First order of business... what do you call the sultry and sometimes slutty video dancers? Why?
Me personally.. it depends on my mood and what they are doing. Usually it's video girls.. but I will call them video hos.

Next I want to address what makes them negative influence and frowned upon? Is it because they wear slinky clothes and gyrate their hips?
Huh.. that's funny. I've seen Beyonce and Ciara do the same exact moves. So why is a problem that someone who has a cute face and generally nice body isn't allowed to do the same things without being held in a negative light? Is it because they haven't established themselves in hiphop by singing? Why the unfair double standard?

Did Karrine "SuperHead" Steffans give all video girls a bad name because she decided to "give reason" to why she fell victim of being a video girl, which was more of a slam/kiss and tell book for all of America?

Thoughts.. opinions.. feedback?

I just call them models or dancers, depending on what they are doing: modeling, or dancing. xD

I think that female viewers "hate" on them because they don't appreciate being shown so much "tits&a**" when they are trying to watch a video featuring a male artist that they like. I also think that the rappers (whose music videos are notorious for featuring scantily-clad girls), are trying to sell their music to male consumers, and they may figure that these barely-clothed females dancing suggestively will appeal to their target audience.

Many women may dislike seeing these models and dancers in videos because they feel they will never be able to look like the models do, therefore dooming them to what they may perceive as a mediocre life with men who are not as wealthy or sexy as they think these rappers are.

I don't think the "superhead" chick gave all video models/dancers a bad name; I believe that people have and always will think about those girls negatively; people like "superhead" just give the naysayers more ammunition. xd

Think about supermodels: they have a bad reputation for being snotty and anorexic/bulimic. Blond-haired girls have a bad reputation, etc. It seems to always go back to the big double-standard that we seem to happily embrace in America: we place people who look a certain way on a pedestal, then we stare up at them with envy and cast angry looks and judgments at them. neutral

I dont think it's because what the girls are doing in the video is what's making people angry with them. But exactly what they had to do to get that Job. This line of profession can sometimes cross the line into prostitution. Especially if the song is pretty suggestive in itself. A lot of those women have to fight and do a lot of things to the artist, his friends, manager, mangers friends, and the list go on. Just to get 2 min extra camera time or become the lead girl. Which in itself you only get like 1 screen shot.

But alot of girls who are famous now were discovered as "Video vixens" like the girl from clueless and the girl who played fancy in the jamie fox show. That's only the lucky ones.

Plus at the same time it hurts other women. Because it can cause some men to have a negative image about women with bodies like that and often hurts them from being taken serious in jobs. So women feel like it takes them back a few years. That the fight for civil rights kinda went down the drain. That this is a new kinda twisted modern version on the 50's house women.

Like I have a voluptuous video vixen body and I have to be careful with a lot of that things I do from dressing to speaking. Because people just judge too early before they even get to know.

But I support the profession as long as no one get's hurt Physically.

I was about to sit here and say there's a diff between the model and the ho. Then I stopped myself. I don't know what that particular woman did to get that part. All I know is that for the most part, the ho-ish girls are the ones that usually are all greased up and hardly wearing enough string on them to be considered clothing. The models are usually the ones who wear the sexy stuff and get a little risque now and then. But looking at some of these videos now (which I hardly do. I am such a nerd.. gonk I just don't get those kinds of videos..) I can hardly tell who's what with the where and the how.

But then again, some of these women (no need to name names! xd ) Will drop their panties in a minute to let you know who they are. Those are the ones I usually call video hoes.

Most of these girls in general sort of piss me off. Most guys have enough sense to realize that not all women are like that. The ones that don't are jaded under the influence of some of these greased up or coture-ed up ladies. In other words--standards are set too high.

But um...yeah....they ARE distracting. For me it's like two ways. On one hand, I am attracted to them. On the other, I'm like "okay....this song doesn't have anything to do with you. MOVE DAMN IT!! scream "

I call them ALL sluts. Both men AND women. I don't care if it's mean, it's what they all are.

Technically, I call them video girls and "models" complete with real life quote fingers (we're talking about those "glamour models" right?). I don't call glorified prostitutes "dancers" because that would be an insult to actual dancers. Morally I call them and their male employers propogators of harlotry. Why? Because that's what they're doing.

First I'd like to emphasize that I see no seperation between the obscure ones and A-listers like Beyonce and Ciara. If you are going to portray yourself in a less-than-savory manner then it doesn't matter who you are, it's wrong. Yes, it's the revealing clothes and "dancing." There is no excuse for that. First of all the musicians don't need them. There's musicians that do just fine without them. The guys and girls shouldn't lower themselves to that kind of message no matter what the boss and audience wants. If they HAVE to make those kind of compromises then oh well, when you die, you don't take fame and money with you. When you factor in what the songs are about and what they do to get those jobs, it's just not a good business.

Being cute and having a nice body is all well and good, but that doesn't entitle them to carry themselves in a promiscuous manner. I actually could give a rat's behind about fairness in this situation and don't really care what they look like or how established they are. Being cute is no excuse to defile themselves and fester in lust.

I don't know who that person is but from your post, it looks like she's just rationalizing her behaviour. I think it hurts the preception of video girls because she's playing the victim, which just makes her annoying now.

Sex sells people. The problem I have is these terms are they ARE NOT use for white women in white rock videos who act the same way.

I don't call them anything other than talent-less hussies both the males and the females "artists" who are being used by the white companies.

So in a way I feel sorry for them cause mostly it doesn't do any good for them career wise and there's a lot of sexual harassment and rape.

As for female "singers" yeah they can't really sing they just overly glorified pole dancers mostly. They all look, sound, and dance the same.

So yeah I'm gonna let you sound like an a** Kayne but B-once video was the same as all of them.

Actually that video reminded be of when I was a cheerleader in Middle School and I was in Middle School way back in late 90's so there you.
