Name: Chetanzi (chet-ahn-zee)
RP Color: Yellow
Type: Risen/Angelic
Gender: Male
Generation: One
Current Stage: Teen
All Stages: Pup/Teen/Adult
Parents: N/A
Siblings: N/A
Mate: Dulcinea
Offspring: Abeni, Kagiso, Zesiro, Kehinde, and Akosua

Chetanzi is a very kind and loving Hyeetah, always the peacekeeper in his relationships with others. He doesn’t like confrontations and does his best to always be helpful and cheerful. He met Dulcinea and Demetri as pups and grew up with them, amused by their playful bickering and growing comfortable in his role as the mellower one out of the three, content and happy. Chetanzi started to recognize his feelings for Dulcinea as a young teen, and was, quite frankly, shocked and pleased when she chose him as a mate over Demetri (who Chetanzi looks up to as an older brother and a perfect Hyeetah, brave and unrelenting against struggles in a way that Chetanzi simply can’t be). Although not the most outgoing and tough Hyeetah out there, Chetanzi is extremely loyal and loves fiercely and truly. He adores his mate Dulcinea completely, is as best a friend to Demetri as possible, and is an extremely supportive and caring father to his pups, of whom he is an extremely proud and loving father.

Name: Varda (var-duh)
RP Color: Pink
Type: Eagle Familiar
Gender: Female
Current Stage: Teen
All Stages: Chick/Teen/Adult

Varda is Chetanzi’s familiar, more than just a best friend. The two were bonded when they were just a teeny little fluff ball of a chick and a fuzzy pup. Varda can be a little sarcastically critical in her relationship with Chetanzi, but she really means good and just wants to look out for him. She worries sometimes that he is too much the typical Risen Hyeetah, too trusting and kind to those who he should be more wary of. When the pups were born, Varda gladly took up her role as the nanny/babysitter of them, and is more than happy to keep them all under control when mom and dad need a break. She holds a little bit of a grudge against “uncle” Demetri, mostly because when she first met him he insinuated that she was a snack. However, she sometimes gets jealous when he provides for the pups in her stead, feeling as if he is usurping her position as the pups third caregiver.

Dulcinea is much more prickly than her mate, often getting into scraps with anyone and everyone around her. Despite that, it's quite obvious that she cares deeply for Chetanzi, and will often try and soften her arrogance when around him. She loves to hunt and play, and brings that attitude to the raising of her pups - she is the one who teaches them to pounce and stalk, and how to quietly await for ones prey until just the right moment. She is uncomfortable with displays of extreme emotion, so leaves that side of parenting to her mate. Let him deal with the crying and the booboo's and the nightmares, that's her philosophy. When it comes to Varda and Demetri, she has mixed feelings. The eagle she respects, but also secretly wants to chase. The other Hyeetah is a pain, but one she enjoys fighting with - he gives good sport.

User Image

Abeni, as the first born, feels a great deal of responsibility for her litter-mates. She tries very hard to take charge and keep them under control so Varda and Demetri don't have to help their parents so much, but as her temper gets the better of her so often she fails miserably as an authority figure. Beyond that, despite being the eldest, she's also the runt of the litter - so her dynamite personality is packed within a body almost too small to contain it, making her an almost comical sight when she rages.

User Image

The only Angelic of the bunch, Kagiso is full of a sense of superiority and false goodness. She very piously mimics her father's deeds, but can be quite venomous in the things she says while doing them. She will often tease her brothers and sisters about being 'fallen', and is quite sure that being 'risen' is much better. Even her mother is treated as an inferior being, while Uncle Demetri is regarded with pity that he has no wings at all. Varda is one creature that she regards with some modicum of wariness - the eagle has a tendency to take the mickey out of the young Hyeetah.

User Image

Zesiro is pretty laid back and sloth-like. On his own, Zes isn’t much of a troublemaker, but he goes along with his twin brother’s adventuresome ideas because he’s rather submissive and would follow his brother to the ends of the earth.

User Image

Kehinde, in contrast to his twin brother, is outgoing and a bit of a prankster, and can be rather arrogant and domineering. He practically idolizes his uncle Demetri and wants to be just like him when he grows up. Kehinde is the one who gets the twins into trouble a lot because he's got these rebellious and adventurous ideas, and drags his brother along with him.

