xxxPersonality: Casey has been an easy going and friendly guy. Just how he happened to turn out. One of those kids who was always friendly to people. Even those kids who the others thought were weird, or were made fun of for being fat, or otherwise were off by themselves. Sure, he was never friends with everyone, but he was always on good terms with pretty much everyone. Kind generous, always willing to help out if he had the time and could - and in some instances even if he didn't really have the time. Maybe a problem with that though is sometimes he would butt in when friends were having a fight to try and help smooth things over, even if they didn't want it.

There's another tendency he has, and that is when he starts explaining things, often times he goes into great detail and doesn't know when to let up. The biggest thing he does this with is movies. He loves movies, and won't even watch T.V. When a book-based movie is coming out, Casey will even read through the book just so he can see how true to the story it was. He's not just a couch potato though, or just a computer gamer (another thing he does love), but he also is very active. He loves to go camping, took place in gymnastics, soccer, competitive water skiing back home, and played some hockey; he can be a bit of a showboat at times but overall is a good sport.

Since he got his powers though, things have changed for him for the time being. He has grown withdrawn, quiet, and a bit depressed. His upbeat attitude towards life basically has seemed to have gone away after nearly his entire home town turned against him. Really, he's confused. Not sure what to do. Not sure if he should even consider himself with the rest of "normal" humans, and if he isn't one, well what should he do about it.

xxxMain Power: Photokinetics;; Casey's main power is his ability to manipulate light. He can do this in a variety of ways, though his main use for it seems to be shields. Altering the light, he can place a barrier before or even around a target and can manage to hold more than one. Each shield is capable of holding back strong physical force and even energy beams. He can also absorb light. Actually, it's something that's done naturally to a point to keep him going through a night but for real power, he has to absorb more in at will (and he can't store it forever). Now when he does, he can either shoot it out as a beam for a physical attack, or can even turn his body into a giant flash bang that will push back anything within arms reach of him. This ability also causes his eyes to naturally adapt to quick changes in light or even extremely bright lights such as flash bangs or even looking into the sun. Besides that, he can brighten rooms powered electrically. The exact strength of his power is currently untested in bright areas and mainly weaknesses there rest in Casey currently still being unsure about his powers. In dark areas though he is considerably weak, and if left long enough with hardly any light he will grow physically weak and tired.

xxxSecondary Power:Flight or airwalking;; Using his ability to manipulate light into flat or round shields can allow him to pick up or create nearly invisible platforms for himself or others to walk on. Casey's ability to pick things up or support something depends on it's weight. He can support himself with ease along with someone else of similar weight, but if he were to try lifting Colossus while armored would cause a lot of strain and he wouldn't be able to hold it up for long.

xxxTertiary Power:Invisibility;; By bending light rays in an area, he can make something look as if it is not there. Stationary objects are far easier to do than moving objects and using this power takes nearly all of his concentration. Casey's grasp on his tertiary power is just starting and he isn't even able to flawlessly hide something as small as a pencil without the distortion being noticeable.

xxxBiography: Well what is there to talk about? His life started out rather normal. He grew up in the rather small town of Red Lake, Ontario. It was a nice place. Good amount of trees and his parents even had a house on a lake. The place was big enough to have a rather good school district, but too small for even a Wal Mart. It really was a good place to grow up. He started to play soccer, loved to swim, and his dad got him into competitive water skiing as well as camping. When Casey got to middle school he joined his school's gymnastic team.

Now there's something else about where Casey grew up that has been left out so far. It seemed devoid of mutants. They would probably have to drive three hours to find even a city with mutants. Of course people there "knew" about mutants from the news and all. To the people there, they always frowned on hearing those stories that were about a mutant hate group beating innocent mutants. Gossiped after such news bulletins on how they would accept a mutant if one showed up in their town and not treat mutants with such disregard. It's funny though what people say compared to how they actually act when faced with the real situation.

Summer was about. Casey recently had turned 15, and him and his friends were getting out of the local theater. As usual, Casey was ranting on about the movie. Pouring over nearly every detail of the film from the acting, to the fight scenes, special effects, even the many bloopers he found. It was a mistake that happened next. Two mistakes in a sense, though only one that could happen to most people. Having been too caught up in the movie, Casey stepped out into the street without really looking. City street, speed limit 30, though with most midwestern drivers, they were actually driving around 35. Casey's eyes widened as his head turned towards the vehicle. Too late to break, the small car came to a crashing halt. All the same, Casey stood there completely fine. Not a dent on him, yet the car's front was dented in as if it just hit a telephone pole. It was silent all the way until Casey was dropped off at home.

Now of course, the entire school heard what happened come Monday. The first week all that really occurred was everyone, even the teachers, would grow quiet when Casey came into a room or walked down a hall. Not even his friends seemed to talk to him. The following week though was when things got interesting. People started bumping him in the hall with mutters of "mutie." Soon those bumps came to some full force shoulder hits or objects thrown. By the end of the school year, Casey had grown to be a complete outsider, and not even just in school but with the rest of the town as well.

When summer came, he spent most the time with his family. A message even arrived from the Xavier Institute to have Casey join them in the fall. He never heard of it though and his parents turned it down. They had hopes that after summer, things would get better again and go back to normal; they had faith in their town and all the talk that use to go on about how accepting they'd be. Of course, they also didn't want to see their son head off to New York. They were wrong though and nothing had changed by the time he got back to school. In fact, things seemed to have grown worse. As a strange upside to this though, Casey's ability to produce shields grew rather well. The kids (mostly the football players) who use to slam into him in the halls suddenly couldn't seem to even come close. Objects would bounce off the air inches from his head.

Casey had managed to make it through the school year. All the same, by the end of it, things were simply too hard for him to keep going. Seeing how it broke his spirit, his parents knew they had to send him off to the institute. Interestingly enough as they tried to hunt down the phone number, they got a call from the school itself to give Casey another invite.

Dude, it was a great movie, but it wasn't perfect. I could point out so many problems it had!
