Does anyone have any lag trying to use CS4? Just trying to move images large or small there's a lot of lag trying to do so. My brushes lag etc. I have enough RAM to support it so that shouldn't be an issue. and I have no idea what's causing it, anyone else have the problem as well? I still have CS3 but I still love CS4 for the 3D images I can make, it's just hard to do much with it with the lag.

I'm not sure what could be causing it but I have issues like that with CS2. I find that closing the program and/or restarting my computer fixes it. It might be because you have too many programs running at once perhaps. Is it an ongoing problem or does restarting and/or closing other programs resolve it?

Honestly it is something with the program I think I have no evidence to this though lol.

Here's the thing, i can run CS3 Just fine no problems no lag nothing except with documents 1500 pixels or larger. Everything runs smooth with CS3 all the time, it has never lagged on me literally.

But with CS4 ever since I got it started up it's been laggy, trying to drag pictures, brushes, 3D. Everything, I've switched to the vista basic theme to reduce the amount of ram being used, closed down unnecessary programs, Firefox, practically my entire task bar. Opened up CS4 by itself and same issues, trying to drag pictures, using brushes, 3D, everything lags. I reconfigured the graphics thing in preferences, did nothing, turned off the ability to use the GPU to help run CS4 in the preferences, and it did nothing but made it slightly worse, maxed out the amount of ram it was able to use, and that did nothing either.

I must say, this was the first program ever, I have gotten that gave me trouble when my system exceeded the requirements and recommendations. =/

Geez, that's a pain in the a** right there. I'm trying to rack my brain for anything else you can do to improve performance on that, but since I don't use CS4, nor do I have vista (which from all the horror stories I've heard about that, could be the root of your problem) I really don't know what to tell you.

I just googled it and from the looks of it, this is a common problem, mainly because it's a new program and whatnot. I don't think there is any resolution to this problem right now so the best I can tell you is to just use CS3 or earlier for now and eventually CS4 should be fixed.