DEMETRI
Demetri, Dulcinea, and Chetanzi well were the three amigos growing up, and still are. He sees Chet as a brother but was mad at him in their teen years because he also had a crush on Dulcinea, although once they were adults he was over that phase. He visits every few days, and always bring over some odd pieces of meat he caught. He still gets into arguments with Dulcinea, because he’s always been arrogant. He tries to act like an older brother to Chetanzi because he still wants to think that he is more of a leader. Chetanzi accepts his advice and support, however, because he’s kindhearted and understands Demetri’s personality.

Chetanzi meets Dulcinea & Demetri - pup stage

Satu Markula
Her prey was only inches away, and coming closer.

Dulcinea hunkered down further, tail lashing behind her, ears pressed flat against her skull. A rumbling growl wanted to escape, but she held it in, not wanting to alert the object of her attentions to her presence. After all... when hunting and stalking, one had to be quiet. She inched forward, a little closer... a little closer... and POUNCED!

The beetle had, however, been aware of her for quite some time, and had been watching and waiting for her to make any suspicious movements. As soon as she leapt forward, he took to the air, avoiding her attack and flying away. With an angry cry, she began to chase after it, through the Savannah grasses, jumping up into the air in her attempts to capture it.

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi, napping in the shade of a tree, lifted his head up and flicked an ear at the sound of something running through the grass nearby. The little pink-and-yellow cub was generally a rather unsuspicious type, but being out on the Savannah alone for the first time made him wary. Narrowing his eyes and pressing his ears back against his skull, Chetanzi began to stalk through the grass after the sound.

His quiet search was soon interrupted by the sight of another young cub leaping up out of the grass right ahead of him. Startled, Chetanzi let out a soft yelp and fell backwards. Clambering back to his feet and shaking himself to rid his fur of the savannah dust, Chetanzi raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?" he asked the other cub, stepping towards her with his tail swaying back and forth.

Satu Markula
Ambush! was all she could think as the other pup suddenly came into her line of vision, startling her rather badly. Retreat was necessary, so she scrambled behind a clump of grass, her curious nature keeping her from going any further. At the other pup's question, she blinked, then burst out. "Hunting, duh. What'd it look like I was doing?" She peeked out of her grass clump, and then sighed. "Awww... you made me let it get away!"

Suddenly, she had an idea, and her eyes lit up, ears perking forward. She jumped forward, landing right in front of the young male, tail whipping back and forth. "You have to find me another beetle." she informed him arrogantly. "One that looks just like that one. Then... we'll both hunt it. Whoever gets it wins."

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi blinked at the excited young pup and tilted his head. "You were hunting a beetle? How is that any fun?" Chetanzi flicked his tail and took another few steps toward the girl, searching the ground for the mysterious bug. "Why are you so determined to find that specific beetle?"

staplemylips
"She wants you to get one, because she can't find a new one herself!" A young pup joined the two. He came forward, sitting infront of them. His head high in the air, feeling rather confident. The back of his body was a chocolate color, and the rest resembled a blueberry. That sounded like a good little snack right now.

Demetri was a larger pup. He was the biggest one in his litter. Which only gave him more reason to be cocky. He was your average pup though, believing he was invincibly, that boys were better than girls, and of course that he could never do any wrong. Though the young one shouldn't have been this sure of himself. This was his first time away from his family.

Satu Markula
"I want that beetle because it was pretty." she told the yellow male, holding her tail erect before plopping her bottom down onto the ground, watching him search. "And because it was fun to hunt it. It gave good chase, as my papa says. He says that you should never hunt anything thats too easy to catch. That's why I like beetles." At the new voice, however, her good mood was stripped away, and she turned towards the owner, ears flat against her skull.

"Excuuuuse you?" she asked, eyes narrowed and flashing with anger. "I bet I could find the beetle faster than you could, you big ol' blue thing." she told him, massive amount of pride now wounded. "I bet you couldn't even find your tail, less your mama helped you!"

