[F O R S C I E N C E !]
So, I'm approaching my seventieth hour without sleep. Starting to feel a little anxious, perceptions are out of whack, feel utterly exhausted. But I'm gonna keep going until i wind up crashing, however more long that may be.
Why is Outsider doing this, you cry? Mixture of things really. Curiousity for how it feels, a strong desire to beat my old sleep deprivation record I set as a kid, the fact that a friend barely lasted forty hours and I totally want to show him up, as well as all other sortsa things.
I don't even know why I'm making this thread, to be honest. I'll probably wind up using it to note down my thoughts as they start to become less sensible and more deranged.
Fun fun fun.

Bourgeois IV » Uh. No sleep = no fun. + You get fat by sleep shortage. ;D [ (。◕ฺˇε ˇ◕ฺ。) ♥ ] I hate it when people make blanket statements like that. No, it doesn't. Might be able to find a study linking it, but lack of sleep does not make you fat. :/ being stupid makes someone who used to think you were hella cool now think you're not quite as cool, though. which is close.

I can't go 12 hours without sleep. 4laugh But I think Pixie has stayed up longer than seventy hours, though? Find something interesting to do, too. Because as much as I want to tell you to go sleep, I have no authority.

Might be able to find a study linking it, but lack of sleep does not make you fat. :/ being stupid makes someone who used to think you were hella cool now think you're not quite as cool, though. which is close. » I expected to receive some backfire from you, but please do find some studies about it.
"They found that, even after factors such as depression, physical activity, alcohol consumption, ethnicity, level of education, age and gender had been taken into account, people were more likely to be obese the less sleep they had.
While those who had less than four hours sleep were most at risk, people who got only five hours of sleep were 50% more likely to be obese than those who were getting a full night's rest.
Those who got six hours of sleep were 23% more likely to be substantially overweight." Source
Also: "Here are some ways you how can control cortisol - and battle the bulge:
Don't skimp on your sleep. A University of Chicago study published in the journal 'Sleep' showed that men who slept only 4 hours had 37% more cortisol in their blood than men who got a full 8 hours sleep.
Make sure you get 'good quality' sleep. Human growth hormone is essential to help prevent the loss of muscle mass, caused by cortisol. Another University of Chicago study showed that men who got plenty of deep sleep released almost 65% more human growth hormone (HGH) than men who slept lightly." Source
But whatever, suit yourself. [ (。◕ฺˇε ˇ◕ฺ。) ♥ ]

But you made a blanket statement saying no sleep = fat, which isn't true. I dont sleep enough, and I am not fat, and I will never be fat. A lot of people are the same. Also, this is one time he's not sleeping for ages. is not gonna = fat. I mean, it's not even a relevant situation to put your research.

Hirun Hikari How long did you get to without sleep? xD
113 hours. I was hallucinating fairly heavily by the end of it and started to get some really peculiar thought patterns. Decided to call it quits there, I'd already beaten my record after all. Any longer and I'd have developed some strong anxiety anyway.
