http://plannedparenthood.com/pp2/portal/getinvolved/youthactivism/The woman in that picture has on her stomach "Property of the U.S. Government?" and you know I was thinking: that's rather true.
Are we not at the mercy of our respectful governments?
"No. I can just leave if i'm unhappy."
And what if they bar off the borders?
"..."
Exactly.
As sad as it is you really are one with your law-creating body. That is, they control you. Our freedoms are what they allows us to do. You can call them God-given or government-given but either way they are alotted to us by the government. They can take them away. Is it cruel? Could be.
People like to imagine they are there own person and that it's "Their choice, their body," but it's a bit of a rude wakeup call to find out what you are allowed to do is by the grace of those who role over you. Think about it.
Drafting if mandatory correct? Correct. Paying taxes is mandatory correct? Yes. You have to commit to other federal services (jury duty, some countries have made voting mandatory). In England, as a minor, you are only allowed to work for so many hours a day, even if you willing to work till your death bed. In Denmark you have to pay for services that you may not need in the next twenty years or in your life time (they're socialist, so i've heard). Many countries also impose laws not even spoken. In China what law exists that you cannot have two girls? None. But it's a cultural disgrace, one the government has not stopped, so therefore, isn't that as good as saying you can't? It is.
Face it, we are at their mercy. Why even fight it? You can'y live in anarchy nor can we live in this is false idea of absolute freedom (I believe it was John Locke who wrote about that... something along those lines).
I think that whenever they flash what the definition of an abortion is we should gently remind them (if it comes up) that a government is "The act or process of governing, especially the
control and administration of public policy in a political unit."