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi looked anxiously back and forth between the two argumentative pups and flicked his ears worriedly. "Hey guys, you don't need to fight about it," he said, trying to keep the peace. "It's just a beetle, I'm sure we can find another one. Why don't we all look together?" Chetanzi smiled nervously, his eyes roaming back and forth between the two pups. "I'm Chetanzi, by the way."

staplemylips
"You heard what I said!" Demetri told her. "Oh please, I bet you couldn't even find that beetle if it landed on you!" He fought back, his head lowered, but the pride still loud. Not many things would be able to dash his proudfull demeanor. Demetri barred his teeth a little, this was becoming fun.

Demetri turned to the other male, who was trying to keep a fight from happening. "I guess we could..." Demetri muttered. "You can call me Demetri by the way."

Satu Markula
Chetanzi reminded the female pup of her papa, when her mama and her aunts got together and bickered, and he tried to keep them from wrecking the cave. "Hmph." she snorted, putting her nose and tail up into the air, watching Demetri from the corner of her eye for another moment. Oh how she longed to pounce on him...

She reigned the urge in, and instead sat back on the ground, pawing at a nearby rock. "I'm Dulcinea." she grumbled, clearly unhappy that the fight had been cut short. "An' yeah. We can all look for the stupid beetle together, as long as big blue stops being an idiot."

Hybridic Harper
"I'm sure Demetri will be fine," Chetanzi replied hopefully, casting pleading eyes at the other male pup. "And it's good to meet you both. Now." The yellow-and-pink pup crouched down on his front paws and grinned playfully. "Do you two wanna stay here and bicker all day or shall we get hunting?" His tail swayed back and forth in the air above him excitedly. "I know a great place, if you still want to find some beetles."

staplemylips
Demetri sent a glare at Ducinea. Big blue, psht! What kind of nickname was that? "Lead the way if you know where you're going." Demetri told his fellow male pup, having slight doubt in the fellow. He just didn't seem like a leader, where Demetri was born to be a leader. "Oh, and try to keep up." He told Ducinea, assuming they would be running to the place.

Satu Markula
"You'll eat my dust." The female pup spat, kicking up a cloud of it at the - she thought - rather annoying blue male. "You're too big and fat to be able to run faster than me." Besides... her papa had been teaching her tricks in preparation of getting her wings - she'd need to know how to run in order to take off properly. She'd no doubt she could outrun either boy, no matter how tough some of them thought they were. She let out a growl at Demetri, then tipped her head to Chetanzi. "We'll follow you. Go on."

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi, doing his best to ignore the tension between the other two cubs, turned away from them and crouched down on his haunches, getting ready to go. "Making it a race, are we?" he called back to them, grinning. "You don't know what you're getting yourselves into, I'm pretty fast. Pay attention to where you're walking, though, the path's not easy." The angelic pup rolled his shoulderblades, feeling the instinctual itch to fly where his wings would sprout when he was older. "If you two are done bickering..."

staplemylips
Demetri took off. At the moment he tried to make sure he was right behind Chatanzi. Truth be told, Demetri wasn't the fastest pup. He knew he had great strength though. So if it came down to it, he could argue that. Demetri's tail was kept at a perfect angle, making him look like a speeding bullet. At least in his mind it did.

Satu Markula
Dulcinea let out a whoop, then began to run after the two males. She positioned her body the way her papa had taught her, hunkering her head down, ears flat against her head. She easily overtook Demetri, and soon was trotting at Chetanzi's side, smirking to herself. Keep up indeed. Hmph. Stupid big blue.

staplemylips
Demetri halted in a moment. He could hear someone calling for him, mother. Great, he was going to seem like a momma's boy. "Well...I guess I'm out of here." Demetri pawed at the ground. "I'll meet you guys back here in a couple of days." Demetri said, making a date more than asking if they would want to meet up again. Demetri gave a smirk to his friends before running off when he was called once more.

Chetanzi & Varda run into Dulcinea & Demetri - teen stage

staplemylips
Demetri came back into the grasses. He snickered as he spotted a beetle. It had been awhile since he had seen his friends, Chetanzi and Dulcinea. For sure when he ran into them this time, they would all be in shock. Last time he struggled to keep up with them. He had grown very much. Now in his teen stages. His legs were extremely long now. He was suppose to become the burly one in his litter, instead he turned into the tallest. He was big in height, but surely did not own the broadest shoulders.

Demetri found a rock in the sun. He planned on laying on it till something interesting passed him. Hopefully another animal would come along. Demetri rested his head in his new larger paws. His tail swished back and forth a bit, till he began to slowly fall asleep.

