 CrimeAs with most societies in earlier ages, Kima was expected to live her life as a contributing member of her culture. However, she had other intentions. As kitsune tend to be on the sly side of things, she did on occasion like to pull 'fast ones' on her friends. But none would be faster than the one she pulled on her would be suitor. In her society, marriages were arranged by the family, and the child to be married had no part in it. She did not want that for herself, yet the person that she was to marry (who was not something you would consider a catch by any definition of the word) was more than happy to take her, as she held exquisite beauty.
She, however, had fallen madly in love with not only another being, but it wasn't even a kitsune of another society. Her sordid affair with this human was short lived, as her parents and her future husband eventually found out. Infuriated, they plotted for weeks. When the time finally came for her to be wed, she came into the ceremonial hut in her village, to find her lover strapped to an executioner's table. His prompt dispatch left her unable to move out of terror. Guards behind her, in on the plan as well, grabbed her arms and dragged her to the altar newly stained with the blood of her first love. In mere moments, a corpse lay where there had once been a daughter, a lover, a future wife. Her parents did not bury her in the traditional sense, and her would be husband found a new bride. They did, however, pray to the gods to punish her for her misjudgement. Thus, she was banished to be reborn in a distant land and in another time...uprooted, never again to see her lover's face, nor feel his embrace. PunishmentKima's punishment only served to prove the cruel humor the gods had when they were asked to punish her for her wrongdoing. Sporadically, she has graphic nightmares of her newly beheaded lover raping her in the room she was murdered in. She feels all the pains and pleasures of the experience, and especially so if she were to be virginal at the time. At the end of her dream, her body reverts back to the stage of growth it was in at the time (meaning if she were a toddler before the dream, she would be an adult in the dream and then become a toddler again afterwards). This would also undo the effects of having her virginity taken from her, and the pains would subside, but not the mental scarrings.
