Kumoru sat in a chair outside of one of the party rooms at the Laz0rTag Center, waiting for guests to arrive. The mage was dressed in casual clothes rather than his robes, since the latter would have been obviously impractical for purposes of the game, but his crossed arms and the faint line between his brows indicated that he was not completely happy to be there. Of course, he was pleased for his daughter, as always, but somehow her eager mood was not really spreading to the mage....

Lucretia, on the other hand, was brimming with happiness as she fluttered around the lobby, apparently unable to keep still. Hopefully all of her friends had gotten the invitations she had sent out, and they would be able to join her. The Ice Rose highly doubted Dayo would turn down a good game of Laz0rTag, and she thought Vyn might at least be interested, but she had not seen some of her other friends in so long.

Clasping her hands together, she drifted around to help her nervous energy and excitement, carefully avoiding running into the other patrons of the place for the most part. In spite of the black sheet that Lucretia wore like a cape to help hide her white skin, she still gave off a cold feeling to those who passed too close. Otherwise, no one really batted an eye at the floating Raevan in the establishment; Gaia was full of strange enough creatures, and besides, Lucretia came to this place all the time. All the regulars were used to it.

(( I guess just don't worry about a posting order for now, but try to wait a little bit for everyone to have a chance? Then maybe once we get into the swing of things, we can try to put down a stricter order ))

As always, Eiry was the first one out of the car and Isi could hardly keep track of him as he entered the Lazor Tag building. The boy had just managed to hop out of the car, leaving his brother and Rivener to go and park the car. Surprisingly, the parking lot didn't have any spaces near the front, but then again it shouldn't have been so surprising considering that this was a Lazor Tag Center. Isi had never been to one, but he was sure that such a place would be stuffed to the brim with fun-seeking sweaty people. In fact, as he hobbled after Eiry, throwing his arms awkwardly into his crutches, Isi could see people coming in and out of the center. There were people smart enough to wear all black to escape the glowing effect of the black lights in the maze, and then there were helpless first timers who accidentally chose to wear white the day they went for their first game of lazor tag. Fortunately for Isi, who had a wardrobe of mostly dark clothing, he had chosen a grey shirt and a slim dark blue jacket.

The luck in his choice of clothing, however, went unappreciated for Isikoro was not altogether sure of his role at Lucretia's birthday party. He was content to do anything really, either sitting in the room and patiently waiting for the young frei to come out of the game, or watching them from one of the observation windows. He didn't expect to play, not with his condition, and there was a little part of his chest that tensed up with ire and irritation every time his mind stumbled over that conclusion.

"Eiry!" Isikoro called, trying to call back his ward, "Eirdirsceol, slow down and stay by my side! I don't want to lose you."

Oddly enough, Isi's command was heeded. Eiry was floating near the entrance to the party rooms, glancing through the doorway warily at the people inside from underneath a black messenger boy's cap. He pulled his green overcoat tightly around him and gulped.

When Isi and Aphi first discovered the birthday invitation in the mail sent by Lucretia, the minty frei was more than ecstatic to attend the party and see her again. He made sure the clothes he wore were nice and he even tried to comb his unkempt wild hair. He picked out a special present for her, wrapped it himself, and hopped into the car without so much of his usual fuss.

Now that he was there, all his eagerness collapsed within his chest into a solid cube of tense energy that pent up his insides and made him freeze over. He could see her in the next room, floating about like a leaf of the wind, happy and excited.

Isi came up behind his ward. Looking at Eiry, who had suddenly frozen outside the doorway, the boy smirked and rolled his eyes, "Don't tell me that you're forgoing your over friendliness now, Eiry. Come on, let's go in and say hello." And with that, Isi stepped into the room and gave a smile, "Hello Lucretia, hello Kumoru."

Finally, the day had arrived! Dayo had been near-literally buzzing with excitement for days since she had gotten the birthday party invitation in the mail. It had been a while since she had seen the Frei she considered to be one of her best friends, and equally forever since she played her favorite game. Her guardian was ecstatic to get her to this party, if only so the eagle girl could channel out some of this pent-up energy and she could get some good night's sleep - they had both spent the less busy hours of the past week pacing restlessly, trying to fill the gaping moments of inactivity with board games and going out to fetch midnight snacks at places that were still open. Not wanting to spend any more time looking for a parking space, the mechanic opted to park her car at the convenience store next door.