Satu Markula
Suddenly, a shadow fell over the sun he lazed in, then seemed to zero in on him and hover. "Big Blue!" Came a voice from above, sounding rather amused. "What are you doing down there? Sleeping away the day? How boring!" The female giggled, then slowly came down to the ground from her place in the sky, landing near Demetri's rock with a thump. Her past few days had been spent learning how to use her wings, which were finally big enough to support her weight for small distances. Impressed with herself, she'd come to the grasses to show off to her friends, and see how they were doing.

staplemylips
Demetri grumbled as he heard his favorite nickname. "Its you, again? You just can't stay," Demetri opened his eyes, seeing her fluttering the air. "away from me...." He spoke the last bit softly. I'm not going to be able to out run her for sure now. Oh well, there is still Chez. Demetri said as he stretched his back out. A little jealous he didn't have wings. Oh well, he wouldn't waste his times on tihngs he had. He was still rather full of himself.

He watched as she landed near him. Demetri tucked his head, attempting to stretch once more. "I was waiting for something interesting to come around. I guess you'll have to do till that happens." Demetri told her with a smug look. He jumped down from the rock.

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi was soaring, flapping his wings as hard as possible and angling his long, lean body up into the sky, trying to find the point where he couldn't fly any higher. The pink and yellow hyeetah had been testing the limits of his newly sprouted appendages for the past few days and was now familiar with the almost frantic elation that came with flying, as evidenced by his racing heartbeat and a huge smile that spread across his face as his large feathered wings pushed him ever higher.

The teen's flight was interrupted, however, by the sound of an eagle's loud screech echoing across the sky. With marked dexterity, a medium sized pinkish bird swooped up and circled Chetanzi, who slowed his ascent and grinned at the eagle.

"What's going on, Varda?"
the winged teen asked, his wings still flapping hard enough to keep him aloft. "Did you find something interesting?"

The little pink eaglet, out of breath from the sharp climb through the air, took a moment to collect herself. "Remember those cubs you were talking about meeting a while back, Zi?" she gasped out, still catching her breath. "I think I saw a couple of kids when I was flying over the savannah, but they're a bit bigger than your description. You wanna go check it out?"

Chetanzi's eyes lit up. "You mean Dulcinea and Demitri? I've gotta go find them!" the angelic teen exclaimed, before tilting one wing towards the ground and swooping in a circle downwards, leaving his feathered friend to straggle along behind him. Seeing the long distance toward the ground and impatiently calculating the time it would take him to fly all the way down to his friends, Chetanzi smirked and snapped his wings shut, letting himself free fall towards the grass of the savannah at an ever-increasing speed. His heart rushed into his stomach and he laughed joyously at the feeling, catching himself just in time to see the brown and blue dots of his friends on the ground below him and snapping his wings open, his impressively large wingspan bringing him safely to a landing. "Dulcinea, Demitri!" he shouted out excitedly as he soared towards them, his wings still outstretched as his long legged paws began to run along the ground towards his friends. "Is that you?"

staplemylips
"Ah! You too?" Demetri asked as he looked at Chetanzi. He hung his head low shaking it side to side. Now he felt a little left out for not having giant wings. "Yea, no more racing." Demetri stated. Demetri then noticed Chetanzi's new friend, some bird. "So you brought us a snack?" Demetri joked as he bared his teeth.

Satu Markula
She blinked as Chetanzi joined them, noticing that he had wings as well... but not like hers and her papa's. Privately, she rather thought hers were much nicer. His were too... feathery. Satisfied that she still had the better end of the deal, and feeling rather playful, Dulcinea ran to the other winged teen and pounced on him, intent on starting a scuffle, tail whipping from side to side as she pointedly ignored Big Blue. She'd do until then indeed!

She growled playfully as she pawed at Chetenzi, ignoring the bird - it looked like the other Hyeetah, so she figured it was more a friend than a 'snack'. There were stories, after all, that she'd heard about some of her kind bonding with lesser animals.

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi slowed down his pace and folded his wings against his back, trotting to a stop in front of the other male teen. "Me too wha--" the yellow and pink hyeetah began to ask his friend before being pounced upon by something brown and furry. "Oof!" he exclaimed, rolling over underneath Dulcinea and pawing playfully at her. "Ahaha, I see," Chetanzi laughed, noticing his friends new wings. "You can fly too, then?"

