My band director LOVES weird reed instruments like the double reeds. For a double reed lover, he doesn't believe that the bassoons should NOT play in Jazz band. I really don't see the impossible...?

I've heard a jazz bassoon played before, and it sounded amazing! It added a completely new dimension of sound and tonality to an already amazing band. If used properly, the jazz bassoon is a great addition to a jazz band.

wow. that would be putting my two greatest musical loves together... I should bring that up with my music director and see what he says (He'll probably tell me that "no, you cannot play the Bassoon in Jazz band" but I still feel the need to bring it up...)
