So I've been doing some research into why I get absolutely steamrolled by cramps whenever it's "that time of the month" and I think I've narrowed down the cause. Dysmenorrhea.
Basically, it's a condition that a pretty large percentage of women have, especially while they're younger (It's actually the leading cause of like.. short, regular absences from high school), that causes nausea, headaches, fatigue, diarrhea, fainting, and vomiting. Guess how many of those symptoms I get? 5/6. Yea. All the italicized ones. So I think imma see if I can get in to see my family doctor next time we go home for a visit and see if I can confirm this and get some sort of treatment for it because it's kind of scary to be incapacitated to this degree when you're home alone in a strange city where you literally know 1 person, and said person is an hour's flight away at a work camp so far north it's inside the arctic circle.....
Cuzlike.. if something were to happen, like if I fainted in the bathroom or while making food or something no one would find me unless the kitty started yowling and even then it might take some time.
Apparently though, according to wikipedia (lolcrappysourceIknow), eating eggs and meat can significantly reduce the symptoms. And that makes sense because last night when I was feeling terrible, I took a couple minutes and scrambled up some eggs with mushrooms and cheese, and I instantly felt better after eating them. There are a few other solutions there that claim to completely eliminate symptoms as well, so I think i'm going to try a few of them and see just how they work...

I'm looking it up, but did you notice you wrote "vomiting" twice and only italicized it once? So I dunno which symptom you don't get. ._.
Anyway, I don't know how reliable these are, but this site has worked for me more than once (and with that I mean "bring it down to one or two things and then have it confirmed by a doctor").
I also found this, but you might have seen it already if you looked further than Wikipedia (which is likely).

ninja I only see it once, luna :p
I think the first link is more for serious illnesses, less for conditions... when I put in all the symptoms for Dysmenorrhea to test it out, it seemed convinced that the problem was seal poisoning? Like.. from eating seal. Specifically, ones from the Arctic and from Australia? XD Maybe I was using it wrong?
Reading through the second one right now, thanks!

Reading through the second one right now, thanks! Orly? It gave me a long list of things in three pages, but when I tried to go to the second page it killed everything so I decided not to. :P The first one was seal poisoning, though.
Shoy: There's a reason there's a ninja in Toastie's post. xD Also, vomiting =/= diarrhea. Ew.

Also, they are so not the same thing. One is your stomach refusing to digest what you've put inside it and therefore rejecting it from the body, the other is already digested stuff.

You know Toastie, I always thought of you as the type of girl who'd explode all in the crapper.
AND NOW I GET TO FIND OUT I'M RIGHT!!
USUALLY I just sit around and think "I can't ask that, they might think it's none of my business". BUT NOW IT'S LIKE A FREE PASS!!!
Diarrhea is gross... >.<

Usually when you get sick you usually get at least half or less symptoms. If you get all or most symptoms then that's pretty serious. You may have a combination of two diseases or more.

It's not a disease so much as a condition, you can't get it from other people, it's just something you're born with or get due to an imbalance of chemicals, hormones, vitamins and minerals, etc. And actually, something like 60% of young women have it in varying degrees.
I am going to the doctor when Aaron comes home though.

Lol. I had all of the same symptoms that you have including bleeding until I though I was going to die and really bad depression. I ended up going to the Gyno about a year ago and they put me on YAZ to help even out a hormonal imbalance that I have and so far it has worked fantastically. And the best part is my medical insurance covers it so i don't have to pay.
And one of the reasons that eggs and meat help alleviate the symptoms is they replenish the protein that you are losing.

Sheena Ayame a year ago and they put me on YAZ
Is it sad that I kept thinking about the commercial for that ever since I first glanced at this thread?