Hearing Demetri's comment, Chetanzi looked up from underneath Dulcinea and blinked at his blueish friend. "A snack?" he asked, raising an eyebrow confusedly and looking around to see his pink feathered friend gliding down exhaustedly from the sky above them. He scrambled out frantically from underneath his winged friend and leapt into the air, flapping his wings until he reached Varda, who slumped tiredly on Chetanzi's shoulder blade as he sank back onto the ground. The pink feathered eaglet glared at Chetanzi through narrowed eyes. Could you possibly be any more difficult to keep up with? she squawked, ruffling her feathers unhappily. Are these your friends?

staplemylips
Demetri narrowed his eyes a bit as Dulcinea pounced on Chetanzi. Demetri surely did not like to be left out. He was actually slightly jealous. What, just because he didn't have wings, they didn't think he could fight? Psht, Demetri had no doubt in his mind he could beat both of them if power came to it. Wings didn't affect power at all. Demetri watched as Chetanzi and the snack got together. The bird reacted rather oddly Demetri thought. Demetri looked up to the sky as the sun continued its journey closer to the Earth's edge. It wasn't long ago he was getting called in around this time.

Satu Markula
As Chetanzi went to fetch the bird, Dulcinea went to sit next to the other male, plopping down at his side. "I think the bird is his. Not a snack. So no eating." she teased, lightly buffeting him with the wing closest to him. "I wish I had a bird like that... it would be fun to have someone to fly with besides papa... and if you had one, you could have someone flying over you to give you the lay of the land..." she sighed and looked to Demitri, grinning at him. "How ya been, Big Blue? Been ages since I last saw you and Chet."

Hybridic Harper
"Sorry, Varda," Chetanzi replied, folding his wings against his back and padding back over to his friends. "I just get so excited when I'm flying." The pink eaglet just rolled her eyes and settled herself in more comfortably in the fur on Chetanzi's back.

Rolling his eyes at the stubborn eagle, Chetanzi took a seat with his two friends. "This is Varda," he said, tilting his head towards the pink ball of feathers on his back. "Varda, these are my friends Demetri and Dulcinea." The angelic pup smiled over at his two friends and wrapped his tail around himself. "I haven't seen either of you in forever...I guess we all got a little bigger, huh? Demetri!" He exclaimed, looking up at his blue friend. "You're so tall!"

staplemylips
Demetri rolled his eyes. "I knew that, I was joking." He pointed out dumbly. Not sure if she was aware of that or not. Demetri scratched at the ground as he listened to Dulcinea go on and on. Oh how girls could talk forever. Oh, and how they always wanted everything. There was no need for a bird really. "Chet can fly with you..." Demetri pointed out, a little disappointed that he could fly with them. Demetri was absorbed by his rock for several moments before answering Dulcinea. "Not much. Just taking things day by day. Trying to keep myself from dying of boredom and trying not to kill my siblings." Demetri answered honestly. He loved his siblings, but found them deathly annoying at times.
Demetri nodded to the bird as it was introduced. "I got tall, but you got the wings. I think you may have won." Demetri said. He would be hanging onto the topic of wings for awhile. It just wasn't fair. That was life though.

Satu Markula
"Hello Varda." she greeted the bird, tipping her head to one side and sniffing the air, learning her scent so she'd know it from now on. Then she looked between the two boys and rolled her eyes, stretching out her wings before pulling them tight to her back. "No one won, stupid Blue. We're all just... different. You're big and tough, Big Blue, and Chet's got wings, and I'm just more amazing than either of you. It's just how it is." She nodded, then brought her paw to her mouth, delicately licking it, then using it to clean one ear. "No reason to get all jealous or upset."

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi chuckled good-naturedly at Ducinea's statement. "And so modest, too," he added playfully, swatting at her with his tail and turning to Demetri. "You've got siblings? You're lucky. I'm an only child...it gets pretty lonely with no one to play with."

