larger but A'ras said that probably wouldn't happen so he had tried to learn to be content with his....size and gave himself to the idea that speed also would be an asset in saving females plus getting A'ras out of tight places when he got caught by some woman's husband.
"Was your ledge small? Is that why you got moved?" His eyes ridges squinted some as he looked at the bronze and rider and mentally spoke to them both, "Roommates means...sharing the space right? You do not plan to make us leave our weyr...right? " If the bronze tried to push them out of their home, Cav would be frustrated and maybe he'd have to argue with the bronze. He might respect the reasoning...Maybe....but then again...maybe not. Either way, it would make A'ras agitated and that was one thing that the dragon could not abide.
"I suppose I could share the ledge. I am not nearly as large as you, Niyath and my ledge is large enough for two. It might be good for A'ras not to live alone. But wait..." Cavaruth stretched his neck out and cocked his big head starting to notice the little green at the man's neck. "What is this?! A tiny female?? Oh and is your rider....tidy?"
A'ras had dozed off just as much as his dragon had but more so because the the nice warm water had relaxed every worked muscle. He didn't catch anything his blue had being talking about mostly because he was just too lost in his own bliss to care. Cav could take care of himself for a few hours...

((Omfg - Cav is adorable. xD ))
Niyath listened to the blue dragon calmly, his pale tipped tail swishing lazily behind him and over the edge of the ledge. He hadn't meant to wake the blue, but he also hadn't wanted to approach unannounced either. But they had been given orders to move up to this very ledge, though Niyath didn't know by who. . . Still, he offered an amicable rumble to the blue, his eyes whirling a lazy green-blue.
We were told to move here because this ledge is larger than my previous one. My old ledge was very small and I shared it with a big green; but she is to get a new green weyrmate and T'loa and I were told to share yours. He bobbed his great head lightly in affirmation, not wanting to offend or insult the blue. I hope you do not mind. . . It was rather unexpected.
T'loa, on the other hand, was slightly surprised that no one had informed A'ras of such orders. He himself knew that he might not enjoy knowing he was forced to share quarters, especially if he'd been living alone for some time. From what little he'd heard, the blue rider had managed to live without company for quite awhile... Sadly though, his luck had run out.
Moving his few packs in front of Niyath (so a rogue dragon wing or tail didn't knock them off the ledge itself) though he did turn to study Cavaruth with a lazy, lop-sided grin. It surprised him that the blue actually spoke to him (a bit disconcerting too, considering he was accustomed only to Niyath's conversation!) but he made sure to offer the cordial blue another bow. "We shall indeed be sharing your ledge, provided you allow us. Orders are orders, though I am quite surprised A'ras and you were never informed. My apologies for disrupting your nap, and of course, informing you of all this new information so suddenly. But I promise you and yours won't have to move anywhere and as far as I know, no one else has been assigned here."
Niyath, being a very laid back and easy-going bronze, also added, This ledge will always be your ledge. I just hope you might allow me to borrow a small space of it for the time being. Niyath didn't mind having to share, and he didn't want to upset or confuse the blue any further. Really, he was a strange bronze dragon in that he wasn't overly ambitious, wasn't entirely chattery, and much preferred peace over anything else. . . With luck, Cavaruth and he could get along amicably. And yes, we are of the same wing. The wing with the green as the leader. We will fly and destroy thread together, you and I.
Xiazu, on the other hand, noticed that the big blue was staring at her. Crooning happily up at the blue, she stretched out her neck to better investigate Cav. She was still very small (having only been hatched recently) but she was everything a little green should be. And who didn't love attention. . . ?
"I hope you or yours don't mind fire-lizards," T'loa responded, leaning up against Niyath's arm. "She's just a baby yet, but she's trainable and is happy to help scrub dragons during their baths."
The little female is indeed very little. But she is not annoying like some. And yes, my rider is very tidy. . . it is part of the reason he has wished to find a new weyr for a long-long time.
