forword: Ive moved to a new apartment. I was going to send all my stuff, but my boy got into a car accident and i didnt have a car at the time, so alot of this stuff hasnt been moved into the apartment yet. so its still at my parents house. (my temporary living space while i moved out of hellish-roomates-hell) i got a new car and now i can move things, but ive ran into this dillemma.
anyway. I still have alot of American Girl stuff from when i was little. and i dont mean the modern stuff, alot ive noticed on ebay is collectable Pleasent company stuff that my family and grandparents gifted me over the years. Needless to say, its gathering dust.
My interest in dolls for many years after that was null. untill a friend who lives in japan got me interested in bjd, then my interest was resparked in some way - that i appreciate the AG again...
however, its still gathering dust. i dont 'play' with them or admire them. i suppose i appreciate the novelty of them and the history of my happier childhood days attached to them. but they are gathering dust. part of me says; might as well sell them, because all they will do is gather dust here, in my new home. part of me says, it would end up gathering dust in a collectors room at this point. another part of me wants to keep it still. and another part yet wants to see a little girl truely take care of them and enjoy them. - i was always very, very careful with my things (obcessive compulsive) so everything i have i can say - played with gently, very little wear. but often...kids are destructive sweatdrop
so im not sure. thoughts, opinions, personal experience? on the plus side with what i would sell from it, i could buy more BJD stuff. but this sorta stuff isnt stuff that can be replaced anymore...whomever owns the AG line now has...cheapened it and changed ALOT.
