There is a HUGE difference between the two, trust me. In high school, you only do do the basic maneuvers and only play moderate songs as you do it. In college, everything's difficulty is multiplied by about 10X of that in high school, including rehearsal times.

I've heard from some people who used to be in my band that they don't like it mainly because the marching isn't as complicated and they're not competitive. I'm only a sophomore, so I don't know if I'll do it in college or not...the main reason I love marching band is because of how competitive we are.

The colleges we went to with their marching band didn't know much and told us to "dumb down" how we play and march. We did a lot harder stuff then any college near us did. Still do really.

Well, the college I'm going to practices five hours a day and does far more advanced maneuvers than what we did at high school. But then again, I'm going to one of the "Big Ten" schools, so we HAVE to do that stuff. All a matter of opinion and standpoint, I suppose.

Then we prac 4 weekday for 3 hrs, then sat for 6hrs. Also some Sundays depending on competitions. Most of our staff were either involved in DCI or WGI. Guess that's why they wanted us very driven haha

We edit DCI music to fit our much smaller number of people, and we are dictators about marching style and visuals. Do not tell me that. As far as College is concerned, their music is (supposed to be) harder (yeah, right), but their marching makes me want to vomit. Sure, the rehearsal times are 5 hours instead of 3, but, what are you rehearsing? Flamingo marching? Whatever. DCI owns.
