DoeHeart
Doeheart sniffed the breeze. She really was getting the best of the wind from her high perch in a strong old elm tree. The gentle wind playfully tossing her silvery white locks around her heart shaped face. Her nostrils flared at the familiar smell.
A faint leafy yet musky smell, so much like her own parents.
her own parents... here her thoughts trailed off.
It had been quite a while since she saw another elf. Not since the small moon had died. Her face contorted as a wave of emotions overcame her. Sadness at her parents death, embarrassment for her months of wallowing in sorrow, nervousness at the unknown that crept closer to her lofty perch.
New elfs, and not of her own blood.
She had seen so little of elf kind, since her own parents had died. She had been raised apart, and taught to be of solitude. But months of independence had grown weary on her small frame. She longed to have somebody talk to, to have somebody playfully tug on her locks as her father did or to share the smelly burden of tanning, as her mother did so skillfully.
New elfs...
Her face crept into a weary and nervous smile. Doehart's eyes gazed down at the sleeping cub, leaf. Who had dozed off at the base of the elm tree.
Would they be wolfriders?
They certainly smelled like wolfs. Fear and worry contorted her smile into one of dismay. Leaf was certainly too small to fight for a place in a new pack. What would she do if he wasn't accepted?
what if I wasn't accepted? she thought.
The sudden anxiety of the situation rooted Doehart to the spot.
Worrying thoughts crossed her mind,
What if they didn't like me? What if they thought my eyes were weird, or that I wasn't a good enough hunter? Maybe I'm too young or....
Doeheart stopped as she noticed her hands gripped the branch hard enough to scar the bark.
she sighed and let go.
Leaf whimpered from the base of the tree, seeming to sense the tenseness of his companion's mood.
"I so tired of aloneness" Doeheart said out loud. Her own voice surprising her. It was horse and stressed with disuse. Yet the soft voice carried the truth that she had not seem to understand until then.
Below her, Her wolf pup yipped and wagged his tail encouragingly, and Doeheart smiled down at him. Without warning, Leaf darted forward towards the smell, barking and bouncing as he went.
Doeheart's heart fluttered. She winced as she thought, "I guess he made the decision for me" and lept down to chase after the pup. Leaving her sorrows behind, and running towards the unknown.

Morningtail ran through the woods with Dewpaw perched on his back. The young wolfrider leaned into the wolf's movements, moving with him instead of seperrately. She loved when they were one like this, together. It reminded her of her old holt, although it also reminded her of running with a pack. But those thoughts didn't stay long, as the ravvit they had seen had just made a sharp turn. Morningtail turned with the ravvit, but the change in course bugged Dewpaw. She looked to her right, where she had originally been heading. The path was clear in the direction, a trail used by all sorts of wildlife, and Dew knew a ravvits hole was not too far along that path. 'Why run from safety, unless...'
*Stop!* Dew sent to Morningtail, the wolf hesistating for only a moment. The prey was so close, he didn't understand the need to stop, to let teh prey escape. The wolf looked over his shoulder at his bond, a whine escaping his lips.
*Oh, don't sulk. Something is wrong. Something interesting.* Dew grinned at her own words, and her wolfbond grinned with her. Dew urged him to go back the way the had come and to the spot the ravvit had turned. She took a deep breath through her nose, testing the air for something new, something dangerous. She caught a faint scent, but the breeze was not in her favor, and it was quickly lost as the wind turned. "I wonder what's there. It smelled kind of like wolf, but I haven't seen any but you since we left the holt," Dew said as she scanned the forest floor and patted Morningtail absently.

DoeHeart
Doeheart could just see Leaf bound through the underbrush and onto a game trail. She could hear yipping and sniffing.
oh joy she thought. Already friendly with the natives.
Doeheart crept up to the path, watching carefully from the safety of the bushes. Sure enough Leaf was already excitedly sniffing and bouncing around a young brown wolf.
Doeheart's face creased with worry
*Dont get carried away* she warned her friend.
and suddenly, Doeheart laid eyes on the elf, her heart and breath lay still inside her.
I am not alone. She thought. Relive washing over her, lifting so many worrys that weighed her down without her knowing. Biting back emotional tears, she watched the brown wolf. Hopefully Leaf wasn't making so much of an a** of himself that It wouldn't be so awkward to introduce herself. Doeheart lowered herself into a crawl, and slowly inched forward, her eyes locked on the wolfs. Hoping that the meeting was fairing well.

