so my job has got us all pulling mandatory overtime... ten hour days for the past few weeks, and these will continue for the forseeable future. i wake up, go to work, get home, fall asleep, wake up, and go back to work. havent had time to do much of anything else lately, which is why my presence around these parts has been so scarce. i'll try to stop in more often, but im so tired all the time i'm not sure how often that will be.
on the bright side, i'm making time and a half and am too tired to spend all that extra dough, so what doesnt get stolen from me by our corrupt and morally bankrupt bureaucracy will still be around to help with books and such when scool starts. neutral

Digital Malevolence Don't worry about not being around too much, no one seems to be around much anymore, including me. Hey! I'm around 8-10 hours each day, excluding weekends!

Overtime sucks sure, but it mostly depends on the job... my measly 35 hours or so a week is comparable to overtime with the idiocy I have to put up with on a daily basis... I mean c'mon... is it really that hard to order a sandwich? I work at Subway....
I've had someone ask for yellow cheese... which... we have white american, cheddar(obviously orange), and pepper jack. The logical assumption is they want cheddar, since orange is the closest color we have to yellow.... "Um, that's not yellow... that's orange... I wanted the white kind." By that point I was all mumbling "Urge to kill rising.... reaching critical mass.... meltdown eminent." I hate my job....

You would think placing an order would be simple, wouldn't you? I've had customers so stupid that after I finally finish taking their order I need to go in the back and pulverize the crap out of cardboard boxes as an alternative to strangling the customer.

Warrior of Metal You would think placing an order would be simple, wouldn't you? I've had customers so stupid that after I finally finish taking their order I need to go in the back and pulverize the crap out of cardboard boxes as an alternative to strangling the customer. I have the same problem. I punch ham and cheese though.

no really though, I feel your pain. I am in the process of being promoted and I basically live at work as well. The imperative difference being that I actually like and believe in my job. uhm... sometimes... sweatdrop
