Since I'm sure that at least some of the people that have joined the guild are new to making games (whether it be in RPG Maker, Game Maker, Eclipse, some other program, or all of them in general), I figured it might be a good idea to have a list of terms and acronyms commonly used in discussions about game creating, tutorials, or in game project threads, that might not be immediately understood by someone new (and believe me, I've been there). This list will be in alphabetical order, and in no way should it be considered complete or comprehensive.
ABS: Stands for Action Battle System. It's a battle system where the battles happen in real time time rather than taking turns. Examples of this can be found in any Legend of Zelda game.
CBS: Most commonly used when talking about RPG Maker, it stands for Custom Battle System. A Custom Battle System is any battle system used in a game that is not the one used in RPG Maker games by default. An example of this would be if a game made in RPG Maker 2000 had battles that played similar to battles in Final Fantasy 6.
CMS: Most commonly used when talking about RPG Maker, it stands for Custom Menu System. A Custom Menu System is any kind of menu that isn't the one used in RPG Maker games by default. An example of this would be if a game made in RPG Maker had a menu system similar to Secret of Mana where the items and actions revolve around like a wheel.
D&D: Used primarily when discussing Game Maker, it stands for Drag & Drop. Drag & Drop is the standard method of game programming in Game Maker, used by simply dragging and dropping commands into something. It should be noted that if it's used in a discussion about a battle system or an RPG, then it is probably referring to the table top RPG, Dungeons & Dragons.
DBS: Most commonly used when talking about RPG Maker, it stands for Default Battle System. A Default Battle System is the battle system that is used in RPG Maker by default.
DMS: Most commonly used when talking about RPG Maker, it stands for Default Menu System. A Default Menu System is the menu system that is used in RPG Maker by default.
Engine: In game creation terms, an engine is the bare bones a game's system. The engine is basically all the programming. Have you ever wondered why some games (like Oblivion and Fallout 3, for instance) play really similar? They're probably made using the same engine, though modified or added onto in some way.
GML: Used when discussing Game Maker, it stands for Game Maker Language. GML is the scripting language that more advanced users use when programming Game Maker games, and people can do much more with it than they can with just the Drag & Drop commands.

This is the only one I can think of right now that could be useful to add. ABS: Action Battle System means real time on the map (e.g., Zelda).
