Don't download anything from a URL you get in ingame mail. It may be posed as an officer, or officer alt, but it's just a name with a special character in it. Everyone in my guild got this type of mail today, and many lols were had considering it was sent from an "officer alt" that hadn't been on in 3 months.

Just a heads up. mrgreen

To think that life is always the same...
Yeah, we got hit with this twice. They pick an officer name with an I in it...accent the letter and send in an email. Always be sure of anything that happens in guild, be it a guild video or some event.
And never download .exe files unless you know absolutely what the hell it is!

btw: kickass avatar

...is the same as forgetting destiny always changes.

Yeah, my guild has been struck with that about three for four times. Luckily they're not that bright though, since they used my name and mailed me.
They also used my moms screen name. Quite silly.

It happened to my guild quite a few times. But since we all know eachother for 4 years +
The "language" the impersonator used doesn't even look like the language our officers would use. So it was pretty epic fail. And our officers would have communicated on the fourm about guild video.

Yea this happened about a month or so ago with our Raid Leader. It was odd cause it was sent to other officers and like random guildies. And this officer avoids the forums/ingame mail like it's the plague.

Freaked me out, I thought his acct got hacked, since he's canadian and can't get an authenticator easily.

But it was just the funny I.

Happened to my guild once. Odd thing is that thethe name the person used to sent those notes was 'initiate' rank and sent them all to member and officer rank. xP

Had this happen in an old guild, except they did it through the guild site's PM system. So be careful about that as well.

The other day, somebody hacked into the account belonging to one of the officers in my guild and all but cleared out the guild bank before anybody noticed (it was late, late at night so only 3 or 4 people were on). Thankfully, the GM came on and quickly demoted all of the officer's toons down to "probie" status. While that was happening, the hacker was still logging between all of the officer's toons.

What really sucked was that the next day, we found out that the hacker didn't even change the password. It broke my heart to see my guildy's reaction when he found out that his account was hacked. ='(

In all, more than 50k in gold and goods was taken (thankfully only the GM has permission to take gold from the guild bank or else it would be quite a bit more...).

We are waiting to hear back from a GM about the stolen items and gold.

Sorry for the double post.

just heard back from the GM and everything got restored.

The hacker had transferred the officer's main toon over to Borean Tundra server and should be transferred back before the end of the week.
