So basically, loving someone of the same sex is a sin? LOVE is a SIN?

Thats ******** up man.

And you really can't compare that to being an alcoholic, because your God expects gays to not have companionship and to just find someone of the opposite sex to overpopulate the world with.
I really don't like or understand that.
I just really don't understand, do you?
Thats just evil to me.

Your statement made me angry.

Maybe it's just because I'm hormonal, unlike usual, or maybe because I had a three hour discussion about this today with my possibly soon to be boy friend, who is very Christian, and has your point of view.

IDK.

but that made me angry, because you're practically refusing to argue because either you don't know what to say, of you feel that you're right, and I'm too stubborn, so theres no point in trying to continue.
Or I could be wrong.

But whatever. That still made me angry.

I need to not talk about this for a while, because seriously, like, you guys aren't going to change your opinion even though it is a prejudiced thought, which I believe to be a 'sin'.

Oh, I'm sorry! I thought maybe you wouldn't want to talk about it because it made you angry, so okay.

I also didn't bother with a response because that is your opinion, and nothing anyone says is going to change it, so I think most discussions, unless done with a very level head and open mind, are kind of wasted. ^^' They can only be done if one or both sides intends to slightly alter their opinion.

Anyways, love itself is not a sin. It also states in the Bible that "God is love." Sometimes it depends on what you love. A majority of Americans "love" objects rather than people. I remember watching a documentary where a woman declared, "I enjoy my diamond ring more than I enjoy my husband." As such, not all love is love. I am not denying for a moment that homosexuals love each other. I am merely going into that some may not, just as heterosexual couples engaje in a relationship for lust rather than love.

As far as true heterosexual love, I am not entirely sure. When I was in high school, I loved Kaitlin without a doubt. There was no lust, not only because I have shown an odd disintrest in sex throughout my life, but also because I really have and had no idea how two females would go about "doing it," and I don't care to know XDD! At the same time, she was the only friend I had that I really talked to about anything. All of my other friends had ditched me or kind of ignored my strenuous efforts to make them love me. Background information: I have poor history with friends. I don't have a problem loving them with all of my heart, but it's them loving me back that's the problem; then they kind of wander off and it sucks. Kaitlin was the first person to love me back, and, over time, I kind of convinced myself that I fell in love with her. My lie became true, and she convinced my that she loved me. What she most likely felt was closer to lust because you typically don't break the person you love's heart and date another person who betrays you anyway. Very often, when a teenager decides he or she is homosexual, it is a fling or a faze.
There are, of cource, times when it is real love between both partners. I won't say for a moment that even more than a few cases are like mine, but what did they have to do to get that far? It could have been a lie made true or other, not to say it could never be a truth. I know they really are some people that seem to be naturally homosexual. Again, all of life is a struggle. It is like alcoholism because a person can grow to "love" alcohol, though it is far different from real love, and are expected to restrain from it. As far as personal experience, when I stopped "looking for love in all the wrong places," it found me, as "God is love." God created man and woman together, and he created them equally. It's great to have really close friends of the same sex, but you're intended to have one of the opposite sex for greater companionship. As far as overpopulating, what ever happened to just plain adoption? If or when I get married, I intend to have no children of my own. Forget that crap XDD! I'll just adopt poor, foreign chillins. Anyways, if I had not somehow made my way toward God, I don't know what would have happened to me, but I would probably be different in the worst possible way.
I mentioned before that life is a struggle. We are expected to suffer, fight, and have our hearts broken. We are also expected to rise from the ashes like a phoenix to create the old into new progress in ourselves. Christianity isn't about bliss in this life. It is about work in this life, disposing of Earthly posessions, to embrace eternity in heaven. Some people fight more than others, but everybody hurts sometimes. Christians are supposed to witness and fight for the better of everyone, but, unfortunately, most aren't, like the foghorn guy. You cannot convince anyone of something by shouting it.

Anyways, I think that's pretty much all I have to say, and a lot of it is based off of my own experience. If you're not convinced, then don't be angry, of cource you're not convinced. Something someone reads or says doesn't usually change their opinion on a major issue.
If you were hoping for a great philosophical, intelligent, or sophisticated explanation, I can't help you, because I don't feel qualified in any way to defend even my own opinion XDD! I'm not a doctor or a professor or the smartest kid in the classroom. I'm just some chick a year or two older than you that has only been a real Christian for a couple years. Three years ago, I would have disagreed with everything I just said LOLOL!

LOLOL! OIC! That does make quite a lot of sense. My high school was full of gross-looking punks. If anyone had the potential to look relatively attractive, he was a jerk-wad, which eliminated any possibility of me seeing them as attractive in any way. I'm still convinced that Nathan Macnight is an antichrist of some sort XDD! Mostly because he claimed to be a "Christian." Oh, please, take him away, Jesus! Not another one of THOSE! Ex-dee-dee!

I do believe that part of this discrepency is because Follower, I pressume this, has faith in God and Christianity, and therefore takes the word if the Bible without question. CB, however does not believe in Christianity, and therefore constructs her own opinion, coming to what seems to her as a logical conclusion.

Honestly, I think there is a right answer and that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality morally. (There is, however, something wrong with it biologically...)

Follower

alcoholic gene

There is an alcohlic gene as much as there is a success gene or a psychopath gene or a good driver gene, meaning there isn't one. Nothing in genetics is that simple.

@only
haha! i'm kidding. a little. well, maybe i'm like that in my mind. >.>;;
who is nathan mac-whatevar?

i kinda agree with what you're saying, but at the same time the phrase "to each his own" envelops that. Like, here i am, this little asexual blob. im sure there's someone damning me for not "being fruitful and doing math" or whatever, but i don't care. let people do their own thing. cuz you only have one life and there are others who don't believe in an afterlife, so just let them be. people can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't interfere with the rights of others.
[[yeah im in government, STFU! the Constitution's got mah back on dis one!]]
also, who are we to judge other people?
so there's my take.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 18, 2010 1:31 pm

@Cappy
you can be genetically predisposed to bein' a wino.
jus' sayin. >.>;;

but its not 100% genes. it's also environment. if you're used to parents who just got plastered all the tiem, you are apt to do teh same thing.

Oh, I never said anyone had to do it that way. I was explaining Christian faith and what most Christians think they should do.
And, I didn't think I was judging. Was I? I am so sorry if I was.

Captain Dastardly
and therefore takes the word if the Bible without question.

False XDD!

That is impossible. If you take scripture without question and just agree to everything, it will seem to cntradict itself and you will wind up as a very confused person.
I study scripture, its topics, and its meanings. I make interpretations and examine contrasts. If I took everything at face-value, then I could find scripture that seems to support the death sentence while I find scripture that seems not to support it. Then what?

Sorry, you just made it sound as if I did not have a mind of my own ^^'
That probably is not what you meant, but I wanted to be clear that I am not mindless LOLOL!
