Bugs are animals. Why would you kill nearly 1000 helpless fireflies that did nothing to you?

That's different. Termites damage your house. Like Ailinea said, those fireflies did nothing to you.

As Lupine stared, termites damage your house. So, obviously, you would kill them. Just as you would get rid of mice eating your food and chewing your cabinets, and moths that eat your clothes, etc.
I'll restate my question again. Why did you kill nearly 1000 helpless fireflies that did nothing to you? They're fireflies. They fly around and flash lights to find a mate their entire lives. What were they doing to you? Shining their dim lights in your eyes? I fail to see a logical explanation for your needless slaughter of generations of defenseless animals.

so it was wrong but i was young too young to know the difference now that i know about them i would never kill them now i keep them in jars as flashlights its really cool
