
The minimum you're expected to be able to write in is English and pinyin. Write out the pinyin and then the English under it. If you don't know how to set your computer up to type in characters then don't worry about it. If you really want to learn how Google it or ask me. It's better that you do set your computer to do this because if you don't you will miss out on a lot later on.
If you know then the order should go characters, pinyin, and then English.
Ex: 你好!
Ex: Nǐ hǎo!
Ex: Hello!
This just helps so that I can tell you if your characters are matching your tones and that you're getting the correct translation.
There will be times when I want things only in characters or pinyin, I will tell you when I want it like that but otherwise always keep to the above pattern.
Please use simplified characters. Though I will always put traditional and simplified in my lesson plans I prefer that you always used simplified because while some simplified characters are similar or even the same as there traditional characters there are many that are not.