T'loa didn't want to barge in on the man bathing, but he figured he may have to. It would only be appropriate. There was a chance A'ras wouldn't be quite as obliging as the blue. . . so best to wait to move in until he was officially recognized by everyone in this arrangement.

((Hehe! Glad you like him. He's got a lot of personality and definitely a fun dragon to play.))
The big blue clacked his toes on the stone as he listened to the bronze, "Mm...well sharing this weyr with a blue is far more comfortable than a green, I assure you." His head nodded back in complete confidence of that. Why would a bronze share with a a green he didn't quite know but in a tiny weyr it must have been...undignified. At least in his opinion, however, this bronze seemed rather...mild...amazingly enough.
Cavaruth tilted his head giving a very personable dragon-like grin to the rider, "Apologies accepted." he returned as his tail swished around to the front of his legs. "I do not mind sharing my ledge with Niyath; although A'ras might be cranky as he hates being uninformed. But...sometimes they forget to inform us of things. Maybe it has to do with...rank." Cav knew that the Weyr had many troubles from food to leadership. It wouldn't be surprising to him and probably his rider that only one party was informed. Although, he hoped that A'ras would be...reasonable.
"Ah..well it seems it is our ledge now. And I am sure we will battle thread well." Cavaruth responded to Niyath with content blue eyes. "I think that unless you can...shrink your small space is actually a bit wider than that." The blue teased the bronze just a hair while his muse was almost satisfied with the idea of a shrinking bronze as he would then be Larger indeed.
"Mmm...A'ras and I have not had a fire lizard in our weyr. A'ras likes to keep things in order except for his Klah and baked bubbly pies." he said as his lips rumbled out an appreciative greeting to the tiny green and wondered how a creature so tiny would be help at scrubbing a dragon; that confused the blue more than anything else that had been said today.
Meanwhile, A'ras finally dragged himself out of the tub half asleep. His nude form move slowly for a towel that trailed behind him as he walked out of the bath and into the main living area. His wet hair dripped water here and there because the towel never quite made it to his head or his body for that matter. Falling forward on the couch, he curled up against a pillow and muttered that he should eat...soon.
"Good Luck with my rider." Cavaruth chimed wondering if T'loa would be alright once he entered A'ras' abode. But soon, Cavaruth perked up and tapped his toes against the rock, "A'ras is...sort of ...awake."

T'loa was still rather fascinated that the blue dragon chose to speak so freely. It was slightly disconcerting, considering he was used to Niyath's exclusive 'voice' within his head but also a much easier to speak to Cavaruth directly. Many dragons chose not to speak to another, but it was rather refeshing to hear the blue without Niyath muddling up his conversation.
The bronze gave a slight snort, reaching down to give his rider a slight push. It was full of affection, his eyes whirling a bright blue, but he wanted to make it perfectly clear that he HAD heard that thought. I would not have muddled his words. I am quite smart, you know.
T'loa's easy smirk turned in to an outright grin as he glanced away from the blue to peer up at his lug of a beast. I know, you big oaf. But you must admit it is a much more practical route. I think we've found a good pair in the blue. . . Very polite too. It was pleasant. Not that the green dragon Niyath had shared a ledge with hadn't been pleasant but . . .well. . . she wasn't exactly known for being polite or quiet. In fact, she was rather showy and surly ESPECIALLY when she got proddy!
Thank goodness Niyath needn't deal with that every few sevendays. . . .
The big bronze looked up at Cavaruth and gave a friendly rumble himself. The fire-lizard is very tame but still being trained. She isn't too loud and Mine isn't very messy. It should be a good mix, I think.
T'loa decided to leave his things on the ledge, especially if A'ras was uninformed of his arrival. But it seemed as if he were stirring and that was good enough for the relaxed young man. He assumed Cavaruth would have informed him of his arrvival. . . . but, unfortunately for both bronze and blue rider, such a thing never seemed to happen.
Xiazu crooned fondly up at the big blue, her eyes whirling a brighter green at such attention. T'loa, of course, scooped her up and deposited her happily upon Niyath's forleg, upon which the little critter creeled once in protest before settling. Niyath was hers, afterall, as far as the little fire-lizard were concerned. Let all the other bronze fire-lizards in the Weyr chase their little queens. . . SHE owned a big-bronze, thankyou!
