Sallena sat up slowly looking the male over with questioning eyes, "And I've never seen you, but I'm guessing you've been here more often then I have." she said finally. She licked one paw and swiped it over her ear before continuing. "I'm Sallena, and you are?"

'Or you could just come at different times than I do. Or you could actually come more than me, and I could just not come around anymore....' Demetri thought contradicting the female. Oh it was an awefull habit. He knew he should probably be nicer to this hyeetah than he was too Dulcinea. Dulcinea was one to argue with, she acted like one of the boys. This one didn't exactly act like Dulcinea at all. Demetri tipped his head lightly. "Name's Demetri. I'm surprised you haven't heard of me." Demetri said, talking himself up. He couldn't help it, he wanted to impress everyone.

"I'm not one to follow up on the latest gossip about the local legends." Sallena said a very amused smile on her face. Her tail gently swished back and forth across the ground, like a white and gray snake.

Demetri smiled. He was more than thrilled to be flattered like this. "Oh, thats alright. I didn't hear of your great beauty. So, its all fair." Demetri swatted at a large bug on the ground. He found them pesty now, compared to the days where he would chase them. "So, why are you out alone? It's not that safe around this time of year." Demetri pointed out. There were a good amount of species mating and have offsprings. Many mothers had bitter tempers.

Sallena laughed quietly. "Yes I suppose that makes it fair." she said holding back a blush. "I'm out alone because my family and friends are dead. Why are you out here all alone?" she asked. The casual way she mentioned the fact that her family was dead suggusted that the wound had healed a while ago and it wouldn't upset her to talk about it.

Demetri felt uncomfortable after her simple statement. He shifted his weight uneasily. How could someone say that so easily? Did she have no soul? Demetri had always been rather lucky. He had yet to expierence any deep lost, besides his parents now. Though there was no tragedy here. Demetri tilted his head as he thought of how to answer the question. There really wasn't any straight answer. "I'm out here...just to be out here. I don't need anyone." He stated, regaining his usual attitude.

"Makes sense." Sallena said, her voice slightly quieter then it was before. It did hurt to think about her parents, but she couldn't let anyone else know that. She was used to taking care of herself.

Demetri began to walk towards the watering hole. Not to hunt, just to go play in the water most likely. He was rather odd like that. "So, tell me more about yourself. Preferably happier stuff." He commanded of her. He passed through some random species, everything was calm at the moment. Oddly calm.
(God, that was short.)

"Well I enjoy sunsets and long walks on the beach." Sallena said in a teasing tone, she stood up and walked next to him towards the water hole, "I'm an only child, prefer antelope to gazelle, and........" she stopped talking, she had run out of things to say. What was the and for, "and even though we just met I think your amazing?" Yeah your smart. She mentally chided herself.
