This yr we are getting a new bd. Tomorrow we Finally get to meet him up at school at 6ish. I can't wait to meet him. It been killing us to have to wait so long to meet this guy. Cuz us bandie and guardie have really high standards for bd all of our school career we have had amazing bd that has us do shows way higher then our grade level. Like out 8th grade yr our band was playing 11th grade music. ^.^
IT anyone else getting a new bd this yr and if so have you meet them and like them and have them meet your band startards?

Yeah we are getting a new bd and a new assistant bd this year... i'm not too excited... i've had my bd for 5 years and i have 2 years left at that highschool.... i get to meet them when i go to leadership training at the end of july... hopefully they both know how to write awesome shows... cause the last two years shows have been amazing! mrgreen

lol i think it more that we want mb to start all ready. By now we normal have had cg tryouts and all that jazz but since the bd we have to wait cuz we don't know what we are doing at all this yr. Previous yr they give the music out on the last day of school so it can be pretty good by the time band camp rolls around. We aren't going to have but maybe 2 or3 seniors. Our band is mostly sophomores this yr.

We got a new assistant BD last year. I freaked him out the first day: I think I called out BD something (jokingly of couse) then she called me something else and threatened to slap me. It was quite funny, seeing that the assistant BD just came out of university and was always told to teach the students with respect and never threten them.
To this day he still thinks I'm evil. But the evil laughing on the band bus, when I was sitting behind him, might have something to do with it.
He gave me 99% on my band exam a few weeks ago, even though I was horrable. So it all worked out in the end.

that kewl.
I meet our new bd today he is fresh out of collage.
I think he freaked him out. It was funny.
we havent even started band camp and have scared him it funny.

I have to say our new BD is better than last years even though he is crazy. Last years BD had the BR (band room) 7 different colors. It looked like someone just went and splattered paint on the walls. Also the old BD didn't teach us anything. She would sit in her office and make the senior precussionist teach us. (she would sit in there and eat. I swear she was 500 lb.)It was pretty sad.

I transferred colleges this year, so I sort of have a new bd. Next year will be my school's first year with a marching band. It should be interesting. Our new director seems pretty good, but he can be a little...egotistical, almost. He doesn't like to listen to other people's opinions about marching band or about his wind ensemble, including the other professors. I hope he does ok, though. This marching band is going to need a lot of help.
