Teh_Sheba Dementia DarkMoon diet otaku in situations where someone's just talking about kataang/maiko, it's like offering me brussel sprouts - i crinkle my nose in disgust, but i don't get angry. but when someone says "kataang is cooler than zutara" in a ZUTARA comm? i get ready to kick a** and take names. you're in MY territory now and i have no patience for any canon faggotry in my zutara sanctuary. evil am i the only one who looks at someone not liking the ship anymore as sort of a betrayal? :< I understand completely! xD Every time I look at someone's artwork on DA and notice in some form or another that they like Avatar, my very first instinct is to spend as long as it take sifting through their Favorites and Deviations until I find some proof of a sided ship (Which is stupid, but I can't help it) and if it's Kataang or Maiko I can't help but find myself not respecting that artist quite as much. >x<; *Raises hand*
I too am guilty of doing this. redface I do that quite alot, too.

UPDATE, RAWR.
Well, it seems that this chick is not only needlessly persecuting me for sporting Zutara siggies, but I discovered last night that elsewhere in the guild, she actually shut down a thread, simply because they were talking about Slash pairings. Mind you, this was in the sub-forum Chatterbox, so technically, this topic was completely within the rules. I don't recall there being a rule against Slash discusions.
I actually went and saw this closed thread, and well, she obviously deleted all evidence of any slash going on, but she threw a little tizzy at the end...Something about the people involved "disappointing her" and how this guild was the one place she thought she was safe from "that kind of non-existent intellegence"...And proceeding to say that anyone who posts Slash will be banned and that the topic was closed.
I mean, MAN! This chick is really a piece of work. Bashing those people for discussing something perfectly fine...her justification was that none of the characters that they were talking about were even a tiny bit gay...Again, that whole taking canon WAY too seriously thing...
She later says in a thread discussing her actions and the thread that got locked (the one I found that originally led me to this debaucle) that people in that thread were TROLLING, and in that definition, antagonizing others.
Gee, does that sound familiar.
I'm glad to see that the others that were involved were actually very pissed and giving her what-for. They were all calling her out on her over-reacting, and using her powers of moderation very wrongly. And also stating that they were antagonizing no one simply by posting slash.
So naturally, I jumped in to speak in my own defense and the defense of the people who got persecuted in this incident. I haven't really said anything about my whole banning thing aside from one little confrontation I had with Crystal shortly after I came back...I think another girl, Indy, was the only one who knew what was going on and why I got banned since we were talking through PMS...Oh, and the guild master who was kind enough to let me back in.
Other than that, I haven't made much of a big deal out of my banning. But jeez, now it seems that Crystal definitely has a problem. My case was not the only example of wrongful persecution. And so I felt that I was right in jumping in. In fact, I probably OWED her one for banning me in the first place.
It should be interesting to see how the others respond, especially Crystal. I usually don't go starting confrontations, even on the internet.
But yeah. I'll keep ya posted.
Oh, and that time that she told me that she would ban me again if I didn't change my sig? yeah, I have barely touched my sig, but she hasn't touched me. I am thinking maybe the guild master had something to do with it.
If this gets anymore out of hand with this crazy chick, I'm definitely going to take it to the leader. I can actually see myself getting banned again for speaking my opinion my insolence.

D:
That's ridiculous. I mean, I'm not a big fan of slash, but I don't think it's reasonable to ban discussions about it. I just . . . I don't understand people who do things like that. She can't just ignore the topic? :/
It's good that you gave your input on the situation, though, and that you haven't been forced to change your sig. Maybe if enough people like you stand against this kind of thing, it'll stop.

I don't understand why people need to complain and throw fits if there appears in a guild forum that is not theirs alone, a thread about something they don't like. You'd think it'd be easy to just say, well, whatever, I don't agree, so I'm not going to participate... And yet people get into a tizzy like this. I mean, this girl just takes the cake for it.
And I think this has set a lot of people off. I mean, they really were calling her out on her bullshit and outright saying that it was an abuse of power. Unluckily for her, though, she's not showing any sign of repentance or meeting us halfway.
Is it bad for me to say that I hope she gets banned? XD
At the very least, I think a demotion is in order here. 3nodding

I agree and support you! No one should be kicked out of a guild because their opinion is different....
I have a friend that swings towards the original layout of the avatar show...theres a word for this but sadly forgot it...oh well...everytime she came into my room (which had pics of zutara on the walls) she would always give me the lecture of how the world works and that if zuko and katara were meant to be together the writer would have made it so...we would usually end up changing the subject because we were both hard headed about the subject...lol that is my only confrontation with zutara....
RANT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SUBJECT (twilight issue): I like the twilight books but i hate the fans...i liked the books before the second book was thought of...and all the chicks that love it now used to poke fun at my reading choices but i come back from school (third book on the way) and they are all reading it and saying i should read it... stressed

demotion is DEFINITELY in order. no mod should be banning members and locking threads because of actions which are not against the rules but merely offend her personally. and sorry, hon, someone posting an opinion you don't like doesn't make it trolling.
i can just imagine the head-explody fireworks when people start talking about slash and zutara after she's been demoted and can't do anything about it. XD

So much for freedom of speech. What is the internet coming to? ;_; Some people just use their power to do whatever they please, and they get away with it. That's just so wrong.