Morningtail and Dew took a step back as the small wolf ran at them, both startled by the young pup. They were certain there were no packs nearby, and a cub that small probably wouldn't have survived alone. Especially one who would run up to an unknown, larger wolf.
"He's a cute little guy. But where'd he come from," Dewpaw stepped over the cub and walked a few feet along the trail, testing the wind as she went. The smell of salt from the vast deep mixed with the musty forest and animal smells. She could still sense something else, something that wasn't there before, but she couldn't place it. She glanced over her shoulder at the two wolves. Morningtail had warmed up tot he cub, but only just. The small wolf was no threat to him, so he would remain the leader of the pack, even if it was only him and the cub.
Dewpaw smiled when the thought hit her, a pack wolf, a holt wolf! The wolf wasn't familiar, but maybe he was a new bond, new enough to know Morningtail but for her not to know him.
*Hello? Anyone out there?* Dew sent openly to the immediate area. *I'm Dewpaw, a wolfrider.* She glanced around, as she sent. Her senses told her something was close, if only the wind would cooperate and the salt in the air would go away.

 DoeHeart
The sending stilled Doeheart's breath.
What do i do, what do i do? she fretted. Her nervousness rooting her to the spot.
As if sensing Doeheart's hesitation, Leaf left the older wolf and crashed through the under brush towards Doeheart. When he was near enough, he pounced and headbutted Doeheart right in the face. "OW!" Doeheart exclaimed, and then quickly clamped her hands over her mouth. A quick blush heating her face. There was no option to walk away now. Surely the elf had heard her foolish noise. Regretting ever chasing after Leaf, Doeheart stood. Took a deep breath, she moved from her hiding space, and onto the path. *I am Doeheart* she sent, nervously avoiding looking at the elf in the face, and hoping to the high ones that Leaf didnt leave a welt on her head. Leaf danced around her, barking excitedly.

Dewpaw held back a small laugh at Doeheart's entrance. A wolfrider, clearly with a recent wolf bond, but not as young as her bond. The wolf was clearly a pup, but Dew could swear the elfess in front of her was older than she was.
Morningtail had a different reaction, quite the opposite actually. He stepped between Dewpaw and Doeheart, much the same way he had when Dewpaw had first met all of the other elves of this tribe. Dewpaw whacked him lightly between the ears and sent for him to back down.
After a quick glare at her bond, she looked back at Doeheart. She looked a bit like Dew guess she looked on her first day at the cove. *Are you traveling alone? Do you have a tribe?* Dewpaw sent to her, letting her cheerful tone drip into the send. Happy-go-lucky as ever, she was excited to meet a new elf, and a new elf meant more survivors, maybe more from her tribe.

DoeHeart *I am alone* Doeheart responded, as she bent over to pick up Leaf. He wiggled and barked in her arms. *I was raised without a tribe* Doeheart continued, sending images of her parents, and of how isolated her upbringing was. *Are you with a Tribe?* Doeheart peaked upwards, and finally gazed into the face of her new acquaintance. How odd it was to see elven eyes staring back at her.

Dewpaw blinked, tilting her head to the side in confusion. 'A wolfrider without a pack.' The idea was different, odd. Wolfriders were social, they lived in packs, learned in packs. The pack was part of the Way, no way around it. She stared at Doeheart, knowing the girl was telling the truth. She couldn't lie in a send, plus there were a the images the elf sent to her.
Dew smiled, *I have a Tribe. There are a bunch of us here.* With the send came a bunch of images of the different elves in the tribe. Savith and Llune the gliders. Creek Runner the Plainsrunner. Peyote the Sun folk. Blaze and Autumn and Dancer and Starsong and the wavedancers.
The smile faded for a second as Dew thought about her wolfrider tribe. *I had another tribe, before the moons shattered. A wolfrider on. A pack.* Dew sent, but no images went with it, only a sense of loss and sorrow. She shook her head and forced the smile back to her lips *You're welcome to join our tribe here. You don't have to be alone.* She held out her hadn as she sent, a sign of her offer.

 DoeHeart
Doeheart hesitated. 'A tribe to call her own' Something she had only dreamed of in months of solitude.
*I, would like to meet your tribe* Doeheart said shyly.
Taking care to not offend, She put down Leaf and took the hand of her new friend.
*Can you introduce me to the others?*

Dew smiled, although Morningtail was still a little cautious with the new elfess. Dew pushed him back and gave a friendly growl; Morningtail responded by walking away, toward the waterfall.
*Of course I'll introduce you. You're going to love everyone! They're fun! And nice. And interesting. All different. Although, I guess anyone would be different since you haven't really met many elves. And you'll be safe here. We have a lot of hunters, and protectors. Most aren't too talkative though.* Dew sent, then trailed off, realizing she was once again rambling. "Sorry, I do that sometimes," she muttered.