Varda, pleased to be greeted by the female, popped her head back up from underneath her wing and cried out softly in acknowledgment of Dulcinea's hello. At least someone around here's got manners, she remarked dryly, with a cold look to the pup who had referred to her as a snack. I like this girl, Zi, Varda said, using her special nickname for the yellow and pink teen. Smart, strong, and not afraid to speak her mind. She'd make a good mate, if you play your cards right.

At this audacious remark Chetanzi blushed, glad that he was the only one of the three teens who could understand what Varda was saying. He cast a nervous, sidelong glance at Dulcinea. She had definitely grown into a beautiful young Hyeetah, but he didn't know if he was ready to even think about that kind of thing. He ruffled the feathers on his back, rearranging his wings nervously, as if to shake off the idea.

staplemylips
Demetri rolled his eyes. "Oh yes, you surely are the greatest, most humble, thing ever." Demetri agreed with Chet. "I wasn't jealous." Demetri said, letting a growl seek his through his teeth. It was a lie, but he didn't want to admit he was actually jealous. Demetri noticed a glare he was recieving from the bird. Demetri looked away, he wasn't going to start a fight here. Demetri began to walk towards a near by source of water. He figured the others would follow. Demetri walked with an edge, he loved feeling his shoulder blades come up high. He thought he looked more dangerous.

Satu Markula
Big Blue was sooo silly, she decided with a firm nod. Noticing Chet's sudden nervousness, she moved to stand beside him a moment before following the other male, gently shoving him with her wing. "Come on. We won't bite." she teased, then laughingly licked his cheek before galloping off after Demetri, calling for him to 'wait up'.

Once she'd drawn near to him and realized where he was headed, she began to voice her doubts, though. "Papa... doesn't really want me going near watering holes without him." she told the other teen. "He says too many things that are bigger than me gather there to get a drink. Even he could get his ribs bashed in by an angry zebra if he wasn't careful, and he's the smartest, bravest, toughest Hyeetah ever." she told the other, a great deal of hero worship in her voice as she talked of her father. "So maybe we should find somewhere else to go, huh?"

Hybridic Harper
Chetanzi froze in his tracks for a moment after Dulcinea's tongue brushed against his cheek, feeling a hot blush spread across his face and grateful that the other two Hyeetahs were already ahead of him and couldn't see his reaction. Varda, still perched on his back, let out a self-satisfied squawk.

Told you so,
she cried, before being pushed into the air by Chetanzi's wing as he flicked it at her and began to run after his friends, putting the incident out of his mind for the time being. Varda rolled her eyes and soared up into the air above the three teens, keeping a lookout for anything dangerous.

By the time Chetanzi had caught up with his two companions, Dulcinea was voicing her concerns about their destination. He ran up beside Demetri and saw where they were headed, and then looked across to Dulcinea. "Don't worry," he said, smiling at her kindly. "The sun is setting, so most of the animals will have already headed away for the night. And Varda's keeping watch, so we'll have fair warning if something dangerous comes along. Besides," the angelic teen said, grinning over at Demetri. "I bet 'Big Blue' here can fight off anything that comes our way." Coming from anyone else this statement might have sounded sarcastic, but Chetanzi meant it sincerely. The angelic teen had no illusions about his own strength -- he may have been fast, but he was lightweight and built for flying, not fighting, and was genuinely impressed by Demetri's strength.

staplemylips
Demetri smiled brightly, he did a little prance closer to the water. "I could take down any beast, couldn't I?" He responded to Chet's generous compliment. Demetri rolled his eyes and strolled up to some small cats, lion cubs to be exact. "Oh please, I doubt this guys are dangerous at all." Demetri said as he batted one of the cubs with his paws. "Oh you're just so cute!" Demetri said as he became absorbed by the cub. Demetri made some faces and attempted to play peek a boo with the poor thing.

Satu Markula
"Awww... they are pretty cute!" Dulcinea agreed, tail flicking from side to side as she approached another of the cubs, giggling softly. "They look kinda like the cubs that my aunt has right now... or like we were a little while ago!" Hunkering down on her belly, she stared at the cub she'd chosen, then turned and began to tease it with her tail, encouraging him to play with it.

staplemylips
A loud roar echoed near Demetri's ear. He looked over and about 100 yards away was a large lion. "Oh!" Demetri began to slowly back up. "I think we should get out of here guys..." Demetri warned his friends. He would let them take off first, making sure they would get free first. While Demetri was arrogant and rather selfish, he always believed that his friends and family should come first. He was strong enough to fight anyone off.