Dayo spent the entire drive hanging her head out the window like a half-humanized golden retriever. It was the norm for her to do so, but this time instead of for the wind and the rush she was keeping her sharp eyes out for the Laz0rTag center so she would know the very moment they had arrived. Her little claws threatened to tear the lightning bolt-patterned wrapping paper on her gift with how strong her grip was on it, and if she had legs, they most definitely would have been bouncing with anticipation.

Unlike Eiry she hadn't made much of an attempt to look nice: taming her hair had proved to be impossible a long time ago, and it would have gotten messed up during laser tag anyway. She did, however, use some of the extra money from what she spent on Luc's birthday gift on a dark blue skirt with a thick zipper down the side that concealed her rune as well as going well with the outfit she was born with.

The moment the car doors were open, she zipped straight towards the game center. She'd been there a few times and knew exactly where to go. A few humans meandering through the parking lot weren't going to get in her way!

"Dayo, don't forget that you have to show them your game pass!" her guardian shouted after her, motoring her short frame as well as she could to keep up. Green seemed to have been demoted to an accent color today, her outfit instead consisting of a reasonable amount of black for where she was going.

The overexcited Frei flew straight past Eiry, leaving a trail of giddiness in her wake and not seeming to notice the tiniest brush of cold foxfire as a bit of her arm brushed a ghostly wing.

"Luuuuc! Hi! It's been, like, forever, hasn't it? Where do I put this?" She lifted her present box to indicate towards it, wanting to get it out of her hands so she could play. "Or I guess you take it, since it's yours."

Mouse showed up a few moments later, stopping to rest her hands on her knees and catch her breath. "Hey Lucretia, Kumo. Everything going well? Is Xiao Huo doing alright?" she asked, remembering her mishap with her little Porcelain. She then offered a little wave to Isi, giving a smile and saying, "Oh, I didn't expect to see you here. It's been a while, huh? How's Eiry handling things? ...That's Dayo over there, by the way."

With all the chaos surrounding Gage’s death the shadow rose had practically forgotten about the ice rose’s interest in going to play lazer tag with her. However, when a neatly written invitation had arrived at the penthouse and Ethan had presented it to her, the interest in the strange game had been rekindled. Even now as the suave looking car parked in the car park Vyn’s pitch eyes were looking keenly through the slightly tinted windows. It seemed as though other guests had already arrived; the familiar figures of Eiry-kun and Isikoro were easy to spot and rushing past them towards the centre was another, unfamiliar, raevan with large feathered wings. A mixture of nervousness and excitement was fast overwhelming her... She hadn’t been in a large group of her kind... Well, since the summer festival, oh so long ago! But the thrill of a new and unique experience was enough to fight back her apprehension, she’d even not filled herself up with mundane shadows to try and savour the unique variety that were sure to be produced by the lazers. Plus, she couldn’t back out now, Lucretia was expecting her!

However, sitting in the car thinking about the party and the problems and joys possibly presented by it was not going to get anything achieved... So, in a smooth moment she undid her safety belt, opened the door and got out. She turned to give her guardian a thank-you and confirm that she would phone him on her cell phone (neatly placed in the satchel at her side) before proceeding to glide over to where the raevan’s and guardians were congregating.

As she approached Vyn fixed her most friendly smile onto her face and flicked her wings slightly to propel herself over the last few metres of car park and into the room.

Hello Lucretia, happy birthday.” She announced, presenting the girl with a neatly wrapped small gift and a card. Vyn hadn’t been sure what sort of present to give to the frigid raevan... Her own birthday gift that she’d requested off Ethan had been simple – she liked music so tickets to a music concert had been the obvious choice. However, Vyn didn’t know what Lucretia was fond of really... Other than lazer tag and that knowledge was useless considering the fact that her party was already taking the form of a game of lazer tag. Thus the rose had consulted her worldly wise parent in search of a good gift.

Ethan had also been rather stumped, however eventually the gift chosen was a small electronic device that you could apparently play games on if you plugged it into a television. The logic behind the choice was that if Lucretia liked the thrill of competition with lazer tag she might like the similar joy of beating the virtual games... The link was a little fuzzy, but Vyn hoped that she would like it never the less.
