What does dwell in the forest? It's up to you to find out. Are you willing to stay and discover all that this forest has to offer?

Rayne loved the forest, and always had. Well, she had a pretty good excuse too. Rayne was different than most people, if not the only one of her kind. Rayne was different in not just one or two ways but many. Like being able to see at inhuman distances and in the dark, can run over sixty miles per hour, being able to hear and smell more than the best tracking dog.

Rayne was alone and had been alone all her life. She was born in to a loving family, but when she lost control she was moved to foster care, and when her secret was revealed there she ran away. Being alone with no one to talk to for ten years is not very good for the mind or soul. But she had animals to talk to...

Rayne was telepathic. She can read minds and talk to them in their heads. But that's not the only secret Rayne tries so hard to keep. If you think it through, putting her senses from being able to see, hear, smell, and run, it's not that hard. Rayne is werewolf. And she loved it. Feeling free from the biggest cities to the smallest towns. Living where ever she wants, running from every danger to human or animal. Being able to run over inhuman speeds whether she was in her human form or her wolf form.

Rayne crouched in the shrubs, her brown hair put in to a braid and the nape of her neck, so it wouldn't cover her eyes while hunting. She could smell a deer coming from the right side of her. She moved silently, stalking the deer. Once she caught sight of it she quickly stripped down and changed to her wolf form and pushed her clothes under the bushes to hide them. A low rumbling sound started deep inside her chest, just quiet enough that the buck couldn’t hear it. She crouched down lower, getting ready to leap at the unaware deer, but she smelt something that she hardly ever smelled here in the middle of the forest. A human. No. More than just one human, maybe three or four. Maybe even five. Rayne let the deer go, turning around and grabbing her clothes in her mouth and sprinted to her nearest cave home. She set them down behind a rock and ran back out in to the warm sunlight. The sunbeams made her russet fur glow with warmth.

Hello? Rayne called in her mind, making it sound like as if it were being yelled by a human. Is anyone there? But the weirdest thing was happening; she couldn’t hear anything coming from the humans. She skidded to a halt and walked back to the cave. She switched back to her human form and quickly got dressed. In the same pair of stylish faded ripped jeans, and a dark blue tank top that complimented her silvery blue eyes, as she wore for a year. Of course she washed them… In the nearest stream she could find, which wasn’t very far from here. It’s probably time for me to head back to the nearest town to get me a new pair pants and a shirt or two… She thought to herself. And maybe even a new pair of sneakers. She added, looking down and her old torn and worn out converse shoes. Rayne’s hair was disheveled after turned to wolf and back to human, so she looked for a puddle and sunk her hands in to them and wet her hair down, putting it in to a neat French braid.

“Hey! Is anyone out here?” She tried again. She could still smell the humans, and it was becoming stronger, so she must be headed the right way. Oh yeah, there’s a trail up ahead. Any human would take that. She walked to the path and sat down on a rock near the edge of the hiking trail. She picked up a stick and a rock, rubbing the rock to the end of the stick, making a slight point. Her ears pricked, as if she was in her wolf form, as she heard footsteps approaching. She stood up, feeling a bit anxious.

“Hello?” She called out once again, hoping they would answer back.

Age: 16
Taylor walked quickly, and as quietly as possible, through the darkening forest, listening for any sign of danger. She hated the way her boots made crunching noises as she stepped on dry leaves; it distracted her. Taylor glanced around to make sure she wasn’t being watched before leaping up into a nearby tree. She climbed up to her favorite spot; on one of the thickest branches. After sitting down, with her feet dangling as usual, she pulled her sketchpad out of a small knothole in the trunk of her tree. She sat it in her lap and opened to a new page. Taylor reached back inside the hold and pulled out a dull pencil. She quickly sharpened it with the dagger she kept in her belt.

Taylor gazed out over the tops of the trees as she sketched a picture of a large, and beautiful wolf she had seen earlier that day. She was sitting in a tree down by the river when she spotted the animal on the riverbank across from her. As it lowered its head Taylor crouched, ready to launch herself to another branch. As soon as the wolf began drinking the cool water, Taylor hurled herself across the creek and into a branch directly above it. She sat silently as the wolf cautiously looked around the clearing, and began drinking again.

Her dress swished around her legs in the gentle breeze as she continued her drawing of the wolf. She finished within minutes. After assessing her work, she put her pencil and sketchbook back in the knothole and jumped out of the tree. She landed softly on her feet and immediately began walking north, towards the clearing. Taylor’s footsteps could not be heard over the sound of the wind whistling through the trees. She smiled as a cluster of leaves swirled around her. She calmly picked one out of her hair and watched its slow descent to the ground. As Taylor reached up to pick a bright green leaf off of a low branch, she heard the crack of a twig behind her. In less than a second Taylor was crouched in the branches of a large oak tree, scanning the ground below her. Though she saw nothing, Taylor decided to continue the rest of her trip in the trees.

Soon enough, Taylor reached the clearing where she had first seen the wolf. To her dismay, the clearing was empty. Without a sound, she jumped out of the safely of the trees once more, and landed in the layer of moss around the river. She threw a sidelong glance over her shoulder before sitting down on the damp ground. Taylor dipped her hands in the cold, clear water to wash of the sap that had stuck to her hands after jumping into the oak. Again Taylor heard the snap of a twig off in the fringe of trees. She dried her hands off and leaped onto a branch over the water. She crouched silently and listened as peculiar footsteps came closer and closer to entering the quiet clearing.
