It's not really that they're attached to worldly possessions, it's more like they're attached to the place because it was special to them when they were alive. It could be where their family is, where they used to live, etc.
@Ketchup - At least you know when to leave! I have a friend who ghosts hunts and doesn't know when to leave. It's irritating. ;-;
I just think ghost hunting can be perceived as a little rude to the spirit. I tend to let them be. Not to say I won't go somewhere and make sure it's haunted, if it is, I avoid it. I guess that can be considered the same as ghost hunting, but it seems a lot different to me because I'm not actually looking for spirits, I'm making sure they're not there. xD Yeah, like I said I'll do it if I've been asked. Or I have permission to be there. I don't go to random graveyards or houses. And just ghost hunt. I can't stand people who just pick up cameras and go snapping random shots and irritate the ghost just to get it to come out. That's what my friend does. gonk

I just sort of face palm and walk the other way. i agree then, ghost hunting i rude and selfish if done the way ur freind does it...i ussually just talk to spirits over the ouji board and stuff......if they spaze or are upset, i allow them to leave and stuff! You really need to leave the Ouija board alone. It's not something to mess with. neutral Just saying. And wow, I'm sorry, that would piss me off. I'd have to slap a b***h, if that was my friend. well, i dont see whats wrong with a ouija board...especially since we made our own and used some holy water on it so as not to allow evil spirits on it!

I've made one from a paper clip and string. They're not hard to make. Or you could make it with something that means something to you, such as a ring. Also, they're safer then Ouija boards.

I've had candles in glass jars fly across the room before. It was quite shocking to my mother who was over at the time.

I've had things move on me also. The main one I remember is a pill container that had my uncle's blood pressure meds in it that went missing. I had cleaned the kitchen, looking for it, and stopped to take a drink of tea. As I took the first drink, the pill container appeared at eye level from nowhere and fell to the floor, leaving me staring at it in surprise and with a "wtf" feeling.
I agree about not using the ouiji boards. They can call stuff that you don't want to have called. (I've never used one, nor do I intend to.)
A friend of mine, close enough to be a sister, used one, and it scorched the yard where she and another person were using it. She hasn't touched one since.
