I like it, but I must say that the fourth book was like an extremely poorly written fanfic. *SPOILER*The whole thing with Bella having a baby by Edward just didn't work out physiologically in my mind. ONE: He has no blood, so how exactly did he maintain an erection? TWO: The baby, if one was conceived, really should've just kept growing and growing at a rapid rate. There should've been no slowed growth there. That just didn't make sense for the growth to just randomly stop. THREE: Why is it that male half vamps are venemous, and female half vamps are not? FOUR: Why is Renesmee's chromosomal count the same as Jacobs? That's just ridiculous. There are just too many scientific holes in this story for me to actually read it and be satisfied. The author needed to do a shitload more homework before she put pen to paper. I was highly dissappointed.*END SPOILER*

I have a strong dislike to Meyer's attempt to preach through her books! Belle the girl has no hope or dreams in till she find Edward, then she a dedicated "I'll throw myself off a cliff to be with you" type women. No back bone, and even less character. All she does it call for Edward and sacrifice herself with out thinking about a better. Edward is a self loath, I'm stalking you in the middle of the night (the creepy way, not very romantic), over protective black heart. And that was only two characters. That ignore the stupid vampire traits, the preaching you religious opinions on sex and abortions, mixed in with all dry tone over laid with romantic verses. If you need a mental sweet, with no thinking and depth then go ahead and read it. But don't look past the surface of the romantic Romeo and Juliet gush story cause there really isn't much there.
I look back at this post and realize that though true, I could have said half the things in a nicer tone. Sorry if I hurt you feeling or cause extreme annoyance due to me careless typing.

Don't feel sorry. I completely agree. My feelings on this, is that as far as a love story goes, yeah, okay, it's not bad, but as a piece of literature, it can't be considered good. You're right. There is no depth to it, and when the author tries for more depth, she muddles it way too much. And in the case of Renesmee (Bella and Edward's child) she needed to do more homework before thinking about creating a half vamp. There's really no way that you could do that. And Bella, as you said, is a completely spineless idiot. No one should ever bend over backward that far for a guy. And besides, Jacob was ready and willing to love her when Edward's stupid, self-hating, emo a** was off ******** around elsewhere. So screw Edward. Though in my opinion, Bella should've just died and Edward should've gone to the Volturi. Would've saved me alot of tedious reading. And as a side note: VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE IN SUNLIGHT, AND THEY CANNOT TOUCH CRUCIFIXES. THEY BURN.

:3 I agree. These are my feeling exactly. I also agree -to an extent- with Mooncry. The relationship was rather weak, and the main characters were lacking depth. I did like the story though. I don't really care how bad of a writer people say she is. And as for the whole 'traits of a vampire' issue. Honestly, it's a mythical race. Multiple cultures have different versions of 'vampires'. Also, just about everyone who's written a vampire story has their own personal traits that they add to or take away from their vampires. It's not as if they actually exist so that you can compare her story to the real thing. It's what she wanted and she should be allowed that. If you don't like it then I find it rude to say that her imagination is flawed. ...though I personally find the sparkling thing a bit silly.
What I really don't like is the fan base that's built up for the books. All the crazy things they're doing like random acts of violence for saying that one character is better than another. They make me ashamed to call myself a fan of the series. ..is to love, and be loved in return

I'm sorry, but if someone walked up to me, the biggest Potter Geek on Earth, and told me that Harry Potter sucked, or that one of the characters sucked, I most assuredly would not kick that person's a**. It's a stupid book, people! There is no need to defend a fictional character to the extent of physical violence. I mean, sure, a heated argument is okay. XD But physically pulling some girl's hair out just because she's on "Team Jacob", I mean, c'mon. Oh, btw, TEAM VOLTURI BEBI. WOO.

I loved the Twilight series, though really, I love almost any series I read. I thought her take on vampires was quite interesting. Someone said that her story sounded preachy. I don't think it was exactly preachy, but looking back on the story, I can see that she put her LDS morals and standards into the story. Though I do agree that the last book sounded a bit more like a fanfiction than an actual novel. I was disappointed with the ending, because it was pretty much "and they all lived happily ever after." The first two I thought were great, though it seemed that after Edward came back from Volterra in the second book, the story got a little bit more fanfiction-like (maybe that's why I've read the first two at least 4 times each [if not more], and the other two only twice or maybe three times each [at max]). Oh well, in the end, I thought it was a good series. I will probably read it again in the near future. But first, I really do need to make another attempt at reading The Lord of the Rings...

Twilight isn't too bad. I actually enjoyed the first book and the movie. *glomps Charlie* I suppose I've been spoilt by the Vampire Chronicles. Team Lestat is better than Edward anyone? Or Team Diggory? It's the fans and the haters that scare me.

I eat my Twinkie Twilight book and serious. And I like it, but you can't get a rich flavor from an over manufactoried snake as you might from a delicious milky chocolate pudding done by a famous French chef. By the way it can be a rich home made chocolate pudding or maybe it rich chocolate mouse from a five star hotel in Paris or London.HMMMMM!!!!!* Starts dreaming about rich, expensive European chocolates that will destroy her figure and her wallet* Okay...I'm not so pleased with my Twilight Twinkie anymore.

I'm on the fence with it. I liked the idea behind the books, but I'm not a fan of Meyer's writing style, and I'd love the chance to strangle Bella- no offense to any Bella fans, but she whines too much- she gets on my nerves.
I tend to like complicated plots, complicated characters, and a sophisticated writing style. The Twilight books don't have any of those, though there were moments in the books I enjoyed. There were also times when I felt like bashing my head off the wall. And I laughed at the Volutri, though I think they were supposed to be scary? O.o