"Thanks, Cavaruth," T'loa bowed politely again to the blue and flashed him an easy grin. "I appreciate your patience and am quite sure will be seeing more of you than you'd like." Lethargically, the tall man loped within the weyr.
"A'ras? I'm sure Cavaruth informed you that - - - " Dipping within the main living area, T'loa paused and choked on his words as the blue rider was sprawled quite nakedly upon the couch.
Oh. . . . Well.
Glancing away, he cleared his throat and took a half-step back. "I . . see this isn't a good time, eh?" He wasn't upset nor concerned about the naked man, T'loa had seen a helluvalot worse and even wound up tangled with a male or two since Niyath began chasing greens. It wasn't HIS particular cup of tea, but he wasn't going to make a big to do about it either.
If A'ras liked to walk around the weyr naked, that was his own affair, but T'loa wasn't sure he'd appreciate a bronze rider playing witness.
Niyath, of course, rumbled with amusement upon his new ledge, eyes whirling a brighter blue. He did peek at Cavaruth curiously before asking, Does Yours often greet others naked. . .? Mine was quite surprised. It was a partial tease, as any respectable bronze understood that most people weren't naked and enjoyed their clothing and fineries.

Cavaruth actually preferred speaking his own mind to people because A'ras sometimes jumbled up what he said...or strategically reworded the conversation. Besides, how could you help a young human female if you didn't talk to them? Oh at times it could be...amusing when they didn't know what he was thinking but most of the time, he wanted to assure them they needed to be...rescued.
"So how does she help wash dragons?" he questioned as his curiosity started to peek about the small female flit. He wasn't quite sure how he could save something that small from anything. Because he never had particularly thought of flits having genders...until now. Which for him it gave him a new avenue of helping behaviors to consider but for A'ras...a new challenge might be about to unfold.
The blue's eyes zeroed in on the little female and started pondering the possibilities as he settled back down into a comfortable sprawl in his favorite spot. His dragon-like yawn rolled past his lips and he lay his head down back to the comfortable stone.
----
Within the weyr, A'ras who was uninformed by his rather spirited blue had just about settled in to with the couch determining that food really wasn't required; just a nice long extension of the tub nap was in order. He was just about slipping into dreamland when he heard a voice that didn't quite fit with what his imagination had started to display. It was then he realized that...some one was close...wait...IN...his weyr! "WWhhahaat!?" he's voice stumbling out of his mouth as he was dragged out of dreamland. "What...who??" He grabbed the towel that lay out on the floor and dragged it around him as he sat up. "Cav!" he said outloud even as his mind said the same words.
"What? Oh him? They just got here." Cav mused innocently back to his rider.
Cav then chuckled back at Niyath mischeviously, "A'ras was...not quite awake. So I didn't want to...disturb him." It was easy to see that the blue played a bit of a prank and a tease at his rider's expense. "Oh...was he naked? I didn't know that." Cav tried not to laugh any more than the snorting that was escaping his nose.
Once A'ras' eyes focused and his towel cinched at his waist he spoke a bit more coherently, "Umm....Ok...Cav, you got me but you know paybacks are a b***h!"he spoke out loud to his dragon even as he thought it to the beast then looked over at the bronze rider barely remembering him from the first wing meeting.
"Sorry about that, Cav can be very playful at times much to my own chagrin and we don't have many visitors up in our weyr. So, ah.. have a seat." He offered a comfortable chair that matched the couch for the most part. "So...how can Cav and I help you?" He said as he walked over to his heart and poured two mugs of K'lah from a small kettle that hung on a hook in the hearth. He returned and set the mug in front of T'loa on the K'lah table then sat back down on the couch. For the most part, A'ras took this visit in stride considering the circumstances but the Weyr was a bit freer in their attitude about skin compared to the holds. Although, he hadn't expected to be...displayed to someone he really didn't know so he sipped on his K'lah and watched the man in front of him waiting for the conversation to continue; wondering why it was an unannounced visit.

