It was yet another one of those gorgeous summer days and Syrelia wasn't going to let it go to waste. The boys were getting older and had shot up like weeds, something that the witch had attributed to whatever magics had given them their powers, only one of which she evidenced in the boys. (Gavin's was still a mystery, but it wasn't hard to spot Noah's, the baby causing objects -- including himself and his brother -- to float about at random.)
Sitting in the sand, a baby harness around each of her boys, Syrelia was helping them to make a sand castle. They were both still getting a hold of their motor functions and Gavin was having a grand old time knocking down any sort of tower that Syrelia whipped up with magic in the sand. Noah, in the meantime, had seemed to abandon castle making in favor of trying to be a bird, floating at the end of his tether while his mother kept a good grip on it, her end of the harness looped tightly around her wrist.

Noel held Ălome tightly as they walked through the park. His own wings were hidden for now, but Ălome seem to like having them out, glittering in the sunlight. She fluttered from one side to the other after Noel put her down. Soon enough, Noel saw a woman sitting in the sand with two more children.. He approached her, smiling. "Seems like your little one wants to float away!"

Thali was having trouble keeping her grip on her twins. Being elves, they were already as active and talkative as toddlers normally were. So off and on, either Sammi or Reiya would squirm.
She caught sight of a familar face (Syrelia) and smiled. "They've grown," She commented, as she set her girls into the sand box. "How are you, Syrelia?"
"Icky." Sammi was pointing to Gavin, proving that she remembered their first meeting. "Hi Icky!" Then she set eyes on Alome. She'd never seen anyone like her before. "Birdie." She decided, with a wise nod (the wisest any infant can give). Reiya busied herself with helping Gavin with the sand castle.

"He's under the impression that he's an astronaut," Syrelia replied dryly, but not without humour. Her son's power had provided a rather trying time the past few weeks as it continued to manifest. Things were flying off shelves, a couple of family heirlooms had been broken until the witch could magick the rest into place, and she was in constant worry that both of her infant children would be making an air trip to the ocean near the main part of their home. Oh gods, when Noah was old enough to get the hang of it, she would be grateful.
Syrelia smiled up at Noel and held out a hand, "I'm Syrelia. These two are Gavin and Noah." She pointed to each respectively, watching as Noah made a swoop down to paddle around little Ălome's head. Her delicate looking wings had caught the baby's attention and he made grabby hands at them, uttering an, "Oooooooooooh!~"
"Hey Thali! Miss Sami, Miss Reiya!" Syrelia called at the same time that Gavin let out an almighty, "FWAHAHA!" toppling over another of the magicked sand towers. He was pretty good at destroying things. Maybe that was his power. The witch silently prayed it wasn't.
Once Sammi was in his line of sight, he threw up sand into the air with pudgy hands with a happy giggle and began to blow spit bubbles at her. That was pretty much his way to say hello to that particular infant.

Ălome giggled as Noah flew around her and flew alittle higher than he did. Flying was something she did on a daily basis, without constant supervison, so she was really good at it, and had rather good control over it. She patted Noah's head. "No no no." She squeaked, as in response of him making grabby hands to her wings.
"Well it's nice to meet you all. They all seem like adorable little children."

Thali watched Noah with amusement. "At least he doesn't juggle fire." She muttered in her friend's direction. "Sammi's under the impression that if Ben, my husband--I don't think you've met him, makes her upset, she can burn his hair." She gave a half smirk at the memory, clearly that had amused her.
"Then, when he asked for water--he was surprised that rain came pouring down on him." She smiled, and turn to look to the other woman, for that was what she Noel was. Being an elf--she wasn't exactly used to... Well, yeah. "It's nice to meet you too." She said with a smile. "I'm Thali, and these are my daughters Reiya, and Sammi." She gestured to each infant in turn.
Sammi blew a raspberry in response to Gavin's spit bubbles. "Hi Icky." She repeated. She took a fistful of sand, and offered it to him.
Reiya crawled over to Syrelia in interest. "Hi, Sy." She said, reaching for the witch. "'Ug?" She asked.

"'Ant, 'ant!" Noah cried cheerfully, going as far as his tether would allow, jerking his mother's arm in the process, and still reaching the other infant.
"Aren't you afraid that she's going to fly away? And hey, sweetie," Syrelia looked up at Noel's daughter in wonder while at same time picking Reiya up for a hug. The witch was constantly terrified that her own son would just simply... float away if she weren't careful enough, hence the harnesses.
Sy cracked at a grin and barked a laugh at Thali's story. That poor man, tormented by wee ones. "Okay, I am grateful that neither of them have fire powers, that's true. Gavin -- I dunno about him yet. Does really happy count as a power?"
The aforementioned baby took the offered sand and threw it up over his head, it sprinkling into Gavin's hair as he let out a shrill squeak of happiness. "Pointy!"

"She won't fly away.. It's like a magnetic force around her right now, summoned by my own husband. She can't get any higher than six feet, and no farther from me then five, unless I will it." Noel seemed confident in his husband's abilities.
Ălome fluttered down right next to Noah, petting his hair. "No no no." She smiled, continuing to pet the boy. "No no no."
"I'm not quite sure what little Ălome's power is.. "

Syrelia grinned -- if she ever got a chance to meet Noel's husband, she'd have to ask him how he was able to conjure the field. It didn't matter how old she got, she was still willing to pick up on new tricks.
"Hopefully it won't be anything like fire," the witch laughed. So this man and his daughter were another one, eh? That had made two parents so far that had been touched by whatever powers the Azoulai twins held. Freaky.
Noah pouted. He wibbled. And then he burst into tears.

"I don't think happiness is a power." Thali said, with a shake of the head. "Reiya and Sammi both have natural abilities as well--such as their speech. It's an elven strength--and it probably helps to have two writers in the house." She paused. "Ben wasn't very amused when they started repeating everything he said." She leaned closer to her friend. "Mostly because he was cursing in Elvish--but I swear, he didn't get that from me." Of course he hadn't. Well, in reality, he had. They were the only words in elvish he knew, and he had picked them up from his wife.
Reiya put her arms around Syrelia as well as she could. "Luv ooo, Sy." She said, leaning against her new adult friend. It was clear that she had no desire to be put back on the ground. She would rather watch.
Sammi was delighted at Gavin's magic trick--the sand sparkled on his head. She giggled, and handed him another handful. "Dere." She said, with a smile.

Ălome fluttered over to Noah, hugging him, cooing softly. Noel simply giggled at this. It was overly adorable how Ălome was acting to the crying boy. Even when he was upset, whenever he heard Ălome's voice, he calmed down. Good for when he was sad, but bad when he was actually trying to stay upset.
"I suppose.. Well... If I had to guess.. Ălome's voice would be the source of her power.. But... I honestly don't know. For all that I do know, she could be something completely different. It doesn't matter really. After all, she is my daughter and I love her to death!"
