Well those are charts alright. Do you want to know how to learn the kana? You could use flashcard-type-methods (i.e.
http://www.realkana.com/ which is what I used), but I highly suggest that you sign up for www.smart.fm (it's free, no spam) and take their courses in
hiragana and
katakana.
As for kanji, I can't tell you where to go to study only kanji, because what I do is learn kanji with each new vocabulary word. I highly suggest that after you learn the kana you continue on to Core 2000: Step 1 on smart.fm. I've learned most of the kanji that I know from that site, without even trying.
Another useful thing for learning kanji--- you can download
kanji-lish, a firefox add-on. What it does is scans through the webpage that you're on and it replaces the first letter with a kanji that means that same word. This way you learn the kanji with no effort whatsoever (still have to learn how to pronounce them though.) I'll post the picture that goes with it as an example.