Hybridic Harper
Just as the loud roar echoed around the three cubs, a returning cry came down from the sky as Varda dove towards her bonded and his friends. Lions, Chetanzi? Honestly, LIONS? Lions are bigger and stronger than you and they don't like it when you mess with their cubs...just get out of here!

Chetanzi looked up to Varda, beginning to panic a little at her words, and nudged Dulcinea with a wing. "Demetri's right...we should get out of here. Come on," he said, turning away from the watering hole and spreading his wings in preparation to take off.

Satu Markula
"Yes... we all should get out of here." she agreed, looking hard at Demetri. The idiot was stupid enough to try and stay to give them a chance to escape, and she knew it. "Would you go? We can fly, it can't. We can get away better than you can. Run, stupid blue!" she told him, bracing herself, wings open and ready to flap - but she wasn't leaving until she saw that Demetri was doing the same.

If Demetri would have had the time to sit there and argue with her, he would have. As Demetri sent a glare towards Dulcinea a lioness made a threatening jump towards him. Demetri turned around and took off quickly. Very quickly. He kept one eye head, while the other on his friends. Of course, he just had to touch the cute little cubs. If he got out of this, he would... Demetri let out a quit rough growl. He had no goals! When he was away from this lion, he would come up with some goals on life!

Chetanzi & Dulcinea - Under the Sahara Sun - adult stage

Satu Markula
Dulcinea slipped silently through the shrubs of the Sahara, moving like a shadow, keeping her wings tucked firmly to her back so they wouldn't rustle the grasses around her and give away her position. She was stalking prey again, as she had been so many suns ago when she first met her companions, but this time, it was much bigger than a mere beetle. The gazelle didn't yet know what was wrong, but it knew something was amiss, and thus was nervous, prancing about as it drank from the water hole, and she made her silent approach.

Chetanzi was stretched out on the large branch of an Acacia tree, napping quietly in the shade by the watering hole and occasionally opening his eyes for a moment or two to scan the savannah around him. From his perch in the tree, he could see down into the tall grass that encircled the watering hole, allowing him to tell before any of the other animals nearby whether something was approaching. The watering hole wasn't very busy this evening - just a few gazelles and a giraffe or two drinking hastily before the sun set and darkness fell across the plains.

All was quiet and calm, until one of the gazelles let out a nervous whinny, sensing something amiss. Flicking open his eyes again, Chetanzi raised an eyebrow at the anxious creature and ruffled his wings, looking around for the disturbance. It's probably nothing, he thought to himself, familiar with the skittishness of gazelles and expecting to see no more than a few stray meerkats scampering through the grass and causing the creature's distress. Looking down into the tall grass below his tree, however, Chetanzi caught sight of something that put a glint of excitement in his eye. A familiar pair of brown-gray wings atop a beautiful deep chocolate colored body crept beneath him, silent, moving so gracefully that barely a single blade of grass moved. A flutter went through Chetanzi at the sight, seeing how much his friend had grown, how beautiful she had become -- she was a stunning lady now, such a change from the adorable young pup she had been when they had met for the first time, playfully chasing after beetles.

Chetanzi grinned and ruffled his wings again, looking down at his old friend. "We've got to stop meeting this way," he chuckled, loud enough for her to hear. "You make me look lazy." The smile on his face as he gazed down at his friend shone with happiness.

At the sound of a voice, Dulcinea started, and it was enough to alert the nervous gazelle to her presence. It ran off with it's companion, bawling all the while, leaving her with nothing to hunt. She whirled around, then looked up, giving a snarl. She was furious. Who dared lose her a meal- oh. It was him. The growl that was building in the back of her throat melted away, and the menacing curl of her lip went away. She took a moment to study her old friend, who had, she thought privately, grown into a rather dashing Hyeetah.

"Again, you lost me what I was trying to hunt." she told him softly, arching a brow. "Will you be able to find me another this time?" Then she chuckled and shook her head, sitting back on her haunches and tipping her head to the side. Normally, she would have joined him in the tree, or at least flown up to tackle him out of it, but... seeing him all grown up had put a bit of a flutter in her stomach. She'd rather stay out of reach. "How have you been?"