((Sorry for the delay! : P ))
Niyath listened to the blue, Xiazu happily crawling up his arm and shoulder to take a perch between the ridges of his back. She was a very small fire-lizard, very new to the world, but the bronze found her antics sweet and he could easily appreciate her attention. If she ever got obnoxious, a growl or bugle was enough to settle her. . . .but thankfully, such fits were rare for the little one.
Looking over at the chivalrous blue, Niyath thought about his question before answering. Have firelizards not joined you while you bathed? He questioned, surprised. Usually the Weyrs fire-lizard population adored any dragon within the water and though some preferred them to stay away, others enjoyed free scrubs by a slew of them. Even by the oceanside wild ones sometimes come out to assist. . . They crawl amongst your back and use their little front feet to help groom and scrub. Sometimes its ticklish, but mostly it just feels ridiculously pleasant. It was hard to describe, as Niyath hadn't actually watched what Xiazu and the others did. It just. . . felt very pleasant.
Xiazu gave the blue dragon a happy chirp, staring back with gently whirling eyes. She knew that they were speaking of her, even if she didn't quite understand everything. Something about washing. . . and why she washed. . . . So she sent Cavaruth little images of the last time she washed Niyath and assisted with other various dragons; the images did indeed show a flock scrubbing the various dragons shown, and of course was accompanied by feelings of pleasure and fun.
She hadn't lived a very long time, but though smaller than all the adult fire-lizards, she did know how to bathe.
I'm sure next time you swim, she would be happy to help. The little fire-lizard gave a trill of agreement before happily curling in to a small green ball upon Niyath's back, listening.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
T'loa, on the other hand, was merely bemused at the entire situation. Thankfully the blue dragon had been very helpful and kind in allowing them to stay; now came the tricky part, informing A'ras that his weyr was to be shared. Oh, the tall man didn't expect to be completely put out, orders were orders after all. . . . but surely with how crowded things at Ista were becoming, one had a right to be concerned about their personal space. If Niyath and T'loa were assigned, who else might get placed within the spacious area?
Not at all embarrassed about the show of skin, T'loa leaned against the wall of the entry way while A'ras tugged a towel around his waist. He'd lived at Ista all his life, and such things didn't bother or upset him; hell, Niyath had flown many a dragon with a male rider and as such, he'd suffered the consequences. It was always a little weird afterwards, but such were the consequences of Impression. A flight was a flight, nothing more. . .
"No worries, he was delightful company upon first arrival," he stated lazily, a lop-sided, easy-going smile glued upon his features. At the invitation to sit, the tall rider loped over, his entire body language relaxed and screaming lethargy. T'loa was never one to be rushed or pressured or ill at ease; nothing seemed to phase him even with the most dreadful of news. Even when Lyveana had been tapped as his new Wingleader, all T'loa could do was shrug his shoulders with the decision and muse that it had something to do with progress. All he'd been glad was it hadn't been him. . . He didn't want the blood of others on his hands once Thread fell again. . . .assuming it would, after all.
Let other bronze and brown riders bicker over rank; that was too much pressure and the lad just didn't feel confident enough to ever desire a position. It wasn't so bad now, even though over crowding was the biggest problem all of Pern faced. . . but with the approach of the Red Star and rumors of Thread. . . . Nope. He'd support his leaders and do his damndest to be the best rider he could be, but he was young yet; he wasn't ready to lead or give direction. . .Too much pressure.
Taking a sip of klah, he set the mug down and leaned back against the chair. Well, best to come out with it. "Don't shoot the messenger," he warned breezily with another grin, "But apparently Niyath and I are your new assigned weyr mates. We just got word yesterday, they found out you had some space available, and informed me of the change-up. Somewhere in the mix, they neglected to inform the most affected part, you and Cavaruth." And that was that, or so T'loa figured.
