I'm thinking about getting my lip pierced.
I was wondering if it hurt, and how it feels compared to getting your ears pierced. o.O
Edit: Also, how do they do it? I like to know the details before making a big decision like putting a hole in my body.

You'll feel a little pinch but it won't really hurt.

it hurtsd more than the ear. but the pain goes away. watch out though. those get very infected

You can feel the needle in there, but if you just keep thinking about something else till it is over, it will be fine. how old are you as well might I asked? I'm 22 and I just got mine 4 months ago. I addore it, it boosted my confidence as soon as I got it. But you have to take into consideration most older generation, and work places will have a problem with your unconformity. o_O. YOU MUST GARGLE AND SWISH SALT WATER RIGHT WHERE YOU GET IT PEIRCED FOR 2 WEEKS MINIMUM. you must twist it in and out every day, you must keep the bar clean. You must use listorine that is NON alchoholic, and keep your teeth farely clean. Okay That all being said, if you are under 18, I would look a pictures of the actual peircing being done, find people who have had it done and ask them, and make sure your parents won't flip. over 18, you are old enough that I think you won't change your mind on getting it and regret it later. smile that all being said, it hurts about 4 times as much as getting your ear peirced. they have to hold the needle in the hole while the wind the ring in. DO NOT change your mind in the middle. Believe it or not, I hate pain, and I was trying to talk to my friends during mine. We have pictures @___@

I figured it would hurt quite a bit. I've read up a bit on it, but nothing I read was very descriptive. I don't work at the moment, so that won't be a problem. I'm in school to be a commercial artist, so there's really no problem with not conforming. :3 And thanks a lot for the info, it gives me quite a bit more to think about, but it will help me make the right decision. ^^

I wish i was still in art school. costs more than my head is worth as a bounty XD. Anyways, all things considered that you have said, I say do it. You seem to have thought it over quite well, you are at a decent age to peirce and not regret it later, and as an artist, i think these things are the ultimate expression! If it helps any, I really am terrified of pain, and I hate it so much, but after the first pinch, you don't feel too much. ear peircings don't hurt me XD. I actually have had my lip ring for about 2-3 months now, and I addore it so much, I've contemplated getting the other side done to make a snake bite look @_@. But I want to get my ears all done up first, so. Yeah. (thinking about a nose peircing too o_o) << >>

I like to know the details before making a big decision like putting a hole in my body. I got my lip pierced& It doesn't hurt like at all. It feels like nothing even happens. They just pinch your lip with tongs and then stick a little needle in quick, then keep the needle in and push the piercing through. It all takes like 2 seconds, no joke. AFTER it happens it hurts on and off for about a week-month. Cleaning it is annoying too. BUT, it's totally worth it. :]] And if you clean it and everything...after a month it is completely healed and everything.
