"I don't want to go." Daemon ground out, pulling his hat on a bit tighter, wishing this stupid female he was stuck with would just leave him alone. He liked this TV thing... it was interesting, and it was helping him learn about the world. The... news, as the people here called it, helped give him insight into the way things worked and why they did as well. At the moment, he was sullenly refusing to budge an inch, watching it through slitted eyes as Cerri nattered at him to go to the Library again. He wasn't going to budge an inch, not for her... until she mentioned that they might see Mariette again.

Well.

She was going to be his Queen, whether she liked it or not, so the boy decided he'd better go and see if she was there, getting into trouble again. "Fine." he muttered, hating that Cerri knew how to pull his strings. Within twenty minutes, they were up and out the door, heading towards where Cerri usually could find the library; they were in 'luck', he thought sourly, for there it stood. Fixing his face into a bored, expressionless mask, he walked with the woman up the stairs and into the building, glaring at her when she began to call.

"Helllloooo! Is anyone here?" she practically shouted, her voice carrying through the building. She hoped it wasn't Ink who answered her summons. She liked the man well enough, but... she wanted someone who was Daemon's age... someone that he could talk to and maybe relate to. He needed to learn how to interact with others, after all.

With school out for the summer and Varian being unendingly curious about things, Erigin found herself walk the young boy down the streets looking for a bookstore that carried those early years homeschooling kits. Certainly the child was just fresh from his books, which had been one heck of a read, and she wanted him to have plenty of time to run and play but a bit of schooling never hurt and he seemed to type to want to learn things. That and if she occupied his eagar mind with educational facts maybe he'd not start looking at magic and she wouldn't have to worry about him turning anyone into a tree and thusly somewhere a tree becoming a person.

Part of the Seraph wondered if she should tell the child who and what he really was and another part argued he seemed too young to understand something even she was a bit baffled about. As it was he didn't object to the name she'd given him and seemed to be content in life for now.

Varian followed calmly behind the orange haired woman, the boy mostly enthralled by the steady motions of the yo-yo he was playing with. The long stringed toy was rather interesting to him and he'd caught onto it's most basic motions rather quickly regardless of which hand it was tied too. He seemed rather good with both his hands actually regardless of what he was doing.

Suddenly his warm brown eyes looked to the left and the normally relaxed child darted with sudden energy across the street towards a strange library that hadn't seemed to be there when he'd looked up the street earlier, it seemed to blend right into the other things around it. Ignoring his mother's startled yell the tall young boy jumped up the steps and slipped into the building. He didn't know why but he needed to see this place, right now

Cerri actually yelped when she heard the door open behind her, and then instantly regretted it when Daemon whirled and put himself between her and the door, eyes cold as ice, hands jammed into his pockets. He looked at rest and at the same time somehow exceptionally dangerous that way, with that glazed look in his eye.

He looked ready to kill.

When his guardian yelped, all he could think was that she was in danger, and no matter how annoying he found her constant chatter, he wouldn't, couldn't allow her to be harmed. They belonged to each other now. He almost relaxed when he saw that it was only a boy, but then had a thought - he was only a boy too. And if anyone ever relaxed around him, well... that was likely the last thing they would ever do.

"Who are you?" he asked in a silky croon, a distant hint of thunder in his voice. "What do you want?" If he came any closer to Cerri, he thought, smiling a smile that sent shivers down his guardian's spine, then he'd dig a grave and make the boy disappear. Part of him wondered where the thought of graves had come from, but it seemed as natural as breathing, something that came to him easily and without effort.

Varian was completely oblivious to any danger he might be in, or perhaps the young boy was simply unafraid of the other who stood before him. Either way he once again began to spin the metallic silver yo-yo though whether it was it himself or the stranger he was trying to entrance it was hard to say for sure. With Varian nothing was a given.

"Varian" Or so he'd been told anyways, something felt not quite right about it but at the same time that feeling did feel right. " I came becuase I could." The child's voice was warm and even, utterly unassuming and yet behind his light brown eyes was an intensity, a warning that behind his placidity hid great power whether or not the child himself knew it.

The sound of panting echoed in the building as Erigin caught up to her little one still unused to having to suddenly dart after people. Looking around she was confused as to why Varian had suddenly needed to run off into a strange library of all places, the atmosphere of the building made the angel's feathers ruffled slightly in nervousness.

Still she smiled at little at the other child and his parent " I hope Varian wasn't disturbing you"