Picking up the mug to sip at the drink, he waited for A'ras to digest the information. It would be interesting to see how the blue rider reacted; he might get upset, angry. . .was he a temperamental sort? Hard to say, but at least the man knew the blue rider enjoyed walking around naked. But if that was the worst of their roblems, hey, T'loa could deal. . .

(It's ok. RL has been consuming my time as well. smile )
The blue tilted his large head against and glanced back up at the bronze from his comfortable resting position. "No...not on most occasions. My rider and I travel frequently so bathing isn't necessarily in a flit-full surroundings. Maybe you just attract them, Niyath." His voice still amused by the concept but considered that flits...from what A'ras said, appreciated shiny things. Niyath qualified as 'shiny' much more than he.
Cavaruth chuckled with a slow stretch of the neck as he saw the images of flit washing techniques. It was a curious scene but he wasn't quite sure that having a ton of flits swarming around would be as fun as Niyath described it as. However, he was open to new experiences but....uncertain of the results.
"Then, I will let her...help." replied Cavaruth as he pondered what a small little flit could do as far as cleaning...maybe one eye ridge?
-------
"Weyrmates?!" exclaimed A'ras almost dropping his K'lah at the word. What!? was the next word that played through his mind but didn't make it to his lips. How could this have happened? It wasn't something he really had thought about much even as the Weyr started to fill. A momentary look of shock on his face as mind worked through it coming up with no reasonable answer.
The next annoyance was never receiving any word...no orders...nothing. He sincerely wanted to ring the neck of whoever set this up and forgot to tell him. His fingers clenched the K'lah mug as he tried to avoid letting his emotions bleed through too much. Not much success though but at least it kept him from almost dropping the mug a second time.
Cavaruth chuckled in his head, "Oh A'ras, be reasonable, they need a home.... We cannot let them be homeless. I have plenty of space even with Niyath and...the flit. Besides, if it is orders...there is little we can do about it. Considering all the other issues of the Weyr that aren't being resolve, do you really think they'd do anything about this? "
A'ras grumbled and set his Klah mug on the table. Even if his dragon had a point and the orders probably were floating out there somewhere if he looked, it just seems that everything was going in the wrong direction - From the sharding Green Wingleader to the serious overcrowding that seemed to be padded by lice and other health issues. Maybe he could have compounded his thoughts with the other things that annoyed him about this situation....Without a roommate was easier to vent when he didn't have to worry about what ears would hear...and personally he enjoyed roaming around all day his weyr as naked as a jay or with his loincloth and beaded belt. He hated feeling confined...and that is what roomates usually meant.
He sighed after circling around the issue in his head, "Sounds like I don't have much of a choice in the matter. Nothing against you of course, but I didn't expect this. Cav and I have been lucky enough to have this space alone for quite some time, so I'm not so keen on the idea of sharing it." He glanced up at T'loa as he fingered through his long locks wondering what to do now.
"You should...show him around, A'ras. Make him feel welcome." Cav coaxed with a content snort. Somewhere in the midst of all this Cavaruth had already decided for both of them how things were going to be even though A'ras would have liked to have thrown the 'guests' out on their arses! Stubborn Dragon! "Yes, stubborn enough for the two of us, I assure you. And if you get too grumpy about this I will be sure to give a Helping Wing to every female I can find. Oh..I could enjoy that sort of adventure. " he snorted as his blue head casually winked at Niyath.
"Alright! Alright!...you can stay. Damn stubborn dragon!" he muttered unders his breath. "Not as if it would stop you from your favorite past time!"
"No...probably not but if you're reasonable...I will be...reasonable." said Cav as his wings stretched just a tad along his legs very satisfied with his victory. "Oh and the rider is tidy so you won't lose sleep over that."
A'ras finally realized that he had sort of left the conversation even if he had spoken out loud for much of it. His frustration had not left him but he focused his eyes back on T'loa before speaking, "Mm...ah..Cav says you're tidy. Well, that's good. I keep the weyr pretty clean. I've done alot of work here to make it...home. I suppose I should show you around the place?" There had to be a silver lining somewhere in this?....Right?
