I would simply like to point out to anyone in the guild, that the crew (myself included) are indeed moving threads to the proper subforums. The main forum, AKA the "Central Section," is primarily for generic steampunk discussion and guild-related discussion. Apparently it is still not clear to the majority of members that threads are being moved to subforums.

If you created a thread here in the main forum, and came back later to check on it only to find it was not there anymore... it has NOT been deleted. The only threads that get deleted are the grossly inappropriate threads, such as those which violate the Gaia TOS. Some duplicate threads, such as those declaring "I made this thread earlier, but I can't find it now, so I made a new one!" may also be deleted. Threads discussing the same topic but created by different members are not deleted unless requested by a respective topic/thread creator.

Simply check the appropriate subforum that your missing thread may have been moved to. Do NOT make a new thread in the main forum as a replacement. It is not difficult to figure out which subforum your thread was moved to. Generally there may be 2 or 3 applicable subforums, and it won't kill you to check them. The more we use the subforums, the smoother discussions can flow!


A few specific common scenarios:

* Discussion about various entertainment media such as books, movies, anime, music, comics/manga, etc. belong in The Library (narrative or motion works) or The Museum (static works).

* Discussion about creating or purchasing things belong in The Factory and The Shopping District, respectively. Note that "fashion" discussion also belongs in The Shopping District. If you make it yourself, though, it may belong in The Factory, instead.

* If you make a thread about Gaia, Gaia items, Gaia economy, Gaia NPCs, Gaia events, etc, these WILL be moved to the Gaia by Gaslight subforum even if they are steampunk-related.

* If you make a video game thread, it will be moved to The Amusement Arcade subforum. Steampunk game threads may be left on the main forum at the discretion of all crew members. If it gets moved, do not be surprised. Forum-based games belong in the Tea Time! (Chatterbox) subforum (see below).

* All non-discussion and non-inquiry threads belong in the Tea Time! (Chatterbox) subforum. This includes general non-steampunk discussion as well as forum-based games. Forum-based games are word games (rhyming games, letter games), mad libs, impromptu writing activities, "find a picture and post it" games, etc. The only exception is RolePlaying, which belongs in The Airship Docks (see below).

* All roleplaying belongs in The Airship Docks. Roleplay setup may be posted in The Airship Docks or the Character Profiles subforums, whichever is more appropriate for your situation.

* Photography is included in 'Arts'
